  • This is a video that shows how to weed and put transfer tape on a vinyl made with a Roland BN-20 Print & Cut Vinyl Cutter. There are two other videos that show how to prepare the image for printing and how to send the design file to the printer for printing. Make sure to watch the 3 design videos too.

Great video! So, is there any drying time for the ink once finished printing before applying transfer tape? Also, my shop is very small and I was wondering does the ink have a strong odor? I’ve been really thinking hard about getting one on these.

Was the step at the end just to protect the sticker or is that considered laminating

It is to allow for transferring the sticker from the backing to the item you are attaching it to.

@@fablabavhs3332 errr, since you're keeping the square backing on, one could just as easily peel and stick it without the transfer tape. total waste of time, effort, and money on your end.

Make the image smaller. Take the % down until it switches or lower the number of copies depending on how it is set up

The cost for the vinyl, transfer tape and ink is about $3.00 per linear foot. Our vinyl cutter takes 20" width vinyl.

From my 20 yrs using Roland printers. If you don't laminate your prints, they won't last outside, the edges will curl and that sticker will be trash. Also, laminating gives the sticker more thickness, durability, you can use gloss or matte fishish and you don't need to use transfer tape.
I'm not sure on this particular printer? In most Roland's you can change the settings so it prints going both ways, makes printing much faster.

not possible with this particular model unfortunately.

Just run it through the laminator and then through your cutter. Not sure if you can put the print back in the Roland and cut it. The machine does have an option just to cut.

So, Why not just cut the vinyl AND the backing at the same time ? You wouldn't need transfer tape !! Just peel and stick.

Do y think that printer allow to perform making order for customers in reasonable amount and time? When I watch haw long it takes to print out and cut only one short sheet of vinyl, I am just boring. I think that printer good as hobby not for starting and providing even small business with such guy. Tremendously Slow!!!!

You really should do research before trying to give tutorials. not to be rude, but your setting up some bad habits or methods here for new people.
