What year? I hate riding in the heat and the RT doesn't bake me either. It's just miserable. Once it gets to 105-110, I am out. I've done 117. Never again. Are you in AZ?
@@my.motorrad It's a '14. I just got home from riding downtown Phoenix for lunch. It's a good round trip ride but even today at 83° I'm drenched from my gear. I've rode up to 112°, not by choice. It's the worst at lights as you know. I'm not that far in North Scottsdale on the other side of the McDowell Mountains.
It's what the cops out here ride. Actually, the newer versions that are liquid cooled. The R1250RT is much more of a beast. 136hp and 105ft/lbs torque on the new ones and that's from a 1250. Unfortunately they only can be ordered with everything or nothing. Used to be you could order a la carte. No more. The 2021's which have a lot of updates are at least 27k OTD. Lots of stuff on them, I just don't want all of it. Thanks for stopping by!
Nice bike. Would you keep it if you got a Harley? I am getting to where I can't bear to get rid of older bikes but have extra costs for insurance and registration plus storage issues.
I’d keep it no matter what I got. They’d kill me on a trade too and then it would be like why? to save $20 a month on payments? Anything I’ve parted with, I usually regret.
The RT? Broken throttle body pulleys. It's a known issue that BMW won't address. see my video, BMW needs to F off. Fuel Strip too, but that was done under extended recall and the fuel pump was replaced under a safety recall, but I had no issues with it. One of the arms for the electric windscreen broke last year, but I fixed it. I have a video on that too.
Sweet bike! I'm also riding an R1200RT and really enjoy it. Just trying to get more rides in before we hit 100 F.

@@CorgiDaddy I live on the other side of the mountains. I don’t go to phoenix often. I was at GOAZ Tuesday. More on That later.
Cool, thanks! Ride safe 🏍️👍🇿🇦
Great vid. The police around Atlanta used to ride those back in the day. Good looking bike 👍👍

Is the BMW tank bag mount built in to the bike stock?
The bike has attachment slots that the stock bag locks into. They are in a bezel that goes over the top of the gas tank.
Nice walk around and bike.
Thanks Larry! I hope you had a great weekend!
