Useful information, i would have been going round in circles trying to find this fault. I never use Wi-Fi for any updates there are way too many devices causing intereference to Wi-Fi that makes it unreliable for firmware updates. From what i have heard Amazon are not making any more Fire TV's hence the heavy discounts on last years models, this has to be a good thing !
Darn. I have a Blaupunkt 32” stuck in standby, and I watched your video about replacing the EPROM to fix this, but despite best efforts, couldn’t source the chip. So I watched this video and thought, ‘wait a minute, what if the chip in the Blaupunkt is an EEPROM?’ (I’m an electronics engineer and I got my hopes up) So I hooked up the Ethernet, powered up at the mains, and the tv was still stuck in standby… but when I pressed the ‘dtv’ button on the remote, the blue light came on, went off after 30s, came back on for a minute, then went back to red. I thought I’d cracked it, but alas, false hope. 😣 Something was happening, just not the right thing. Going to try to find a main board. Thanks for posting these videos up, Allen, and like you, I’m forever annoyed at electronic devices being dumped at the tip when a lot of them can be easily fixed. Grrrr.
@@allenfleckney5969 Hi Allen, it’s a 32/148O-GB-11B-EGP-UK (Model ref: B32O148T2HD, Product code: BS32E148BHJ0P0K10K) Any lead you can give me on fixing it/sourcing the EPROM would be gratefully appreciated!
@@allenfleckney5969 Hi Allen, I found the screen part number for my Blaupunkt 32/148O-GB-11B-EGP-UK, it is an LC320DXJ-SFE1. Can you advise on a way forward? I almost bought a second hand main board but it was for the wrong screen. Tony.
Thanks for the tip Allen. I have 2 walker and 1 Toshiba (vestel smart tvs) not responding to the remote control, I've even changed out the Mainboard in one but to no avail. I can scroll through the menu with the Mainboard mounted toggle switch, Any ideas?
Check remotes are for the tv, vestel change remotes for different makes nowadays, so a Toshiba wont work a jvc etc Also check remotes with your rear camera on your phone by pressing the remote whilst pointing the IR part at your rear camera
Thanks Allen for the update of update. Very much appreciated. Best regards,
Brian 👍👏🏴👍👏🏴

I though it was stuck in the stand...maybe "standby"?
why are so many screens made so stupidly? impossible to place a soundbar in front of the screen!
