I've actually become a bit of a professional flying the Ki-200, getting about 5 to 6 kills per match and usually surviving to the end. If you can get really good and and survive the repair cost becomes practically nothing even when you do die every so often, simply because of how much money you get in return. Honestly, the Ki-200 is my favorite plane in Warthunder, and I can even out perform Sabers and Migs. A few tips of mine are 1: Only use about 50% throttle most of the time you are in the air. 2: Make sure you use landing flaps when taking off, because it likes to bounce on the runway past 200 KMH, then quickly retract them once off the ground. 3: Try not to head on other planes, if you get caught going head to head with another plane, fire a small burst and quickly turn off, your plane will most likely explode or your pilot will die if you get shot, so use your maneuverability to your advantage. I typically like to do a turn into a half spiral ascending and quickly turn behind the enemy plane. 4: One of my most important points, stay near your allies and stay above or at the same level as your enemies, it will give you an advantage.

It's difficult to ascertain how effective planes like the Komet were because the fuels were so volatile and without strict procedures and maintenance, they could easily mix and explode. Receiving any battle damage would likely have been catastrophic, for similar reasons. But the situation was made even more difficult by the fact that the factories they were built in were often staffed by POWs and dissenters who were actively trying to sabotage the aircraft during production. Germany may have had some brilliant ideas but the conditions they faced made it almost impossible to create something and properly test it before putting it into battle, let alone provide quality assurance.
Chasing a ghost. Rocket motors were suitable for Point Defense interception; a concept soon bankrupt as technologies for standoff and ballistic missiles improved. Once bombers did not have to pass over heavily defended targets in order to bombard them, the need for a Point Defense Interceptor vanished and the age of the long range All Weather Interceptor (and its AA Missiles) began. That's a tactical utility appraisal. Additionally: 1) Soviet BI (and some other) fighter projects used "red fuming" Nitric Acid as an Oxidizer. Glass tanks broke; metal tanks melted; pilots were literally eaten out of their protective suits. That's the origin of the "Gray Alien" trope: acid burned, half dissolved, test pilots*. 2) Deutscher Raketen plane projects pursued both conventional take-off and landing craft like the Me163, and the Ba349, a rail launched Point Defense Interceptor. German oxidizer was "85% pure" Hydrogen Peroxide, another incredibly dangerous stoff to organic tissues. More glass tanks, more pilots eaten alive and the odd inexplicable mid air explosion. *That's what they were testing at Area 51, btw. Odd shapes, rocket propulsion, and pilots eaten out of their suits.

I never knew there was an Israeli F-84 in game until I shot it down with the shilka

my favorite fact is that they had a better kill ratio with the people who worked on them then enemy combatants
wait so that sound that comes from every plane but sounds like a stuka is not a glitch?
No, why would you think thats a glitch, its the result of the sound waves being compressed by high speed, think of the Doppler effect
@@rawhidelamp ah i thought it was a glitch because it sounds so much like the stuka kinda but yeah honestly it makes sense
GAIJIN PLS FIX REPAIR COSTS!!!
Don't you say anything about being first or early okeh? Good.

Additionally:
1) Soviet BI (and some other) fighter projects used "red fuming" Nitric Acid as an Oxidizer.
Pilot? Dead? NONSENSE, he got knocked out.
This is a great channel!!! So glad i found it, the guy talkin has more info about this stuff then ive ever heard, and since no footage exists i will settle for this. Maybe i should get War Thunder
How to use spitfires well
I'm just glad to see the 163 in the official video again as one of the main contents, after the old 'Barrel Roll' series... It's been my favorite vehicle in the game since 2013. Thank you, Gaijin.
I know I said this couple of times, but it's hard to get picked. I had an idea for a competition between early multi turret tanks like independent, t-35, Nb.Fz and so.
That liberator in the background from 0:16 looks like it's chasing the ventura... Oddly terrifying I guess...?
B-24 chasing B-34: "ohh I got your ass now..."
B-34: *"...AHH HEELLLPPPP.....!!!!!!"*
Would have a laugh if War Thunder add the Ohka Kamikaze rocket.
*random Banzai screaming*
You! Turn out thoes pockets! Rocket planes... one two three... Three of them!
So... why is the B-0 still at 8.7? And with that repair cost???????????
Nice work not mentioning that the BI has been unavailable since 2020 and all of these planes have a crippling repair cost for their utility
I feel like rocket planes would be most viable as parasite fighters
Funny you mention that, I recently saw a "Goblin" along with a b-36
If possible make the B1 have the ability to actually user the tail flaps at high speeds because at around 300-400mph they become obsolete
Are you guys gonna bring the maus back as event this year too?
I was unable to get it due to lack of sl to get into rank 4
It isnt worth it and hell no, everybody that already has it wouldnt have anything out of that event.

yes. they said they will bring it annualy. last time the maus returned ws in november 5th, so i expect it to arrive it in early november or late september

Do WarThunder have any event coming up in the summer?
Prob operation S.U.F.F.E.R will be bwck
last 3 years of S.U.F.F.E.R started at first friday of august. so this year of S.U.F.F.E.R might start at 7 aug
It'd be really cool to see some mixed propulsion aircraft in the game, like the sunders roe from the UK and such
You already have the Me 262 Heimatschützer, it has jet and rocket engines
Poland tech tree pls
Poland had very few tanks so it's not worth it
Only real chance for that is some multi nation european tech tree.
Yes, copied tanks
@XxVENOMxX yes, for low tiers mostly innowative light tanks/tankette pre WW2 and some heavier protorypes development stopped by WW2. And it had a ton of modernised/upgraded/remade variants of other nations tanks, not even close to China three copy paste but not extremally different from originals, still would have similar playstyle.
@@Ruhnibert nope, not copied, mostly upgraded and homemade varriants, but still they had little to no possibility of fully domestic tank development afther 1939
There was another variant of the 163 that had cannons facing up and a reflector that auto fired when flown below an enemy bomber.
What’s the function of the tiny propellers on the German rocket planes?
And why the JP ones don’t have it?
It's a security allowing to produce electricity when something else fail (which was very important for this plane, I don't remember why). It was a really good idea, and it's now mandatory on planes (even it's hidden unless it's needed).
@@MrMorvana you’re talking about a RAT ram air turbine. Airbus has them, Boeing has another system I believe

@@iknowwhereyoulive7661 i remember back in 2015 when bombers were like tonks, thicc AND stronk
Well they only fixed the tail of b-17
@@iknowwhereyoulive7661 You mean they’re weak? Yes they are, that’s why they fly in formation irl. Minengeschoß rounds are designed to kill bombers. Also they’re already much tougher than fighters in the game. You have to spray 20mms, while fighters are dead after 3-5 good hits.
whenever i hear of the komet the first thing that comes to mind is my local air museum where they have a me 163 along with the take off wheels but what always stuck was the amount of times they said the risk of the pilot being cremated by the fuel tank that sits just behind the seat
Is that cosford by any chance?
Will there ever be more modern planes like the A-10 and other iconic planes?
I do want the A-10 but the Japanese tech tree has something like that it’s not the m10 but it has the same minigun
Probably yes because war thunder is the type of game that can't die. They Will eventualy add almost every plane ever made
@@j.r.2087 the A-10 is too specific though that’s why I think it would be hard to add because it does not really go anywhere with top tier jets because it’s slow and heavy and flys low to the ground so any spaa or jet will kill it almost instantly
@@humanhuman5024 well there are bombers like that so I think they will. It one of the most requested vehicles.
@@Seems12345 those are generally low tier and won’t meet radar AA or jet planes and the ones that do you can clearly see they don’t work
That’s why I said the warthog would be too good at low br but too bad at high br
It’s the same problem the maus and the e-100 had it does not fit anywhere because too high br makes it get penned by heat but low br makes it way to strong
With Me 163, make sure you don’t pitch up at all, or that rear gear will hit the ground and cause bounce. Keep the pitch at 0 degrees until 300kph, then u use takeoff flaps and pitch up only a tiny bit.

The Komet can also go supersonic at high altitudes. It wants to go past Mach 1.1 but the plane in-game can't handle those speeds.
BI probably can go over Mach 1 too in the game but have fun trying to control that.
No, BI has very low rip speed.
They were certenly an interesting idea, its a shame the fuel was so unstable and volotile for them, the liquid fuel came as a 2 part mixture and when mixed created huge amouts of power to the point that if fuel tanks were not cleaned out properly between flights the aircraft would explode, plus the grusome habbit the fuel had of melting the pilots if any of it leaked into the cabin which given the dodgy landing sled happend more than a fiew times
They could add the Me 163 C variant. Unlike the Ki200, the Me 163 C was used in combat at the time

The rocket powered interceptors and the rocket bombs drew the starting line for the space race, were it not for the recorded flight data, rocket science in the 60s would have been more difficult. All thanks to sir Wernher Von Braun for his rocket designs that we reached the moon, and at a later time, in the 70s we have the Space shuttles capable of suborbit and reentry.
I qould say that the rocket interceptors and the flying bombs are a marvelous piece of technology that helped shape the world as it is today
I find the idea that Soviet Union under Stalin would halt flight tests after one random prole got pancaked to be difficult to wrap my head around.
Whoever was flying that ki-200 clearly has little to no experience in it, that spray hurt me inside
i swear bruce is holding this company together
I think they should have been bigger to carry a bigger payload and the fuel tanks should have been redesigned becuase of the flammability and chance to explode.
Also I don't like the new sound that is made when you pass another aircraft. It was fine in the tailspin event although I didn't play very much of it.
