- This is the Alpine A290_β, a new hot hatch concept from Alpine, Renault's F1 identity. A fully electric, powerful hot hatch which takes inspiration from the F1 track is just as fun to drive as it sounds.
We got hands on with the Alpine A290_β at Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. Let us know what you think in the comments!

If someone made a lightweight electric hatch like this or a lightweight electric coupe, then they'd sell like hotcakes. It would also be nice if the driver could hear the high pitched battery whine that batteries make at full throttle, would make EVs more exciting imo.
Batteries don't make the whining noise it's either the electric speed controller or the motor itself also could be gears whining but the battery I've never heard a battery whining.
The Ioniq 5N will be close to it. But electric will never be lightweight until we change the battery technology.
We have to either make smaller but more power dense batteries, or make the car super light in the first place, like, Caterham levels of lightweight before adding all the EV stuff for it to work. And it'll definitely be sacrificing range for now until battery technology is improved. Motors though we can already make compact ones that are pretty powerful and capable too (Lucid's motor for example)

Another notable Renault design! Not as screamingly cool as their Trezor but this one's way more affordable and it looks really fun to drive and (like the R5 Turbo 3E) to drift! 😊

I’m not really a fan of hatchbacks. But I love how much they made a literal F1 configuration and experience built into a small electric car. Even the seating configuration of this beast. The only other car I know where the driver sits in the middle and the passengers sit behind the driver on both sides is the McLaren F1. And not just that but it’s like a street legal formula E car because it’s fully electric. And it’s like the history of the Alpine brand embodied into the 1 small car.
BAC Mono, Caparo T1, GMA T.50, and Ferrari 365 P are also center seated. However the Mono and T1 are kinda cheating since they're practically a single seater race car, while the 365 P is mythical unicorn status in terms of existence. T.50 is the only other "normal" road car with center seating and is kinda a successor in a way to the McLaren F1.

@Supercarblondie is everything okay haven't seen you on the last couple videos? Anyway I know this is a shot in the dark but my family and myself have had some hard times every since covid & I lost my landscaping buisness then my father passed away right after.. just added fuel to the fire then the person we had rented from for 10 years + died in a wreck his only child took over and had us out in 3 weeks, he had just passed and all she cared about was the new porsche she went and bought and christmas in paris when my family my mother 67 & daughter 3 at the time was scared of not even having a home or food to eat.. (sorry for the long sob story but it's just life) then my mom's car was repossessed she had just retired and had only a few payments left but we were broke, then right before we was to move i luckily had a friend loan me what it took to do so so it was starting to look up then our owned older vehicle blew up on interstate (parts flying out and all) so now down to 1 that was another owned older vehichle & with barley any money and anywhere to go we finally found a place (way out of budget ) real-estate was going way up and people moving from the north and the west here to Arkansas made it even higher.. we finally moved and now 2 years later our last vehichle finally blew up.. and my daughter is now 5 about to start school and we still haven't recovered especially with the double rent.. I had seen where you helped a couple people before I just hate feeling like I need help and or being a bum but we could just really use a break some good news and maybe money to get a couple pre owned vehicles or just the pre owned vehicles it has been so hard trying to get back to where we were with no way to get there & no money for a start I even thought about e-commerce and shopify but all these people make promises that it's no cost then here comes the ads you need to pay for, the inventory, shopify charges monthly payments ect.. it's just almost impossible to start with nothing.
