Sikkimese should pay tax to Indian government now. Their state is now well developed and they are not above the rest of the Indian populace. Sikkim is not a separate country anymore. Marwaris shouldn't be the only community to pay tax, Nepalis, Bhutia, Lepchas and every other Sikkimese community should pay tax, there is nothing wrong in it now in 2023 when Sikkim has developed and is doing so well as a state.
Im from the bhutia community and I am disgusted by the method used by the business community to try and uproot the Sikkimese Nepali using the Supreme Court. We will not stand such humiliation of our fellow brothers and sisters. The business community are recent settlers in the history of Sikkim unlike the Lepcha, Bhutia and Nepali community. The marvaris and business community have only been Sikkimese as per their convenience and have never really cherished the history of Sikkim or it’s people.
Why donot file counter petition by lepcha, bhutia, Nepali together saying income tax exemption was given only for sikkimese subject merged with india n not to who were always indian living in Sikkim n who r just like any other indian not protected by article 371 f . Cuz it can further dilute the article n same can seek COI later citing they r already exempted from income tax by govt so they r sikkimese . If not by govt by some organisation consisting all sikkimese

I thought nepali community was targeted and will always be targeted in future until and unless there won't be any permanant political situations for nepali community living in India because we cannot change the fact that we have our neighbouring country Nepal🇳🇵. Natives of majh kirat became rai ethnicity after it was amalgamated in modern Nepal. After junga bahadur s muluki ain they were officially used as surname further on. But in majh kirat and within rai there r diverse clans with different languages n traditions. One most also ponder on its true roots, heritage and history

No one is trying to cut BL seats. Trying to prove our origin will lead us to nowhere be it Bhutia, Nepali or Lepcha. When can we start referring to ourselves as Sikkimese, your forefathers and mine accepted to be king's ( Chogyal's subject), that very document made us Sikkimese and we should try to unite from there on rather than standing divided. We must refer to ourselves as Sikkimese rather than fighting internally.

Yes it is their tactic to break down the Sikkimese nepali community thereby demolishing any opposition when they begin their move to population displacement through Bengalis and Biharis like in Darjeeling.
371(F) can't be abrogated because its being amended from original article 371 which is for Maharastra and Gujarat. New Delhi can't afford the backlash.
Fantastic cast of speakers very informative indeed, however one also needs to understand the erroneous error overlooked by the state govt and it's machinery during the entire onset of the proceedings when the new AAG was appointed, speakers kinda played it safe here i believe....one can't overlook such steps & brush it under the carpet, that the speakers themselves pointed out, time to call a spade a spade too is the need of the hour and to instill a sense of the very rights the speakers talked of, and the duty the state forgot.....peace 🕊️
This is wrong.. we did apply for citizenship by filling the form costing Rs5/-. But the then authorities refused to accept them citing some frivolous reason to deny us the opportunity .

No one is saying bhutia is not native. It's some bhutia n Tibbetan refugee ( some Tibbetan refugee lives in Sikkim, darjeeling too beside Himachal ) is supporting the judge of SC . We are willing to pay taxes & we have been paying. Since we are into business & there won't be any level playing field for us if exclusively we have to pay the tax. That's our concern.
So basically you are justifying that either you dont pay tax equalling with Sikkim Subjects or you want all of the Sikkim Subject holders to pay taxes equalling you. So you basically want to dilute the Sikkimese exclusive benefits in Article 371 F. What a game you all are playing!

We they sure should enjoy restriction in the areas that need preservation, but if they themselves are creating infrastructure from tax money, why wont they contribute too? Original inhabitant of Sikkim limboo who had lolipop 1 seat reservation for not accepting Buddhism in king period n other ST tamang wanting ST seat reservation by increasing seats. Yes it is their tactic to break down the Sikkimese nepali community thereby demolishing any opposition when they begin their move to population displacement through Bengalis and Biharis like in Darjeeling.
371(F) can't be abrogated because its being amended from original article 371 which is for Maharastra and Gujarat. New Delhi can't afford the backlash.

Fantastic cast of speakers very informative indeed, however one also needs to understand the erroneous error overlooked by the state govt and it's machinery during the entire onset of the proceedings when the new AAG was appointed, speakers kinda played it safe here i believe....one can't overlook such steps & brush it under the carpet, that the speakers themselves pointed out, time to call a spade a spade too is the need of the hour and to instill a sense of the very rights the speakers talked of, and the duty the state forgot.....peace 🕊️
This is wrong.. we did apply for citizenship by filling the form costing Rs5/-. But the then authorities refused to accept them citing some frivolous reason to deny us the opportunity .

No one is saying bhutia is not native. It's some bhutia n Tibbetan refugee ( some Tibbetan refugee lives in Sikkim, darjeeling too beside Himachal ) is supporting the judge of SC . N some Nepali r countering. It's true that only dengzong bhutia r more native than Nepali except kirati limboo n eastern mangar of so called Nepali ( cuz their population more in Nepal ) but equal native with lepcha. Other bhutia migrated from tibbet, nepal, bhutan at same time with nepali but counted as bhutia for being much similar to dengzonpa. U cannot deny.

We are willing to pay taxes & we have been paying. Since we are into business & there won't be any level playing field for us if exclusively we have to pay the tax. That's our concern.
So basically you are justifying that either you dont pay tax equalling with Sikkim Subjects or you want all of the Sikkim Subject holders to pay taxes equalling you.
So you basically want to dilute the Sikkimese exclusive benefits in Article 371 F.

Well on the same line my question is, yes Sikkim, Ladakh all naturally significant places need some preservation, but why the exemption from taxes even after 75 years of being an Indian citizen? enjoying all benefits of the tax money from other states? We they sure should enjoy restriction in the areas that need preservation, but if they themselves are creating infrastructure from tax money, why wont they contribute too? No citizen from other parts can buy land or create businesses there, but they certainly can do in other states. Then why not contribute to own taxes too?
