“I Was Abused By Jimmy Savile, And Now I’m Ready To Share My Story” | This Morning

  • He was the very definition of a predator hiding in plain sight. For decades, Jimmy Savile was one of the UK's most influential celebrities. But following his death in 2011, he was found to have sexually abused hundreds of children and women, while at the height of his fame. His shocking crimes are now being dramatised in the new BBC series The Reckoning - which also tells the stories of four of his victims, including Kevin Cook. Kevin was just nine-years-old when Savile lured him into his dressing room, and with another man, abused him. He’ll be sharing his shocking story, and telling us about the challenge of taking part in the new series.

No he can't but those that covered up the abuse .. those that KNEW about him abusing kids and did NOTHING .. can be. There needs to be some type of National Inquiry for what happened with that monster. Those that turned a blind eye NEED to be called to question.
I was a little girl in he '70s and remember seeing him on the tv. I'm not sure "Jim will fix it" was even showed here on New Zealand tv but I remember seeing him (it could have been on the News for his fundraising). Back then I thought he oozed sleeze. I think the drama was a good thing. It was really well done and the acting is superb. The reason I think it is a good idea is that no matter how many times you hear the horrific stories it can be hard to imagine it (why would you want to eh?) but seeing it on screen in The Reckoning really brought it to life and made the pit of your stomach churn and that's always a good thing because you really feel the impact. These things should never be forgotten or swept under the carpet because history forgotten is history repeated!

Don't watch "David Fuller : Monster in the Morgue", then. He was the same, hiding in plain sight for decades acting like a normal family bloke when he wasn't murdering or abusing people.

Imagine being sexually and physically abused for over six years.
Imagine having to live with that for the rest of your life.
Imagine failed relationships and no self esteem.
Imagine the feeling of guilt, although it's not your fault.
Imagine having to give evidence in court, and not being able to tell the full story to The Police of the court, as the hurt and embarrassment is too much to handle.
Then imagine your life after the trial. He gets 4 years and you get a life sentence.
Well I have to deal with it every day of my life. I don't have to imagine.
    My life has been ruined.
