- When Mike Holly set out on a winter park lake campaign he had little idea what a purple patch was around the corner. The quality and size of the English park-lake giants in this short campaign is awe-inspiring and sure to fire up any angler for the year ahead!

Up until 6 months ago, I had never heard of Mike before but have grown to love him from listening to the bait works podcasts. Mike is so passionate, down to earth, funny and dedicated that he’s impossible not to like. Keep on doing it Mike. Love what you do.

What a great video. You can really get his passion for carp fishing through this video. All of the carp were absolutely mesmerising with the underslung mouths and crusty withered fins 🎣
I regularly walk round this lake and have seen many fisherman trying their level best but have never seen anything being caught. This Video is amazing and those fish were awesome. Well done and thank you for uploading the video. I am a fly fisherman and think all carp fishermen are bonkers LOL but I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Brilliant

Live 2 mins from this lake and seen a good handful near the bridge ready to spawn, today. 49 lb silver common got had by the otters, sad. Wrote this before seeing you catch it.
The lake culture here is so heart warming, beautiful people and great place to visit.

It's so true that if you can find them at that time of the year they are there to be caught. I especially agree with your thoughts on bait volume and keeping the pressure on the fish to the minimum to achieve results.👍

It reminds me of my campaign on a park lake were all the carp have been stolen or died l was told don't bother there's nuthing in there but my instinct drew me to the lake 1st session nuthink 2nd one small carp 3rd 31lb l was blown away it was winter l had 31 in my arms and l am still catching last week had 26lb and 29lb happy days/ brilliant video

I am biased because Terry Hearn is literally my carping hero and idol whom without I would not have landed so many massive lumps all over Europe like I have in the last 30 or so years, so the stories and video will never match anything the guy does, but I enjoyed this very much thats for sure! Great fish and great video, super carp angler for sure!

The power of dreams!
This is a hard lake to fish, I live a few miles from here and have hardly seen any carp caught. Sad thing is, when it is was well stocked with tench, roach, perch etc, you would find anything from 30 - 150+ anglers. Then the Council became scared of the PC brigade and did nothing to stop/remove the Cormorants. Also, there is still a large head of Bream many in the 10lbs +.
