- Welcome on board the newest Emirates A380 Business Class product on the retrofitted A380 on this ultra long haul flight to Melbourne, Australia!
In the past two years many have been requesting me flights to Australia and now that I had to attend the Australian Open 2024 the moment has finally come!
There are plenty of airline choices Down Under but there is only one that came up to my mind for this trip, and that is Emirates!
They are the official airline for the Australian Open 2024 and knowing the airline like I do I knew I would be able to expect something special to celebrate the event, and I was not wrong!
Join me on this incredible journey and I’ll show you what specials Emirates had in store for us and I’ll give you a tour of this retrofitted A380.

The only thing that I dont like about the A380 are the windows, the gap is too thick between the two layers, from a spotter's point of view this makes it hard to film / shoot pics...
I strongly dislike those windows!!! Terrible for filming. But the experience is unbeatable..
I agree mate I always feel slightly disappointed at the lack of wide angled vision through the windows however, everything else about the A380 makes up for it in my opinion 💪
Oh sorry nothing we can do about it may be Airbus redesign oh no the stop production I am so sorry

If the windows are too thin, it gets cold in the cabin.

Alex. Excellent video you nailed it. Have done Brisbane Dubai Manchester return 4 times in the last 18 months and have upgraded to business. Once you have experienced business it is hard to go back downstairs. The food the service and the lie flat beds are just an unbelievable step up. To anyone contemplating a flight on Emirates try and book business and always an A380. Do it just once. You won’t regret it. Go on treat yourselves.

The Dubai 🇦🇪 business class lounge is magnificent.
I try to make use of the shower spa each time I fly.
I found a Cathay Pacific advertisement that flight Fuzhou Changle International Airport to Dubai International Airport via Hong Kong International Airport, would Layover Aviation want book this ticket?
Flew A380 Emirates business class four times, love flying Emirates, the crew on board EXCELLENT, but the airport in Dubai very big and sterile, I have the feeling the government of UAE showing off their wealth and the human rights is appalling through the whole of the Middle East, but Emirates as an airline is absolute excellent.
Done 6 flights through Dubai in just over 2 years. Ive only ever found the big BC lounge once. I think it must be in concourse B. I always seem to come through A or C concourse and end up in one of their tiny lounges. First world problem i know.
Just booked another trip to Europe next year. Cant wait. Which is why im watching the videos lol
EMIRATES BUSINESS CLASS made my trip to Dubai 🇦🇪/ Seychelles and Maldives fantastic.

Lovely video! Great to see the retrofitted A380 spread its wings to more cities. The food look quite nice, breakfast seemed unique. Beautiful AM arrival, I hope the Melbourne weather was a bit nicer for you and your team as the trip went on! Can't wait for that Qantas review :)
Their business class product is truly amazing. Its the skylounge and the homely feel on board that sets them apart. Haven't felt as much at home on emirates than on any other airlines business class.
SQs also really good, both the a350 and the a380; emirates is just personal pref

It is curious that airlines were quick to shed their A 380s apart from the Middle Eastern companies, but are now scrambling to put them back in service. Your experience demonstrates just how good the craft is for passengers on a long haul trip ( unavoidable for Australians) Hope you had a great time in Australia, weather a bit strange, unusual for us this time of the year. Hi Alex - Im just so impressed with your trip report. Having flown BC from the UK out to Australia on Emirates it reminded me of how superior their product is. Everything down to the seats, crew and food inc their incredible selection of fine wines. Not cheap but well worth the money IMHO.The prices have certainly shot up since Covid. Love the new retro fitted look. ...and the pyjamas !! Also enjoyed your insider knowledge of the flaps and ailerons-I will look out for those on my next trip trip out to Bali next month. I believe this is a new route for them.Happy Travels ✈
Kathryn. As a heads up. If you want to save a truckload flying to Australia in BC, by return flights from UK to Singapore. Then points or economy to Aus. Im in Perth. BC to Europe return is between 8k and 9k. We fly from Singapore return its around 4k. Makes it so much more affordable. Just booked our 4th Europe trip in BC on Emirates for next year. Cant wait. A380 on Emirates for me is when the holiday begins. Just get so excited getting on. Lol

I recently went to Thailand with Emirates in economy with an A380 and a Boeing 777ER. The A380 is really awseome compared to the 777. What the let down was for me with Emirates was the food in Economy both trips back and forth. But other then that it was great. Love your videos I'm here from the beginning and love every video. keep up the good work.

Greetings Alex! The consistency of EK is just an unmatched level! The warmth and care of cabin crew just stands out! Michelin star food and drinks just top notch! Great video as always. The loungewear is so good, you’ll get to feel the texture on your flight from AKL 😃 . It’s unlike any other PJ I have. I asked for two and I got 3. I don’t use it to sleep but to roam around the house or cold hotel rooms.
I was also told the entire Business Class service will change soon, hopefully before your flight.
April 15th at the moment I am free but it could all change on a short notice. We however stay in touch and see if we can catch up here in DXB! Thanks for writing Flip! Always happy to read your comments.
🤔 I wonder how can you eat so much!! Do you eat less in the lounge to save for the king breakfast in the skies or got to the washroom regularly? For me I am full by eating just a plate of rice and some meat or veggies. To eat this amount of food i will have to be hungry the whole day to gain this amount of appetite 😁. BTW I love 😘 food but I can eat all of it 🤤

TBH I was always a bit hesitant when it came to all the enthusiasm and praise of EK's 380 ops, but having (finally) flown them (luckily in the upper deck) last month I now understand what all the fuss is all about :) (and the refurbished cabin does look much sleeker than the old).
Thank you for sharing best so far only economy 😃 but this is a bucket list ....

Great video, and wow I did not know about the flap deployment after takeoff if the speed goes below a certain threshold, very interesting.
Also the first time I experience it on the A380! I texted an A380 Captain friend of mine and asked about it, not even he saw it happing from that perspective.

A good review. Flown Emirates many times from London Heathrow, Madrid and Barcelona as I now live in Spain. Last Christmas flew Qatar from Madrid. The food was good, service good but the aircraft was cramped after the 777 or A380 of Emirates. The seat in front was broken so they fell in my lap, my screen was faulty for the 7 hour flight but no help from cabin crew or customer service. Unless their prices are really cheap, I will go back to Emirates.
How is it possible to consume this many drinks 😂
This A380 flies over my house when it returns to Dubai. But somedays, it flies over the Indian Ocean.
Qatar Airways Q-suites are a superior business class option.
I would like to see the immigration and passport officers and how they deal with people arriving through airports to Australia in general and Melbourne in particular ✈️🛫🛂🛃🧳🇦🇺🤔

Great video, Alex. No treats for the cabin crew this time? Did EK add a layer of padding to the A 380s? I never heard the flap actuators doing their thing. How much sleep did you get on this flight?

Great video dude! loved the commentary on the flaps & ailerons, no other peps are doing that. Plus credit to Emirates, that is a massive improvement in their Business Class and looks superb - having to re-think my never-again Emirates policy! I wanted to comment but did not. My husband was with a truly wonderful Airline in Canada (CP Air long time ago). Sadly it was bought out in the late 1990s. We travelled as much as we could with two young boys back in the day. Today one is a Captain here and my younger son is working on his Commercial Lisc. Travelling with your young child/children will be so rewarding. I got so many lovely comments from people when they used to see our boys. Even at 4 or 5 years old they would tell people who had conversations with them that they wanted to be Captains. We are originally from the UK so had no family here. Every Christmas we would go out to Hawaii, leaving a few feet of snow and ice behind. Flight time from YYZ to HNL direct on a 747 in the 1980s and 1990s was appromimately 14 hours. I look forward to working my way through your videos. Sorry for long message.✈
