I have searched all of TH-cam many times to try and find the best rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. This is BY FAR the greatest I have ever heard. That song is very special to me, however I cannot put into words the experience of hearing it from Isabel. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

I think most people, perhaps especially agnostics like me, are very touched (and improved) by this song. So it was strange to see the man sitting next to Isabel being so indifferent. Maybe that happens if a person is always going to church listening to beautiful music with lofty sentiments, he gets jaded. Of course, he might not know English, but the meaning of most of the words is guessable from Dutch. By the way, I read that it made Lincoln cry when he heard it. I can say now that I have something in common with our country's greatest president!

A nice version and it does have the correct lyric in the last verse ("die to make men free"). It sounds like she doesn't speak English and learned it phonetically, quite a feat.
She probably does not speak English. The opening credits are written in Dutch. I believe this was performed in the Netherlands. Absolutely incredible, nonetheless. This video deserves millions of views.
