Anyone who has seen them in concert knows they sound just like this...identical to their albums. I saw them in 1979 when I was in the 9th grade and Kevin's voice is awesome and Gary's guitar playing is over the top. RIP Gary Richrath who passed in 2015
@dgator3599 REO Speedwagon are still touring. I saw them this year (March 2024) they are still sounding good. Kevin's voice is still awesome, and he still sounds good (at the age of 72) and top notch skipping around the stage playing his guitar, and of course playing the piano. REO rocked the house, I can say it was the best concert I've been to. After other bands either broke up or stopped touring, REO never stopped touring and has been steady at it for at least fifty years. Kevin and Bruce Hall in this video are the only two who are still with the band. They are currently on their summer tour with the band Train.
The lead singer is Kevin Cronin who wrote the song, the awesome guitar player is Gary Richrath (RIP), the keyboard/organ player is Neal Doughty, the bass player is Bruce Hall, and keeping the beat going on the drums is Alan Gratzer. Kevin Cronin's vocal delivery sets him apart from other rock and roll lead vocalists. Kevin will be 73 years old in October (he still sounds good), and Bruce Hall are still touring with new members. These guys still sound great. I saw them in March 2024 these guys rocked the house along with Rick Springfield. Gary Richrath passed away in 2015, Neal Doughty retired almost two years ago, and Alan left the band in the late '90's.
Lucky to live in Illinois in the late 60s and early 70s where I saw them at the University of Illinois bar scene at Chances R and The Red Lion in Champaign, IL. REO forever!!!!
This is a feel good song. I’m glad it made you feel good. Your body language said so. Job complete. Go REO. Caution this song can also make you drive faster in the fast lane!
LOVE you two. Keep-a-Rockin. I really like your style. Big shoutout from this old, longhaired, rocker dude in the mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Much peace and lots of love to you and yours. Bless you. Go with God. Later.
I saw them in 1987 and by the end of the show we were all standing on our chairs jumping up and down. It was a natural high! I hope to hear you guys react to some more REO!
Looking forward to taking my 21 year old son and his 22 year old wife to church tomorrow on a Saturday night when the REO Speedwagon tour makes a stop in Oklahoma.
REO was my first concert at age 14! Incredible! Over the years this song has meant the most to me. I often fight against change. The lyrics remind me life is change. And I need to chill ❤. And that we need to realize when we need to change things about ourselves.
Awesome review! BTW they are still touring and this is always their encore song and everyone from age 16 to 60 is on their feet "Rollin With The Changes"
This was one of my favorite songs for a minute. I love the change over from Neil on the piano/keyboard to Gary guitar. Too bad the "changes" they were talking about was their change in their overall product with "Hi Infidelity" It got them their well-deserved millions but was a drastic change to the dark side of HI. I bought the album the day it was released. Listened to it twice and sent it to my 12-year-old sister and said, "you're gonna love this". She didn't. She couldn't even believe it was REO. They're still touring. THIS was the good stuff. It's a crime they're not in the R&R HOF A few other great REO late 70's check out "157 Riverside Ave", "Golden Country" and "Ridin' the storm out".
A great song. Unfortunately, the music heard in the video is the studio recording, not live. How do I know? Because I've played the song at least 100 times or more in the last couple of years. So either they were doing a Milli Vanilli, or the audio was added after the event was taped. Sometimes it's difficult to get a good live recording, unless you take the feed from the mixer board. But even then, you should be able to hear a difference. Generally, most bands play their songs either faster or slower in concert.
One of the things that makes REO different from a lot of bands is the keyboards in every song. This is one of the few songs that has an organ solo and a guitar solo and they blended them so well. This is in the top 5 of all time rock songs on my list. Amazingly it never even hit the top 40 in 1978 yet it's probably their most popular songs with their fans. Shows you how stupid people were back then.
sadly this version leaves out one of the best parts of the song...the beginning!!! Studio version is better (this IS the studio version, which is played over the live action, but missing the beginning).

Lead singers vocal delivery was so unique powerful and fun!!!!!

Gary Ritchrath was very underrated as a lead guitarist

I would've loved seeing them in a local bar. I saw them '78 at McNichols arena opening for Foghat. I thought they kicked Foghat's ass.
REO Speedwagon is one of the best bands of the 80's.
70s
Two blazing guitar solos and a lit organ solo
watching all reactions to this song today...you'll the best and i've seen 20
God bless you for this one
Gawd I love this song. Y'alls reaction is the same one that I have EVERY DANG TIME!! Keep on Rollin'!
This is a feel good song. I’m glad it made you feel good. Your body language said so. Job complete. Go REO. Caution this song can also make you drive faster in the fast lane!
The perfect song.
Don’t know if you noticed the album name, YOU CAN TUNE A PIANO, BUT YOU CAN’T TUNA FISH. Haha. Yeah, that Hammond organ took us to church.
You can tune a piano but you can't tune a fish.
you can't tunafish!
I respectfully disagree...lol
One the best songs for a workout playlist. I wish I could tell you how many miles I’ve run listening to this song. “You got to keep on rollin!”
Their best work!!!

That's Neil Doherty on the keyboards my homie from East Alton Illinois. We're both from around St Louis
Their best song ever in my opinion….

Great reaction ❤😊

Those were the days 😂🎉
REO is many a hard rockers guilty pleasure band🤘❤️
Kevin Cronin is amazing! One of the best lead vocalists! Minus Steve Perry and Robert Plant❤❤❤ REO a very under rated band!!!
Pride of Champaign Illinois
Like you kids..roll with the changes🎉

A cool reaction video, thanks for sharing.
Ultimate road song. Spirit! What a band. Thanks!!
Even though this video is live the recording here is the studio recording and there was a choir in the studio recording.
Awesome review! BTW they are still touring and this is always their encore song and everyone from age 16 to 60 is on their feet "Rollin With The Changes"
REO was my first concert. I was 15 and the ticket was $7. ❤
So much enjoyed seeing you enjoy them❤
Regret I never saw them live. Great music and as you just saw great live concerts❤
This is one hell of a RABBIT HOLE!!! Welcome to one of the bands that helped shape the 80's rock sound..
REO Speedwagon formed in 1967. They cultivated their followers in the 1970’s, and commercial success in the 80’s.
An amazing band!
Gosh I love this song ❤
That was great.

Last song people!

Yes, studio music synced with a live video.
🔥

3 days later and just 10 comments; goes to show people don't know good reactors or good music when they hear it.
