On todays video the hatchback finally gets the pesky idling issue address, and FIXED. After all these years I finally decided to get off my lazy ass and take a good long look at the problem and some common things that can cause it.

I had an idle surge problem on my 2001 Honda Accord V6. I swapped every part, IACV, throttle position sensor, upstream and downstream O2 sensors, cleaned the catalytic converter, cleaned the intake manifold, new EGR sensor, new throttle body, new intake tube, new MAP sensor. When I would disconnect the MAP sensor, the surge would go away, but it would run rich. I took the new MAP sensor back off with the car running and put the old sensor back on. It fixed the problem by reinstalling the sensor while the car was creating a vacuum in the throttle body. I've been driving the car for 6 months now without the surge coming back. When I changed the part with the car off, it still had the surge. Try changing the MAP sensor with the car running

A set of left handed drill bits will remove that bolt. It will drill in and eventually loosen up enough to just unscrew itself. Also PB Blaster is your friend. Let it sit before trying to unbolt those things usually helps.

Hey can you assist me in getting a new iacv. I'm worried I buy the wrong one, 1996 civic, d15b 2 stg vtec. I have similar issues.
I cleaned my tb and IACV but not the fast idle yet. It helped the 'hunting' idle but apparently my AC doesn't work because there's still an idle issue underlying. It shows up at night when I notice very slight surges on the lights.
      I don't mind trying a new iacv.

Yep! It's tough to have an analog Speedo and Tach show EXACTLY zero, so they basically put the zero mark at around 300 rpm and 6 mph respectively, which is pretty much zero compared to the rest of the scale.
      Thanks for the reply!
The car does run but it might consume a little more fuel since the ECU (wrongly) reads the IACV to calculate the mixture.
Other than that, it's just a small annoyance.
Oh and by the way, you could try cutting a slot in that broken screw, and using a flathead screwdriver to remove it.
Or, use a center punch to mark an indent which should keep the drill bit from moving around.
Or, since you've already threaded a screw through it, you could use larger and larger diameter drill bits until it barely has any metal left (it should move way sooner than that).
Just be careful not to damage the threads.
Finally, if you mix 50% ATF and 50% acetone, you get an awesome diy penetrating fluid that could help loosen up any oxidation / rust that might have built up between the threads.
With that said, since it just holds a little cover in place, it shouldn't come undone anytime soon, but if you ever get back to it, or get another broken bolt, you might wanna give those a try.
Best regards! I'm subbing to your channel.

I got a new used thottle body with all the sensors and the fast idle valve because the screws on the old one are both broken. The new one has the high idle prob too so I have to remove the two screws again but this time without breaking them. And in this video I can see that you just drilled them out by hand. Off rip you could try adjusting the idle speed screw on your throttle body (steps/specs are online for your engine).
I know sometimes the fuel filter could cause similar problems but ive never experienced this.
