  • Jim Malone's fifth and final exhibition at Goldmark Gallery, opening 18th November 2023, is not just a display of his latest work, but a reflection of a broader legacy of pottery-making spanning decades. goldmarkart.com
From its Anglo-oriental source, imperceptible adjustments of form, of glaze, and of their combination have produced work that has eschewed fussiness, instead cutting its swathe through the landscape of modern studio pottery, quietly but purposefully running that greater, more enduring course.
For half a century Malone's work has been embraced by collectors and enthusiasts, including the legendary Bill Ismay, and now, as he prepares to move from Cumbria to the remote isles of northern Scotland, Malone's legacy takes its final bow. Don't miss this opportunity to witness the clarity of Jim Malone's unique pottery voice and add one or two of his wonderful pots to your collection.

Hamada Shoji signed the box and not the work but most Japanese potters sign the bottom of their bowls. Some maybe don't need to because their style is so distinctive and recognisable but most of them do leave their mark on the base of their pieces.
