U would imagine the ones actually doing the work and putting their lives on the line and who probably without them the business would go nowhere would be the ones making the most instead of the ones sitting in the office watching and talking idk I guess it's just me

Yes but the skills, experience and expertise to do those jobs is extremely hard to come by and without those people a lot of operations wouldn't be possible, so you need insensitives to keep those people offshore.
It is not the case for many jobs that we consider dangerous on oil rigs, although the drilling technicians are extremely well paid as are the industrial climbers and divers.
Many people do a few courses then work a season or 2 on oil rigs like helping with cleaning, repair, scaffolding and they are not paid very much compared to many people that have specific qualifications, but it does make sense at the same time since it's just a supply and demand thing.

Subsea engineers should make at least 500k-700k yearly because that’s the most extreme job

For personal reasons, I will not identify myself at this time, but I will ask for help on which position I can apply for and the average salary I should ask for, assuming that I am a recent graduate.
I am not North American, I am Brazilian in the process of qualified immigration to Canada, but I want to settle in the USA.
      I have the following qualifications:
      1. Associate Degree in Data Science (2100 hours).
      2. Associate Degree in Mechanical Manufacturing (2700 hours).
      3. Associate Degree in Industrial Mechatronics (2700 hours).
      4. I only have 3 semesters left until I get my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (4700 hours).
      5. Specialization in Welding Engineering (370 hours).
      6. Specialization in Pipeline Engineering (400 hours).
      7. Specialization in Engineering of offshore oil and gas structures (360 hours).
What position or positions am I eligible for in your country and what is the average salary should I request?
      Thanks.

If I knew or even thought about 20 years earlier. Some positions sound really interesting. And even when its for a few years it would pay of

Industrial mechanics is probably the closest to skilled labour on the rigs that have stable positions. You can always do courses for offshore scaffolding along with offshore safety courses then you could maybe land a job, but the second work drys up its usually those people that get let go first

In one of your previous off-shore drilling videos, you said the workers don’t do their own laundry while on the rig. Who does it? I’d like to apply for THAT job 😂 I’m qualified and I bet it pays well. Where do I sign up to be the laundry girl on the oil rig 😄😂👌

There was money in the industry 15 - 20 years ago. The money stagnated a long time ago. Unless working directly for the owner your a third class citizen on board. That’s eating after company reps, multiple occupancy accommodation, none prioritised travel. Outside Europe a lot of platforms are supported with the import of cheap labour Italy offshore painters, caterers, scaffolders were Croatian, Mexico offshore we had other south Americans Americans & even Russians all on much lower rates & longer offshore rotations. Even with divers last job Indonesia we had Asia divers component but again cheap.
