A fine video I’ve enjoyed time and time again. The lifestyle, demeanor and attitude onward life art and pottery is very appealing.

A beautiful and remote Cumbrian countryside seems like providing enough inspiration for Jim - film has a fully educational capacity - thanks to filmmaker - excellent angles :)

That was absolutely beautiful. I especially appreciated the expression of spirituality through the work.

Lovely film about a lovely man and incredible potter. As much a philosopher as Seasoned craftsman. Love these films. Well done Goldmark!

"Things" can be made quickly. Conversely, art can't be too concerned with the time, or the expense. So, it isn't a reach to connect art with simple living - because when time ceases to be money, it can be so much more than money.
10:10 "...but Thatcher stopped all that."

Very inspiring to watch and changed my mind on the decoration he uses, unfortunately being a young potter there aren't the resources to buy such amazing pieces.

Have you thought about doing a positive and negative range ie: brown glaze with white slip motif back and front then doing the next pot in the White glaze with the brown slip motifs. Displaying them together like ying and yang. Love your work

cool, spoken like a true potter ,how did maggie put a stop to the back to the land movement over there?

  • @patrickbass3542

Is he "candling" the ware with the wood fire or producing ashe? Why isn't the ash contributed while the glazes are molten?

  • @notawuss

Very illuminating, but I disagree about one point. Glaze does count. I've seen--I've done myself--many good pots ruined with bad glazes. You may never improve a pot off the wheel, you can certainly spoil it.

i think what he was trying to say was learn about all the glazes you go through and use it for what it is and that there is no one perfect holy grail glaze.
