I had approximately 200 lbs of juice tomatoes this year! It's getting too cool for them to do too much ripening but I discovered you can slice and can green tomatoes for frying at a later date. Just a suggestion if you find your tomatoes aren't getting ripe in time before the frost gets them. Thank you sharing with us 💚
We tried that with these ones before, but to be honest, they are so small, and it ends up all skin and not very tasty. But we love to do that with some of our other varieties, like the chocolate cherry and the yellow pear-shaped ones.
I split my cherry tomatoes then roast them in oven with Italian seasoning and a tiny drizzle of EVOO. Once done I freeze them for when I'm making a pizza or soup (blender for this) or just to throw into another sauce for nice taste. I use the little tomatoes so much since they are prolific and easy to preserve and help bulk up my supply of sauces. Your yellow beans seem like something I could use. Love dried beans and we can grow yellow beans down here (FL) easy enough.Did your dry that well even with all the rain? I grew stevia and it was so tasty but never found anyone using it. I would love for you to show some of your projects with it. What a fun garden - so many surprises!
I wonder if it is too late for that now. I will try this next year for sure as the bottom sprouts all grew into more branches and the top ones are way behind. Thank you for the tip
I sundry, dehydrate and roast cherry tomatoes. Recently i put a giant tray lined with parchment and loaded with little tomates. Before i roast them, i toss them in olive oil and our oregano and thyme.... a little redmonds salt . By the time they were ready, the excess liquid had evaporated and my house smelled like an Italian deli! 😅 This might be my favorite way! Today im making garlic parm chicken in the crockpot. When it gets done, were going to throw in some of those tomatoes and serve it with pasta. Roasted tomatoes are great spread on some oven toasted garlic toast. Endless ideas! Sorry for hijacking your comments. 😂😂😊
They are doing really well. They didn't have great germination, but they were 2 year old peanuts, lol. We will definitely get enough for a big planting next year. Thanks again for supplying the original seeds 😀
Make a tomato tart with those cherry tomatoes! TOMATO TART Line a pie plate with a single crust. Saute 1 large sliced onion until soft and translucent. Place the onions in the pie crust. Next, add any shredded cheese of your choice, at least 2 1/2 cups. Lay cherry tomatoes on the cheese; fill it up! Bake in a 450 degrees oven for 20-22 minutes, until the skins start to split. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with bits of fresh basil. YUMMY!!
I like to use cherry tomatoes and sauté them down a little bit with olive oil and garlic, and then add some chicken stock and make a nice broth with it and then add spaghetti and some kale or spinach in it and add a little bit of Parm light refreshing dish, but a good way to use the cherry tomatoes.
I am going to try this for dinner tonight. Thank you so much for sharing it. I just canned some chicken broth this morning and had left over so it is perfect timing. I am going to mix cabbage with the pasta as we are trying to be really careful how.much carbohydrates we are consuming. I am sure it will still be great though.
Beautiful garden, a bit chaotic, but natural. ( I think it's more beautiful a row garden) I freeze cherry tom, cut in half. In the winter, I make a feta tomato basil garlic tiktok pasta dish. It's pretty amazing. Worth a shot, being frozen, easy, skin removed ( or not) I'll send a recipe if you want. They make fantastic sundried tomato bites for salads. Pintrest will give a ton ideas for cherry Tom's as well. The other produce looks amazing. We are just getting a ton out of our garden now, what a difference a week can make. 😊
The foliage might definitely be an issue. They are planted in a very rich bed, so I don't think it is food. The plants are monsters, and I really should have got the trellis built. I pulled one of the plants out of the way today, and it was almost 10 feet long.
I like to grow the radishes for the green pods rather than the root. They taste pretty much the same, and you get way more off each plant. They bolt so fast i just get frustrated trying to grow for the root.
It is interesting that they taste the same. I am going to harvest a couple to try as we do find we have a limited growing season for Radishes here. They bolt so quick, like you mentioned.
wow your popcorn is huge,
It is. I am excited to see how much we get this teat. Last year, we got 3 litres of dry seeds for eating over the winter.
That 1870's Homestead has a recipe for cherry tomato salsa if your interested.
Thank you, I shall check that out. I was thinking they may work well for fermented salsa as well
Such a neat little family ❤

Oh a video on using fresh stevia will be wonderful! Looking forward to that!
I have to do a big harvest soon, so going to put a video together as soon as I can. 😀
I have seen some folks dehydrating sundried cherry tomatoes. They eat them for snacks.
I do that! They're so delicious!

Pam says- everyone I see with Brussels sprouts takes off the bottom leaves when their season is short to redirect the plant to the sprouts. 😎

Ferment those cherry tomatoes. Delicious
I was thinking that actually. That they may be nice for my fermented salsa recipe.

That sounds great. I have received so many awesome suggestions it is wonderful. Now I am thinking, hopefully I will have enough tomatoes 😆
I sun dry my cherry tomato's and mix with Olive oil in a mason jar for pizzas. Great garden tour . I am glad to see you trying peanuts again.

@@gardengrowinmawmaw8642 this would be good with a goat cheese or feta mixed in with other cheese…
My suggestion on how to use the cherry tomatoes....that is, if you have enough, would be to turn them into tomato juice or maybe a sauce.
We made a roasted cherry tomato sauce the other night (suggested here by a subscriber) and it was incredible!
Nice garden! I've kept mine a bit small this year. I've gotten a lot of tomatoes this year.
We are really getting tomatoes now. They were slow to start, but going to be a strong finish for the season. Hope you are well 😀
a lot of people are making roasted tomato soup with their extra cherry tomatoes.
I have not seen this recipe. I will have to look it up as I enjoy tomato soup
Love it, can you can bruschetta in a jar with cherry tomatoes? I would love love love a stevia video! Please!
I have a nice bruschetta recipe, but I have never tried with Cherry tomatoes. Might be interesting
I covered my peppers last nite with 6*C.
It got pretty cool here too. Supposed to be 7 tonight then warm up again

Ohhh, also, bruchetta in a jar, I think its in the Bernardin book of home cannon😊
Maybe the tomatoes need more feed to fruit. Also if you have too much leaves and the bees cant get to the flowers they cant get pollinated
