Pretty sweet that they had a Hemi V8 on the rental lot and nice job w/ the review. BTW the fuel economy is 16 city/25 hwy for the Hemi. The 19/30 you mentioned is for the V6. There is no V8 that I've ever seen getting 30 mpg--that would be amazing.
+The Test Drive Ahhh! Another stupid mistake on my part. Blast it. Well, thanks for letting me know. I'll try and pin your comment on top so people know. I'd do it right now, bit I'm on the mobile app and I don't see that option. Anyway, thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to point out my mistake. I really do appreciate it.
100 Rental Cars rented one this Friday and i drove from Las Vegas to Los Angeles that was awesome i got a little less then 23 because i was pushing it because it was so fun to drive. I used to not care for the 5.7 but i respect this beast.
I got 29.8 mpg average on a road trip last year in my 16 RT (all freeway) The MDS system (vehicle shuts off 4 cylinders when just cruising) really helps in saving gas.
@@p71josh impressive. I saw a guy reset his mpg and he was cruising his charger scatpack at 65 mph with 4 cylinders running and he started off with 39.7 mpg (he ended up with 27 because he eventually rose the speed to 75 mph with the ac running while going up and down a few times in about 300 miles)
Unless they've changed the way the door locks operate, you do not need to touch the little button on top of the outer door handle to open the door. That is the lock button. You just put your fingers under the handle and pull and the car should unlock if you're within proximity with the keys. You push the button to lock/sound the horn when leaving the vehicle.
+Grimm and Lily I think that's true of some cars, but not all. I'm in the Chevy Impala now and you do have to touch the button to unlock it...at least I'm pretty sure you do. I'm going to play around with it and shoot a quick video. I'll post it in a day or two. Take a look and let me know what you think.
+J.R. Elgran 140? Whoa. I don't doubt that for a second. Man do I miss this car. That growl when it starts up just makes me smile. How long have you had yours?
100 Rental Cars No problem! I’ve watched every single one of your videos! And thanks for the comment! It’s been wild lately. I’ve got some stuff filmed already, it’s just putting it together and recording the voice-overs that’s looming over my head!
+Neighborhood Car Reviews Every single one? Thanks! And yeah, the editing and voiceover work is tough, right? I enjoy it, but sometimes it's hard to find the time. That's another reason I'm so impressed with your channel. You're a machine! Keep it up.
100 Rental Cars Yes sir! I’ve seen all of yours! I get lazy a couple times and go a week or so before uploading. I don’t always like doing the voiceovers because writing the scripts sometimes take a while. The most fun one to date is my most recent one. The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT392. That is a BEAST!!
Two months ago in May I rented a 2022 Dodge Charger R/T hemi from Avis. This was at Ft. Lauderdale International Airport. The airport lots are loaded with a lot of cars. Anyone wanting to rent the R/T's go do the pickup at the airport. Was very happy with the rental. This Charger had the Blacktop package. Emblems, trim , wheels ,etc were blacked put. It had 7100 miles on the odometer. Performance was outstanding with the v-8 Hemi engine. Gas mileage was excellent. I was getting 28 mpg on the highway at 80 mph. Gas mileage in the city was very good too. Two weeks ago I rented from hertz the 2022 Chrysler 300. This one had a v6. What was interesting is the that the V-6 Chrysler 300 only got 30 miles per gallon. Just 2 mph more than the Charger Hemi. For those thinking or deciding to go v6 or Hemi if buying new from the dealership; go for the Hemi. 2 mpg is really no fuel savings. The Hemi is a lot of fun to drive. Overall, Was very pleased with the Dodge Charger R/T. Good ride and comfortable. Only thing I didn't like were the driver seat bolsters. They stick out too far making entry and exit from the car a little difficult. I found myself sliding the seat back to give extra room for a little easier entry and exit. Trunk space was very good. Plenty of room. I had the Charger for about 5 days. Was very pleased with the rental. Would definetly rent a Dodge Charger R/T again. I highly recommend to the TH-camrs out there to rent one for a few days. You'll definetly love it.
Colleen Rudder dont forget the challengers. They are both very nice and beautiful cars in my opinion. I myself dont actually know which one i want. I know i want an SRT 392 minimum from both parties, i just dont know if it should be a 2 door or a 4 door
+Vincent D Pooh, I've never rented the 300. Only the 200 last year...I think, it's getting harder and harder to keep track. And yes, you MUST rent a Charger with a HEMI. It's worth the extra cost.
I love these chargers, it's little annoying that it's possible to get the 8.4 touch screen without a back up camera. I know someone who has a 2008 R/T he bought brand new and it has over 250k miles now and it looks flawless. My dad rented one of these and he said it was the best rental car he's ever had. I've got my next rental car in 2 weeks and I'm praying that avis has one of these in stock... Great review! Kind of ironic that this is number 57, and has a 5.7
+6 16CivicMT #57 with a 5.7!?! I hadn't even noticed. And I'll keep my fingers crossed that AVIS has one for you. If they do, be sure to tell me what you think.
100 Rental Cars Funny you said something just now I'm sitting at a dinner table without man who owns the charger, I hadn't seen it in about 2 months it still looks flawless. Original powertrain and everything. Just routine maintenance
I LOVE this machine! Some out there consider anything made by Chrysler to be junk, but I stll find it attractive and would consider getting an AWD version in GoMango or what they call Steel Blue (I believe). Great review, as usual, mate. The Challenger is interesting also but it's too much of a land yacht, if you know what I mean. It just seems that way. The Charger appears to be just right. Maybe it's the four doors that give the Charger the illusion of being more streamlined. Whatcha think? Peace...♐
+AladdinSaneNYC I'm not sure how much smaller the Challenger is, but I agree, it does feel very long when you're driving it. I prefer the Charger. Much easier to drive and I like having a real backseat and trunk. And I hope you do get one in Go Mango! It'll look great. Hit me up if/when you get it.
100 Rental Cars Yes, very easy to drive and good gas millage. A bit slow to downshift and the infotainment/ navi weren't very user friendly. Overall it seemed like a nice car for the money.
So I rented a 2022 Dodge Charger RT brand new like it had only 15 miles on it and it had the blacktop package too and it was sick and I actually kind a got a discount on it and Best believe I was having fun with that also I was shock because I’m used to only seeing the V6 chargers
Great review! One question, I'm currently booking a "full size" car category through Alamo LAX, so is it possible to secure a Dodge Charger? Because it will be my first time visiting USA, so I'd love to drive a great American car! I didn't want to end up driving a boring Camry, hahaha
Thank you for the kind words! I gotta be honest, I don't think you're going to get a car like this from Alamo. You probably will end up with something like a Camry or an Impala. But don't worry, both are good cars too. Anyway, have a save trip. And let me know what you do rent. I've love to hear your thoughts on it. Cheers!
Thanks for the reply! Actually, I'll be driving from LA to SF with 2 passengers so I want to make sure to get the best car for driving long distances, both in terms of performance and comfort. I might keep an eye on Fusion, Impala, or Malibu, I think.
I've come back from my USA trip and luckily there were two Chargers in the midst of countless of Altimas, Camrys, or Malibus. Although they were all the V6 base version, it was still really good and more than enough for highway driving! The best thing is the infotainment, which was very easy to use with good connectivity + Apple CarPlay. I think the HEMI variant is reserved for the premium section, though.
Man i want him to drive the 392 hemi or even the hellcat. He seems like an average guy so it would be very interesting for him to test drive the 392 hemi or the supercharged hemi
+Y.B.V. on ur screen I'd love to! That kind of power isn't usually available at the places I rent my cars from. But, I've started looking some places online that let you "rent" from actual car owners. Got a suggestion on what I should try to get first? I was thinking Tesla, but a Hellcat could be fun too.
100 Rental Cars i hope you get that opportunity. You seem like a regular car reviewer so if you're lucky enough to go to a dodge dealer and they allow you to test drive a scatpack, daytona/TA 392, SRT 392, or even the hellcat, congrats and expect me to see that video and your reaction to the immense power
I not sure. I rent so often that I get upgraded all the time. So I don't know if this is a premium rental, but it's definitely not a standard rental. You don't see many of these on the rental car lot. And just a word of warning, but most rental car places cannot guarantee a specific type of car for you. They can only get you a similar class. The exception is Enterprise's exotics locations which rent out high end cars and SUVs.
"Not gonna get good gas mileage..." Says this in the same sentence he says a 400hp V8 gets 19/30mpg. I don't know if you know this or not, but that IS good mileage.
+Mopar11 Yeah, if you drive like my Grandma!!! My numbers came from Motor Trend, BTW. Not sure who's right, but I think it's safe to say it's a very fast car.
+Yakabitch B Slow, really? I haven't driven a lot of fast cars, so I don't have much to compare it to. What do think I should drive next? Something really fast.
Nic Drake people who say a car that gets 0-60 in 5.3 sec.s or better is slow I'd like to see what they drive it's not slow and all the guys saying get a 392 tell your insurance company you drive that watch that price skyrocket
1:36 ignoring that stop sign without any regard and actually hitting the gas! you're a rebel! lol
I try! In my defense, it's a closed weigh station off the Interstate. There's no cars around or any chance of a pedestrian.

With this car, you put your fingers under the handle and it automatically unlocks. If you push the black button on the handle, that locks it.
@@pewsreviewsandstews5470 Right, you don't even have to touch anything. Just get your hand close and it will unlock.
That's actually better fuel economy than I thought it would get
From a RT guy it can get up to 140 with ease
+J.R. Elgran 140? Whoa. I don't doubt that for a second. Man do I miss this car. That growl when it starts up just makes me smile. How long have you had yours?
100 Rental Cars around 13 months. th-cam.com/video/vg-JY17bv5U/w-d-xo.html
100 Rental Cars Also after a couple 7 hour or so road trips the gas mileage will shock you, very good for a v8 true muscle car.
Crazy! And you're not even flying by the other car on the road. They must drive pretty fast in Mexico.
Really? Well that's good to hear. I'm seriously considering buying one of these. It's just too much fun to drive. Happy New Year!
Love the Destroyer Gray.

I also rented one recently. Very easy to get into trouble in this car. I want one now.
Right? I found myself going 90 several times without even realizing it. It's so quick! Man I miss this car...
What a beautiful, beautiful car. I’ve always been a dodge fan (as seen by my profile picture) and I think this is my new favorite color!
