With the passing of the late great Chris Cornell, Myles now holds the top spot as my favorite current rock vocalist. And to be fair second is not even really that close to him.
Which is one of the reasons he doesn't suffer from LSD (Lead Singer Disease). That and he's just generally a really good person. I have yet to hear a 'negative' story about him. And he works to save elephants. And he helps a foundation that helps get instruments and instruction to kids that can't afford it. And works and performs for other charitable organizations. BUT I have it on good authority that he kicks puppies, so there's that. j/k

I'm a musician, so I'm familiar with the inherent anxiety of getting on stage and performing, but I can't imagine being in Myles' position here. The crowd knows there's a 'big note,' he knows it, the band knows it...the pressure on singers to deliver in those moments has to be insane. I reckon it helps to just acknowledge it and have a laugh about it before the song starts, as he did here. And he sure did deliver! :0
He was thinking about it for sure, he grabs a different chord there for a moment a little bit before the the high note. At least he's a confirmed human after all.

I've never heard of this band before, and I honestly didn't find anything too remarkable about their music, voices or song, buuuut, what I love the most about your videos is how much information you give as you break down vocal linguistics. I can't sing to save my life but gosh I'd love to work with you just to be able to get a better speaking voice. I love how detailed you are and how much attention you pay to specifics. Love your channel so much. (I subbed after watching you do TOOL and I'm so glad I found you!) Keep up the great work.
The fact that Alter Bridge is compromised of three of the four members of Creed(guitarist Mark Tremonti, basist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips) combined with the fact that Myles is just as unique and amazing a singer as Scott Stapp is is awesome!
Soooo weird was about to go comment that you should do a Alter Bridge song. Love this song. Miles is SICK. There is a reason he's singing with Slash's band also. So Beast. Great job! Tremonti is a beast also, his sound is very southern. They harmonize soooo damn well. Go see this band live. Your reaction to the high hit was awesome. Great review Beth! Watch the whole concert. That note at 15:20 the way Mark looks over after it and is like "Yea that's how we roll, this fool is not human (Myles)." Body language says it all. I’m a dude and Myles the way he sings this song, the lyrics, the passion...I cry man, it’s absolutely beautiful.
this complete show was very special, live at the royal Albert hall, with an full ochestra and songs they rarely play live with hits and songs from the latest album called the Last hero, als they are in the studios again to write a new album for a late 2019 early 2020 release. to me 1 of the best bands of the last 14 years, with a insane fanbase, and the band is very loyal to their fans, with meetings before shows. making sure all i well at avery stage.
You've never heard a live recording of this song because they've never performed it live before. I was at this gig, it's one of my fave songs, sent shivers up my spine. Everyone there went nuts when he hit that note.
Her reaction to the high note is the reaction i get from everyone who has never listened to alter bridge. Gitty and impressed. I subbed!
I remember when I saw Myles Kennedy at the end of rockstar with mark whalberg his voice was unbelievable. After that is when heard about alter bridge and I had been hooked ever since.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Thank you so much for doing this!! I love this band so much, and this song .... I had goosebumps all the way through this video because I was enjoying you enjoying it so much!
He’s an awesome singer, they’re an awesome band ❤️❤️
Not only that, but you’re awesome at what you do too, you’re great at explaining about what’s happening behind the scenes (for want of a better phrase) so that people like me can appreciate our favourite musicians even more, and all the work that goes into how they sound 🥰
I love your reaction to the top note at the end. it was like a little kid being given her fav candy
Thanks for this Beth! ❤️ Next one should be Fortress! 😏
2 of the baddest dudes on the planet 🤘🏼
Watched just for the reaction to Myles' high note. Was not disappointed. 😂👍🏻
Your breakdown of the voice and the mechanics is brilliant! I wish I lived in London. I may never sing, but I'll bet you could teach me so much about how to maximize my voice. Love your channel so much. (I subbed after watching you do TOOL and I'm so glad I found you!) Keep up the great work.
YES!!!! Thank you so much for doing this
The fact that Alter Bridge is compromised of three of the four members of Creed(guitarist Mark Tremonti, basist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips) combined with the fact that Myles is just as unique and amazing a singer as Scott Stapp is is awesome!
Thank you so much for this vid. You have a new sub. Myles and Marc or both are amazing. They deserve more recognition for their amazing work
React to Richie Kotzen. Another great singer and guitarist too.
The Winery Dogs provide many excellent examples of Richie's vocal capabilities
Definitely. Also, Fooled Again, from Richie's solo catalog.
@@stirlingogden6655 yes, yes, hell yes! Too little people know about them
Soooo weird was about to go comment that you should do a Alter Bridge song. Cheers!!!
That note at 15:20 the way Mark looks over after it and is like "Yea that's how we roll, this fool is not human (Myles)." Body language says it all. I have so much jealousy towards Mark to be involved with a musician like Myles. I have seen that performance in entirety probably 50 times. These are two of the most underrated hard rock artists of all time. Excellent talk thru of the vocals too. Instant follow!!!!
Finally someone reacts to this video!!
You should check a live version of Alter Bridge's Open Your Eyes.
Thank you SO MUCH for doing Alter Bridge!!! Such an amazing band that doesn’t get as much credit as they deserve.
The final vocal notes of Find the Real are incredible!!!
Also would love to see some Sevendust. Lajon is a monster!!!!
I honestly believe it's a feeling, I can't hear a lot of times and I know my notes by feeling or resonance. It just feels right.
Call us Roariors!
Roariors!
Rawriors? I like it!
Let me offer you a deal: You react to Blackbird and I become a Roarsie...
Greetings from Chile!!!
she did!
Your roar always cracks me up, and I (terrible singer with astma) learn little things from you. Thanks for that.
Their song "Watch Over You" gives this Roary goosebumps every time I hear it.
react to Alter Bridge "In Loving Memory" live, it's a pretty emotional performance
Mark Tremonti is a great case study in itself. He knows his limits & stays lower. Listening to his solo work, he knows exactly what he can do.
