What a way to celebrate Pendennis Castle’s 100 Birthday!
3 Loco’s were in service:
GWR 1340 Class “Trojan”,
GWR 2900 Class, 2999 “Lady of Legend”
& the Birthday Girl!
GWR 4073 Class, 4079 “Pendennis Castle”!
Trojan was on the Branch Line. Lady of Legend did the morning Demonstration Trains until 1:00.
The Birthday Girl did a 360 on the turntable, had photos taken with a magnificent birthday cake of her! Then she did Demonstration Trains in the afternoon!
The cake looks so good enough to eat! Great job who made that cake!
Before the Centre opened its doors. A Rail-tour from Birmingham to Salisbury went past the Centre. The engine that pulled the train was one of Pendennis’s Sisters! 7029 “Clun Castle” was the engine that Rail-tour. What a way to celebrate her 100 Birthday! I didn’t know there was a Rail-tour going through Didcot. Special Thank You to the group of people who let me know about it!
I would to say a Big Thank you to all the people at Didcot Railway Centre for putting on a fantastic 100 Birthday Party! I wish Pendennis Castle, Dry Rails and Good Running for the next Century!
