As an artist it’s hard to describe how pleasing it is to see another artist making a living being so committed and true to her creativity. You are such an inspiration Akiko Kurai🙏🏻
Wow. I have never seen such original interpretations of the moon jar. These look like eggs! It feels like birth, transformation and a celebration of living. To think she was destined to do this (I think so), and she found it by accident. By refusing to be unhappy, and then by a happy accident. I wish her every happiness. Her work is very moving and very unique. 💪🏼 💕
So glad she wasn't forced to become a civil servant. Not easy for a Japanese woman from a conservative background to break free - hats off to her. And thank heavens she had grandparents to support her at a critical time! Not everyone has. What obstacles to overcome, which she did by sheer commitmnt and talent, with her parents trying to crush her. I hope they feel remorse. I know the film wasn't about that, but still! We could have been denied her contribution
What a gorgeous film about such an astounding maker. Thanks for putting this together!
