Just liked and subscribed your channel!! I’m hoping to fly to India and was wondering how Air India was. Thus came across your video. Thanks for the review!
Nice to come across your channel. We welcome you to visit India again. Do try out Air India ex Delta or Etihad 777s. Also try Indigo the biggest low cost major. And do land at Mumbai, Delhi T3 and Bangalore T2. And do keep on with your genuine n honest report. Waiting ..
Thank you very much for your nice comment. I’m hoping to visit India again soon, and much longer. I‘ve heard Indigo is a very efficient and punctual LCC, so I‘m looking forward to try them as well.
@@forgotmypassport yes Indigo is indeed very efficient. Also fly Akasa the newest LCC and regional Star Air Blr - Gbi. When in India use Uber for cabs, and stay in branded properties for best experiences. Google places, foods etc instead of getting ripped by touts etc.
Dear Chris, another trip report worth seeing! 👍 These seats are indeed retro style but I have to admit that I really like them a lot. 😊 They are comfy and absolutely fine for a flight about this lenght. I haven't flown AI and never considered doing so, don't ask me why not - I guess just because. 🤔 Glad to see you had a good experience with them so far and hope you have a great first time in India. Enjoy and take care! Kind regards, Simone 🙋✈🌅🍛🍵
Last minute aircraft change is very annoying your whole experience can change dramatically. Overal not too bad but I think the competition is high at this part of the world you have to renew the cabin at least. Good report again Chris 👍👍
Thank you Melih. I agree, and I hope the new cabin will not be a 'downgrade‘, as a few airlines did to a certain degree with a newer, but more uncomfortable business class.
Kia Ora Chris, I can see the tiredness of that particular aircraft, and for me I would probably never want to fly Air India with so many negative comments however glad you enjoyed the flight. 🙂. I must say though the views from your Window Seat looked spectacular overlooking both Cities! Love watching your Vids as it helps me with some of my decisions when planning future trips! Thanks Chris and keep them coming 🙂
Thank you for the lovely comment, much appreciated:)) The view from this particular flight was indeed wonderful, especially after departure from Bangkok. I guess I was lucky this time. Very happy to hear that my videos provide some guidance. Much more is coming:)
Hi Chris, thank you for the video. I enjoyed watching it. I must agree with other comments. I saw your seat as a poor premium economy seat rather than a business class seat, and depending on the price you paid, I would have been disappointed overall (especially if you were expecting a 787). These videos are very informative nevertheless, so thankyou. J
@@forgotmypassport looking forward to see u in india sir , u should travel to southern India discover the beauty of wildlife and natural beauty of western ghats of goa , karnataka , kerala. Sounds good:) I was considering Andaman and Nicobar Islands on my previous trip, but I saw special permission is needed to get there. Still on my bucket list.
Coming from Australia, Bangalore is one of my favourite cities in India. Definitely try to go there Chris. The South is generally a pleasant place to visit, even Hyderabad which, I suppose, isn't quite "south" but a very friendly place and with much interesting history. The heir to Hyderabad's royal family used to live in my city in Australia and I had met him so I was particularly interested to visit his home city.
Have you ever flown domestically in the United States? Similar flights in terms of distance and time are anything but pleasant. Even in Europe it is not that great. Old planes, unfriendly crews and no food is the norm. International flights by US or European carriers is not much better.
Thank you for the comment. I have flown many times domestically in the US, but never made a video. Not a fan at all, but my recent UA international flight was surprisingly good, at least for North American / European measures.
If I paid for business class and got the kind of premium economy seating you got I wouldn't be impressed. Typical Indian "if it's broken it stays broken," appalling to see on an aircraft. Especially when the new owners are supposedly upgrading the airline. Surprised you were pleased with the flight.
Thanks for the comment. I think I’m traumatized by the European style Business where you sit on Economy Class seats with Economy Class legroom. Compared to that, this AI Business Class was heaven. Anyway, despite the defects, the seat was very comfortable and the service great. And the current airline transformation is still ongoing, so I took that into account well.
wow! That jet was in horrible. I personally would not trust flying a company that uses masking tape to hide or repair anything on an aircraft. Sadly India is a very poor country and government corruption runs rampant so it’s not the fault of the crew and I am glad they were nice to you.
Sadly ur mindset is much poorer..India is the 5th largest & 4trillion economy in the world…Coming back to the condition of the seat..it’s because till last year Air India was a Govt owned Airline but now it has been privatised so it’ll take atleast 2 yrs to return back to its glory..But knowledge deprived brain of yours can’t understand that for sure and commenting rubbish which u ppl are habitual of.
I had no idea this type of business class seat still existed. I am so glad i saw this, would never fly Air India unless they improve. Thank you so much for sharing
I saw these kind of seats a couple of times the past few years, and I actually prefer them over the European style business class. Air India is changing big time at the moment, so with the new aircraft on order, new seats might come as well.
I will never flight air india. It was the worst experience of my life. Ticket was one of the most expensive. On an 8 hours international flight, nothing was working, no movies, no music, no headphones, no light for reading, staff very unpolite and crappy food.. Like the worst nightmare ever. Don't flight air India
When did you fly? I believe a lot has changed or still will change now with Tata in control. I‘m planning to try out Air India again, to experience the difference. I hope you liked my review anyway.
I was also expecting a lie flat, since a B787 was planned originally. Is it a thumbs down for my video? I was hoping the video deserves a thumbs up, even when the airline doesn’t :((
With no offense to air India this do not look like an international business class . They should not use A320 for international routes as it creates very bad impression about our country. Air India should operate 787 or 777-ER for international routes always, even if they wanna use small aircrafts it needs huge upgrades
Thank you for your comment. I hope that Air India will introduce an international (or generally more updated) business class with their upcoming fleet. Would be interesting to review them again.

The Food Aboard Air India Are To Spicy For Me.Great Trip Report
Thank you so much. Maybe it depends on the route and daytime. My breakfast wasn’t spicy at all, but not sure how lunch would have been ;-)
I'm not vegetarian but on Air India I used to order the vegetarian meals. I like the spice and don't miss the meat.😊

I'm flying this route on the 8:50am flight and there wasn't a business seat or premium option. Alas.
Mine was also the 8.50 flight if i remember correctly. Was supposed to be a B787 at the time of booking. Luckily I still got a business class.
I have a feeling the plane and class may change on my plane.. Thanks again.@@forgotmypassport

It would be a waste to run a 777 or 787 on short haul routes like Bangkok,Vietnam,Indonesia..Company has to take in overall for a particular route
They have 777-ER and 777-LR for flights to USA and some of those flights are ex-Delta planes with decent interior cabins.
