My dear mother brought my older sister, some of her school friends and me, to a live TV broadcast of the Perry Como show. He, personally cut, and handed each and every person, a piece of his birthday cake. My older sister, kept that piece of Perry Como's birthday cake in my mother's and later, her freezer for probably 20 years.

When we had his record Don’t Let The Stars Get In Your Eyes, and have loved him ever since, there has been a lot of great singers, but none kept their voices as good as Perry at his age, he was a wonderful man with a great voice and a wonderful nature. May he rest in Peace.
Its a shame it rained, he really didnt relish his hair getting wet and blown, but nothing stopped him from giving 100% of himself for the country. Even as he was older here he could still hit the notes. He was quite a talent, but yet very humble and regular, we miss you Per. Love ya, Jeff and Linda

As for Sinatra, in his early years, he had a singing voice. Later, when he made his 'comeback' (reportedly with the help of the Mafia) he didnt. His voice was flat and tuneless. In other words, horrible. He got by with style, 'razzmatazz' and lots of publicity promotion. Again, his fans must be tone deaf. Matt Monro had a far better voice, even though he worshipped Sinatra. If there was a choice, I'd swop Matt for Sinatra any day, and I pity the day that Matt died so young. .
