Great stuff Mike! The lads in the club have done an incredible job of transforming the Castle into the amazing and completely unique venue it is today. It's taken an unreal amount of work, and the results speak for themselves. Glad you had a great session!
Awesome watch I've got loads of memories fishing south & north lake caught some stonking carp many probably 20+ by now onto the next adventure tightlines look forward to the next video 🎣👊🏰
If you like this you ought ro go and fish the loch in Edinburgh Ciry Centre. There are ghosties in there up to 35lb, which have never caught. I threw some bread-balls in there and went back the next day. Yep. They were there! Somebody may get they're name in the papers.
Another great video Mike. You’ve gotta be the nicest bloke in carp fishing. Also great to see the creAmino doing the business in wales. It’s my favourite bait at the moment. It’s getting mega popular here in the Lea valley which isn’t good for me because it was my secret 😂😂
Hello James, thats very kind feedback mate. Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry about the edge getting out the bag, think of it as others are pre baiting for you. ;) Best of luck for 2024 mate
Crazy Clive, the water temps may something to do with it as the carps senses are certainly dulled in the winter, but the others just don't really flinch, very surprising!
Hi, I've been watching some of the videos you and Mark have put out on rigs. In Mark's Ultimate Rig video he's using the same rig as you do (shown in the ESP vid) but combi style with fluoro rather than semi-stiff coated braid straight through. Are there any fishing scenarios when you would use his combi version instead? Thanks!
Absoluut bijna dood, vreselijk afschuwelijk. Prachtig hoe onze Britse vrienden kunnen overdrijven. Een beetje zoals ik (soms). Propere visserij heren. Goed gedaan!
I was told fishing here had stopped now, is that true or is it just said to stop people wanting to come? The boys in the club and tackle shop did an amazing job with the stock. Great video.
@@BaitworksTV I think it was Carl who has also done a vid there said the local council stopped fishing there. Maybe someone told him that. Maybe he felt obliged to protect what the locals have got without getting over-run. I remember feeling a bit saddened by that, thinking no more fishing, more for the locals than anything. A good angling club as you know is a blessing, a good thing, helping police a water, clearing away litter, that sort of thing. As a boy living on the Welsh border, my mums family side Williams, dad still living in Wales, mum buried there, spending every summer holiday there, fishing my first fishing match in Wales, I have a natural affinity for the beauty of the country and the fishing I have enjoyed there since a boy. For sure it was a place which for me was on my bucket list to visit, along with Redmire Pool, one I have ticked off. Thank you for putting me right. I am happy to know that local anglers still have their precious venue to enjoy, and long may that continue. It was brilliant that you enjoyed the unique setting every bit as much as your well deserved success there.

Don’t worry about the dragon on the drawbridge, when mikes around it’s best to worry about the amount of carp that he’ll be slaying… 😂💪🐳🎣 Good angling Mike . It’s always nice to be able to go fishing and not have to worry about the bait we are using. #ITWORKS ⚙️
Lovely video and venue but why do feel the need to use a drone? Whatever the reason, you’re inspiring people (I don’t refer to them as anglers) to use a drone to find carp. The hardest part of carp fishing is finding the fish and any clown can use a drone to find carp on the lowest of stocked lakes. Drones are ruining carp fishing. Watercraft / finding the fish is what separates a good angler and a shit one, why get up at silly o’clock to walk and scan the lake, looking for shows, fizzing, coloured water etc etc ?? It’s the very essence of carp fishing ! A drone totally takes that away. It’s down to all you guys making videos and fishery owners to stop using and ban drones. Please ! For carp fishing sake.
Hi Mate, I hear you. I don't use a drone for fishing, I'd caught most of the fish before I even got the drone out the car. I just wanted to capture some high castle shots for the film, sadly films certainly benefit from drone footage in todays day and age. But I'm totally with you on the general use of them on lakes up and down the country. However we all know they're here to stay, so it has to be up to the fishery mangers to police it as best they can it seems. Similar to bait boats, in the wrong hands they can cause issues. But I think I'd rather have someones drone overhead than someone casting out a christmas pudding (round ball echo sounder) into the lake on bite time lol
@@BaitworksTV I know you don’t use a drone for fishing mate, I’ve listened to your podcasts with Mark and I’m confident in saying we’re all singing from the same hymn book. I agree but sadly I feel the horse may have bolted mate, the challenge is how do you stop a drone from two fields away? It's painful, we're certainly on the same sheet but technology has gathered a very fast pace in angling and drones, underwater cameras, deepers, bait boats, bait boat echos etc are here for good now I'd say. It has to be down to lake owners as you say to apply rules, however as a day ticket that may be focussed on revenue they'll certainly not want to restrict customers who want to use any of the above?@@Niiiiiiiiiii
They can have any rules they like on the day ticket waters , I won’t be there anyway😂 That horse may have truly bolted I agree, but what worries me is: Where does it all end? Chipped carp you can find on a mobile app? We’ll learn to adapt I guess. Take it easy mate and be good not lucky!
Sadly mate I know of fisheries with chipped carp, so say for security! I can see it coming, pay for a day ticket or you can pay for the premium day ticket that allows you to track the chipped carp on GPS locator! lol - same to you mate, all the best@@Niiiiiiiiiii
