Hi! I have a question. You said that boiling the pressed juice makes it taste like cider. Doesn't water bath canning in boiling water change the flavour as well? Thanks
This seems to be a banner year for apples. Mom's Lodi tree actually had ripe apples by the beginning of June. The Yellow Delicious and Grimes Goldens are now about ready. Your cherries look great!
Those black cherries look like our wild chokecherries. I juiced nanking cherries last week and I have chokecherry juice on the shelf, maybe I'll combined them for a tasty juice! That rabbit stew looks so yummy!
We have choke Cherries and sour Cherries as well as these black Cherries. They all make great juice or jelly, but not much else. This year is a dud year for them, so I am glad I made so much with them last year.
I noticed how you were using your dehydrator tray......it looked to be upside down.....but I can see how it is probably way easier to get the dried product off the tray.....I am going to try this. The "bottom" of the trays are flat, I am gonna make raisins later next month.
Just curious how big should I let my crook neck grow or is it more about the colour? Thanks 🙏 I am so enjoying the previous pantry challenge videos, it’s very motivational and encouraging!
The yellow crookneck summer variety I find that if they are more then 3 inch in diameter, I have to remove the seeds, but the bigger ones are still good. The outside skin can even get a bit bubbly and I still use them for roasting or canning, I just peel off a layer with my peelers. In my video for day 7, 8 and 9 ai show this very well 😀
If it is beige with no lines or green tint to it then you could probably pick it. Send us a picture if you haven't picked it yet 😀. Hope the garden is going well.
@@PantryLiving I sent a couple pictures over on instagram, I think they can go a bit longer but I definitely want at least one for over winter and save the seeds. Thanks again ✌🏻
Your video was suggested on my home page today. Very down to earth and relatable. So glad I found your channel.
I am so glad you found us! And even better that you are enjoying it. I look forward to your comments.

Good question, I have winter crook neck squash that is beige! To pick or leave?
