I adore my N52 E60 as well- N52B30 in the 07 530i. Have the same engine in my E90 330i as well. It’s the best of all worlds- added power with the variable intake versus the 25i and 28i versions, still gets 35 mpg highway, bulletproof reliability, and- a favorite of mine- metal valve cover, so you don’t have to replace it along with the gasket! That makes a valve cover gasket job cheaper than one on my Nissan VQ in my Infiniti! They went away from this and back to a plastic valve cover in the LCI in 2008- boo!
One of the best reviews I have seen on TH-cam. This channel is so under appreciated but love seeing it grow. Everyone, follow and like now this quality channel 👍
As much as i love the M5, I’m definitely going with the E63, it’s more subtle and the N/A v8 is simply pure, build quality and design are top notch, The V10 sounds great but way too high pitched in my opinion.
Idk if this helps, but technically my 2005 CLK 55 AMG has Frosted Aluminum trim. I'm not the biggest fan of it though, some of the trim pieces feel like plastic. Even the pieces that are really metal feel like plastic to me until it gets cooler inside. Then, the metal actually feels cool and you get a better feel but still.. the wood and carbon fiber trims feel better.
My w212 had aluminum trim. Touching it would give me goosebumps; unpleasant feeling. I love carbon fiber and would better. Or carbon fiber + polished chrome (as in Audis).
I got a e63 about a month ago haven’t really driven that much because I’m scared of the head bolts will fail 😆 gonna wait till I do the head bolt upgrade
Man, I was the same way. I drove it like a grandma till I replaced them bolts. I think you should Not be worried and enjoy it, but I know you will because internet has made you worried 😂 If you are planning on DIY the bolts, I have detailed DIY video. Check it out
@@AccentOnCars silicon cylinder iron are not F1 , no dry sump, what are you talking about? You are confusing the advertising with the reality, the Porsche v10 in the carrera gt was a real F1 engine
@@AccentOnCars m5 is a legend. And much better and engaging car to drive with a much better handling. Also the transmission on the amg is as slow as it gets.
Ok, I get it you’re making this comment without watching the video in full. Transmission in E55 was slow. The E63 transmission is faster than SMG in M5 or manual in this specific car. I don’t disagree with you though 😀
Frankly, I think even the latest AMG transmissions are not as fast and precise as the ZF in M5. Mercedes doesn’t outsource their transmission development like BMW does, which always mean reliable and fast enough transmissions, but not as fast as ZF in M5 or PDK.

I disagree respectfully unless you mean w212 with m156 :) But even then I am curious why you think so. E60 M5 and w211 came out almost at the same time and both had NA engines. W212 had a bi-turbo engine starting 2011 - 1 year after debuting.
@@AccentOnCars so my thing with this is that technologically and cosmetically the w212 feels and looks similar to the e60 m5. the interior looks more similar with the screens and the overall shape and design of dashboards. w212 also has more driver settings like the e60 m5. w212 came out in 2009 in europe and the e60 m5 was still brand new in 2009. the w211 came out in 2002 technically while the e39 m5 was still around. Which one is your favorite? M5 or E63 and why 😎
M5 for me. More cylinders, more pedals!
More pedals definitely make the M5 more appealing 👍
The king is crank shaft bearing manufacturer! (For BMW).
Haha. Common issues on this particular car have been addressed though! (According to the seller)
M5
more cylindres
higher top speed
the smg gearbox(in europe)
the look
the sound
especially the sound

if only s85 is more reliable....i picked e63 as my first car.
I had a big debate with myself too before deciding on what to buy 👍
I too battled with this decision. I went with my E63 only because headbolts would be done. 😮
Yes, same 🫣 But if I had found one with issues resolved from someone I trusted, I would have felt a lot more comfortable buying m5.
I have the same car as you and same radar detector. In my country none of the M5 have manual stick option but I would like an M5 manual.
Manual just makes it more engaging to drive:) This was my first time driving 500hp engine paired with a stick shift.
W211 way faster with same horsepowers
👍
I am taking a E63 AMG

Don’t confuse the S58 with an F1 engine: it is false, the best V10 Of all times is the Audi R8 V10 FSI
S85 was influenced by their F1 tech, similar to how m156/m159 in MB was 👍

I will choose the diesel versions in both brands no matter what. 320 cdi and the 535d any day
For longevity Yes. And plenty fast too. But these are the big daddy models in the lineup.
M5 better every day of the week over Benz
Thanks for chiming in! I tried to remain unbiased in this review outlining strengths and weaknesses of both. What makes you choose M5 over E63? 😊
Next time you drive only shift at redline and you will understand 😉 all the action between 7000 to 8250. That e55 nice too tho.
This is not even close. M5 is the absolute best
What’s not close? Sorry I don’t understand what you mean
