  • Jim Malone's fifth and final exhibition at Goldmark Gallery, opening 18th November 2023, is not just a display of his latest work, but a reflection of a broader legacy of pottery-making spanning decades.
From its Anglo-oriental source, imperceptible adjustments of form, of glaze, and of their combination have produced work that has eschewed fussiness, instead cutting its swathe through the landscape of modern studio pottery, quietly but purposefully running that greater, more enduring course.
For half a century Malone's work has been embraced by collectors and enthusiasts, including the legendary Bill Ismay, and now, as he prepares to move from Cumbria to the remote isles of northern Scotland, Malone's legacy takes its final bow. Don't miss this opportunity to witness the clarity of Jim Malone's unique pottery voice and add one or two of his wonderful pots to your collection.

In the docu about Jim Malone there is this moment when he says he once found out that he could not make pots deliberately,he has to create an atmosphere where pots can happen. So true...
