I remember when BTS started having mental breakdown after an idol committed suicide back in Dec 2017. On Jimin’s log (April 2018) he had been struggling for 3-4 months. “Why are we fighting this for our life?” Until he saw the video when ARMY sang their song in a foreign country and they got emotional. Jimin: “our fans give us reason... they give us meaning.. This is how I’m living right now.” th-cam.com/video/8cOW8bTTA2s/w-d-xo.html This was when they were contemplating on disbanding. They had struggles before that incident but not to the point of considering disbanding. I think they suffered burnout, pressure (because they getting bigger internationally), anxiety and the incident that shook the idol community.
IU one time said on her last radio interview after someone asked her that question: “How do you deal with having to do things you don’t want to do?" IU: “I have worked hard to have the Freedom to choose what I want to do.” You can bloom as a result of your past actions, a result of your hard work, perseverance, dedication, to be able to have your freedom of doing whatever you love do and that what she exactly did . What a smart true role model.
Yep, IU was smart, she made herself invaluable to her company, and once she did that, she was able to dictate her own rules. They wouldn't dare do anything to her now, since she is so beloved.
The answer to the question for me would be depending on the company. Big hit and some other companies are more lenient and helpful and in those cases I think being an idol is worth it. But if you’re being treated like hell and never get paid for it in the long run, it’s not worth it.
I think that Pnation, Bighit entertainment, and RBW entertainment are probably the safest company that gives there idols the most creative control and doesn't force idols to go on diets or overworks them.
But many bad things have happened for example with bts, and they also can't always do what they want, the members even said they were banned from releasing some music.
Oh yes you are back with a another rection I was just waiting for these I just love you guys rection keep going love you guys Can you guys can please do Kpop try not to sing challenge Please this is my humble request and I think I am the first one to comment 😅 Please do this challenge try not to sing kpop songs
I have one friend who is a former trainee of one of Big 3 ent. She's been trained for 2 years, and she quit bc the staff there doesn't give her any informations about her debut and it seems like she wouldn't debut anytime soon. And she said that they had to weight themselves every single day and they weight must be under 50kg, and they were training for longer than 10 hours. I can't imagine being those idols
I pray that if any idol ever goes public with their dating relationship no sasaeng will attack them Also can you guys react to “why BTS is treated unfairly in Korea”
I'd like to add that the channel of that video is known for spreading misleading, if not outright false, information about BTS, even at the group's expense, so please take any video by them with a grain of salt.
See, the biggest mislead and misunderstanding in kpop is that sasaengs would attack their idols for dating. It's the regular fans that would attack, bully or even cancel or drop their idols if they find out he's dating. Sasaengs know when their idols date, that's why they're sasaengs. Most of the time they actually keep their idol's personal life in secret protecting them from the delusional fans who would be upset to know their fave is actually dating. It makes sense, right? There're different types of sasaengs, ofc there're the bad ones (stalkers, leakers, antis, the so called top seeds who are taking advantage of their money and power) but there're protectors among them too. Keep that in mind. Remember when Exo's Chen publicly announced his marriage and an upcoming birth of his child, some of the exo-ls literally freaked out and demanded he should be out of the group. Sasaengs knew abt his relationship a long time ago and kept it secret from the public eye. So when u think abt ssngs and regular fans, think twice about who is better and who's worse or aren't they both equally worse at the end of the day? Kpop world is designed to have such obsessive and delusional fandoms because of the boyfriend/girlfriend fantasy selling and promoting out.
Once again I’m reminded and saddened that BTS struck gold with BH and Bang PD. Luckily the ppl in BH have enough integrity to pay the boys what their worth (as BTS members receive 70% pay from their music) but it’s so sad that MOST kpop companies wouldn’t DARE give their act that much money. And even then, imagine how little money BTS would have if their company was run by ppl who run most of the Korean entertainment industry 😔 Reality of the situation is most idols don’t get paid from their music or companies. That’s why it’s so important for idols to land CFs, endorsements, brand deals, etc. And all of those opportunities rest in the fact that you become one of the top kpop idols.
Red Bean doubt it, groups from smaller companies are more likely to hold onto that money. But I’m hopeful that for those 2 groups they at least see more money than most from smaller companies. So even if they don’t get the majority of the money I’m hoping it’s still not bad (like 60/40 or even 50/50). Also s/o to the goat in your pfp 😂

The reality of the situation: some companies physically and psychologically and sexually abuse their trainees and idols It’s not often we see those companies get their just deserves (mainly bc trainees/idols choose to or are threatened to keep their mouths shut) but there have been cases when groups and idols have filed lawsuits and won
Bighit entertainment and YG entertainment is the companies that pay their artists the best if you see this two companies graphics and compare to SM it’s really shocking cause SM artists only get 10% of their income while the company gets 90%, JYP is 50% and Bighit pay 60% of their income to their artists (including TXT as well) BTS even receive more because they receive as producers too. YG pays their artists really well too but they have a lot of issues with management and Lisa was even blackmailed by her own manager which really sucks so I consider YG still really problematic and I’m not even gonna start with the things they did to 2ne1...
bighit and artists have never disclosed the percentage they get payed. 60% is a speculation it could be more or less but in bts's case with their renewed contract they probably get more than txt xx
Reality of the situation is most idols don’t get paid from their music or companies. That’s why it’s so important for idols to land CFs, endorsements, brand deals, acting roles, producing/songwriting for other artists, etc. Still tho, all of those opportunities rest in the fact that you become one of the top kpop idols which is nearly impossible (and why ppl fight to debut from the BIG 3, you get a head start 🤷🏾♀️)

FX was my favorite group awhile back & Sulli was my favorite. When she left the group it changed for this group, even though she was not a top favorite. I then saw videos of her falling apart. I always thought she was a cheerful innocent person in the group. I checked to see how she was doing & the video showed her home with yellow tape around it. To find out she committed suicide still breaks my heart. Her best friend Goo Hara was so affected. A month after Sulli died, GooHara committed suicide also. A year before Sulli, Jonghyun from Shinee committed suicde. Suicide deeply affects me, just to know they couldn't hang on
I will always have so much respect for kpop idols. the fact that they have to go through such an intense trainee process without having any guarantee of debut.....they are just so so strong🖤
I think idol trainees sign a contract (temporary) when they are still so young with their parents consent, but as time went on and usually when you're a trainee you don't get paid so when they made it and got offered to debut, they sign another contract (usually a-7-years contract), with the previous contract being tied to, which there are some conditions to consider, like payment, 'idol rules', etc., but as their activities and schedule for rookie idols is soooo full of promotions, concerts, variety shows, they weren't ready to experience it and they got exhausted, overwork, sick and fall to depression when something didn't work well. I think the companies 'expected' idols to be like their sunbaes, to follow the 'rules and system' which was working well for them before, meanwhile the world and people's evolved.
I think some of these points are exergerrated like the being given food according to ur performance .that was exergerrated.and again yr payment depends on ur company ,if you debut in a shitty company with shitty contracts you wont get paid well.like Bighit, jyp and yg have a very reasonable amount of contract it's either 50/50 or 70% for artiste 30% for company.so it depend where you debut
Many people - mostly non-fans of course - don’t see that a kpop artist’s life is like a (top) athlete’s life, kind of like how you compared it near the end. They sacrifice their normal daily lives (which don’t have to be great for all but still), devote themselves to this one goal, this dream, but they don’t just dream, they train and work their butts off to get to where they wanna be. So even though we see idols with all these different personalities - one is funny, silly, one is shy, one is super confident - if they made it to debut then they‘ll definitely have overcome a lot, have a tough skin, be diligent, be persistant, etc and they all deserve respect for that.
She didn't even talked about one of the most terrifying things in my opinion, and that is being beaten up by their manager. It happened I think two years ago with a group that only had children under 16 years old, the youngest having 8 or 9. The leader of that group came out publicly to tell horrible things that they suffered, like being hit in the head, locked up, having no food for days and threatned that if they told anyone they were being abused, they would kill their parents. That's the worst and saddest news I heard in kpop. There is other groups that suffered because of their manager, even BTS once had one that thankfully was fired after fans spotted him in one video threatening to hit Kookie(I saw the video too, I was so mad).
I feel so bad for all other agencies because the idols don't get to have the freedom that they would love to receive but the agencies don't let them and then they get all shocked when they faint or throw up
Being a kpop ideal should be amazing and being a free person, not being treated like you're in jail and being used for money. They are being treated wrong and it should change PERIOD
i was really glad mina and jyp were open about her struggles instead of hiding the reason why she took time off and i’m super glad she’s back and has been feeling better
Produce 101 is a very emotional but also very funny show. It’s a show where trainees from different companies try to debut in a group of 11 people they get to debut in the top 11 from the 101 trainees with the most votes. You guys schuld watch if your interested “produce 101 season 2 hard moments” and “produce 101 season 2 funny moments” their were 4 season but the show stopped bcs their were fake votes so the recent group from season 4 disbanded (X1) produce 101 season 1 -> group “ioi” debut song “dream girls” produce 101 season 2 -> group “wanna one” debut song “energetic” produce 48 -> group “iz one” debut sing “la vie en rose” produce 101 season 4 -> group “X1) debut song “flash”
Yeahhh a new reaction video. Have been thinking what to watch sunce i finnished all your recently new videos and here you are as always so fast with a new video 🥰
I’m soo happy the pinks rule now. I used to worry about them soo much. I hope they start their own company one day and break the mould completely 👑👑👑👑 🦄🦄🦄🦄
please react to BTS (방탄소년단) - Dope + Silver Spoon + Fire + Run @ Love Yourself Speak Yourself Tour The Final Seoul, the songs and stage presence are amazing, p.s. i know you a have a long list of what to watch but i think you’d enjoy this❤️
Don't y'all see that some of those wacky ass companies are only using the idols to make money. I don't think the idols are told or know the actual amount of money that has been made from their music so most of them got and is still getting ripped off, sigh..... the price for being famous. These companies are too dreadful.
Transparency between the artists and the company would help make a stronger relationship ( how much money they generate and will continue to make and the studios expenses etc. ). The production value of most Kpop music videos look insanely expensive too plus the people working behind the scenes need to get paid as well, wow sounds complicated. I wonder if Kpop artists receive royalties too from their music and if they make money from endorsing products. I also hope that they have some sort of a regular mental health checks because I couldn’t imagine the mental and emotional toll that comes with that job.
This reminds me of a clip I saw a few years ago of a company director (not the CEO or owner, but a higher-up) scolding and berating a girl group member ON TV for weighing over 50kg... She was around 5'7 so that was actually a healthy weight, but she got chewed out for it for so long she lost so much weight after that
You guys should react to : Shinee- From now on, world tour best of 2018, this is a very emotional song, they also payed tribute to Jonghyun who have passed away in 2017
HyunA was a solo struts in cube Entertainment and she was dating a member of a boy group from cube Entertainment so when they told everyone that they were dating them two got kicked out of the company. But don’t worry they got signed into a new label we’re they are allowed to date and have been dating for 4/5 years.
In South-Korea it’s not just that they pay little attention to mental health, the whole concept of ‘mental health’ has yet to be acknowledged by most. Don’t quote me on all this, but I believe the mentality in Korea is like “you are responsible for everything that happens in your life” and “yóu control your thoughts so you can create the thoughts you want”. Both are in a way positive, powerful lessons, but practically speaking they take it too far. Maybe you’re dieting or training to get some weight off, but often it’s not that easy or there are emotional/issues behind the weight gain. They’ll just tell you “just train harder, don’t complain, it’s your own fault”. I’ve heard about people, idols too, going to a doctor/gp seeking help for their anxiety or depression, just to be told “you have bad thoughts? well it’s yóur head so... just change your thoughts” and even “okay but you’re famous and got money so... what do you have to be depressed about”. This way of looking at mental health is so toxic and I do believe things are shifting, because of idols’ being more open about it for example, but it’s going slow. Let’s hope that things will move quicker, as one of the countries with the highest suicide rate they’d be doing themselves a big favor. Everyone deserves to be heard, especially the young people who are struggling and just trying to find their way.
Although the danger is the same for celebrities around the world kpopers have more of it ...i think one of the reasons is that they share too much of their life into socialmedia so for some people can cause an obsession which is not kpop groups fault...we hope they stay strong🌌
Please react to Uhm jung hwa she is a famous solo artist debuted in 1993 and is also called Korean diva her songs are really good and this month she’s turning 51 but I would like you to react to her newer songs called dream, watch me move and ending credit among these songs I like ending credit the best so please ever react to it whenever you have time I think you’ll probably like it too

React to Kpop idols at award shows in a nutshell
Don't y'all see that some of those wacky ass companies are only using the idols to make money. I don't think the idols are told or know the actual amount of money that has been made from their music so most of them got and is still getting ripped off, sigh..... the price for being famous. These companies are too dreadful.
since Reef's bias is Suga you should react to Suga's seesaw you can hear Him singing there.
They are the sweetest couple.❤
‘ dis made me mad like it’s not fair😭
I'm only going to say 3 words:
They deserve BETTER
Transparency between the artists and the company would help make a stronger relationship ( how much money they generate and will continue to make and the studios expenses etc. ). The production value of most Kpop music videos look insanely expensive too plus the people working behind the scenes need to get paid as well, wow sounds complicated. I wonder if Kpop artists receive royalties too from their music and if they make money from endorsing products. I also hope that they have some sort of a regular mental health checks because I couldn’t imagine the mental and emotional toll that comes with that job.
I clicked so fast James Charles couldn't even say HI SISTERS btw I love you so much💜🌺
Pls react to idols in award shows it's sooo funnnnyyy 😭😭😭
All I can do is pray and hope that everything that happens for kpop idols will do no harm to them. 😭😭😭😭
This reminds me of a clip I saw a few years ago of a company director (not the CEO or owner, but a higher-up) scolding and berating a girl group member ON TV for weighing over 50kg... She was around 5'7 so that was actually a healthy weight, but she got chewed out for it for so long she lost so much weight after that
I really love this couple💜

Everyone deserves to be heard, especially the young people who are struggling and just trying to find their way.
the money situation for idols is really a mess. unless you're in the very biggest groups, you're basically only making enough to survive
new girl crush KRISTEN you are so beautiful. 😍♥️♥️
Love from Philippines 🇵🇭
As a KPop fan for over 10 years... I can't even begin to talk about TVXQ, JYJ and SME. YG &JYP. JYJ's story is the deepest in KPop.
In the new run episode bts were allowed to go home as a ‘price’ they were so happy to go home, jin literally screamed like-

React to Stray kids aussie line being a mess
Although the danger is the same for celebrities around the world kpopers have more of it ...i think one of the reasons is that they share too much of their life into socialmedia so for some people can cause an obsession which is not kpop groups fault...we hope they stay strong🌌
