    Nice 👌 very nice !! Swear you are the GOD of g23 builds! 😆 I did 45 degree on my last torque sequence since I'm using a inch torque wrench and it doesn't go past 60ft lbs 😅 but I marked the top of the bolt with a sharpie and cranked it til it reached a 45 degree angle. And I'm using stock oem headbolts, but I made sure to buy brand new ones. I ended up re using my last set twice and I think I started leaking some coolant into the cylinders.. I had some oil on top of the pistons when I disassembled the last block. But I remember I poured oil through the spark plug tube on all the cylinders just to try and lube up the cylinders since I had a hard time turning the motor over by hand and did not know it was due to me having 5he rods on backwards and having all the rod caps mixed up and on the wrong rods.. uh yai yai.. but this time around, I promise I did everything right and made sure to double check every nut and bolt.

Thought of sharing some of my experienced building this frank motor, w/c a lot of people stay away from it coz it can really be a pain in the( you what). Hope l'll get lucky on this one. 3rd time is a charm l hope. Hey thanks for watching.

    Hey Noel! Hope everything is going well! I'm always coming back to your videos to make my day go by faster and more motivation.. lol work can be boring and back breaking sometimes. But I'm rebuilding a motor and going a all motor route this time.. using j30a5 pistons instead of k20a2 pistons this time.. so my compression won't be through the roof again and blow all of my ring lands like last time..

      Doing good, still working on Myllie, it seems no end lol!. Just got done fixing all the air leaks. Now l need to have it retune. Boost cut or fuel cut on 3rd gear, you'll see sometime next week. Hi compression is not good, unless you use e85. Alright bud, go easy and good luck on your build. Later

    Hey, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Question, do you think the felpro head gasket going on a h22 block and head would also have the same issue like not covering the drainage port completely like it did in you f22 block?

    • @sagittnet2158
      @sagittnet2158  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries man! You shouldn't have a problem on felpro headgasket on H22 block and head. The problem we run into was on frank motor, were we used F23 felpro headgasket on H22 head. Your'e ok on straight H.

    Very nice, I’m in the process of rebuilding my h22, if i wanted to go for an f23 block, I can use 86mm k20a pistons w/ f23 rods? And with an oem f23 HG it just bolts up? Are there any other issues to look out for? There is quite a lot of misinformation on this Frankenstein engine.. many people say it’s prone to failure.. I’m just looking forward to larger displacement as well as cast iron sleeves. You make it seem like no worries.. let me know, maybe it’s better than rebuilding my h22 with FRM sleeves.

      Yes, f23/ h22 hybrid is a bit of a headache if not done correctly. It really require a bit of multiple tries to get it right. Running NA is not bad and boost it is another. This is my 3rd attemp running a boost g23vtec. Why l'm doin it again is to test all those previous 2 hybrid that engine that died on me. If l fail on this 1, l'll put this hybrid to rest. I can suggest if you want to try it out building 1. Try it out for a project and have a spare car, so if it breaks, it doesnt leave you stranded. Rebuild your H22 coz of the reliability of it. I'm hoping this motor(g23vtec) will be a successful 1, we'll see. Hoping it'll be ready by early next year.

      As long as you use a Honda OE F23 headgasket and make sure you do a good job installing a plug on your cyl head. Only use Hondabond, Megagrey sealant or any equivalent sealant of those 2 brand from your area. If you are using a Kstune headplug that use 2 O ring seals, apply some sealant over it. Lots of people complain that oil seep pass thru it still. I think its because of 2 dissimilar metal. It expand and contract differently. That's only my opinion, also make sure that the cyl head is flat or w/in Honda specs. Good luck on your project and leave a msg of you need any help. Later man!

    Why not use Cometic head gaskets? Does the f23 OEM clear the combustion chamber and what about water jackets? Wouldn't you want h22 water flow to match the head ?

    • @sagittnet2158
      @sagittnet2158  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never tried any other brand orher than Felpro and it gave us a oil leak problem. There was an area that felpro f23 headgasket didnt quite cover on the head side. So l stick w/ oem, + $$ wise, oem and felpro are almost same price. I always match the block when it comes to f23 block. I can only recommend Oem F23 headgasket and not try any other. This is base on my experienced and always watch those copper rivets that hold the gasket together.

      No, coz the f23 block are missing 2 oil drain port at the timing belt side. Unless you use h22a4 block (98-2k, 55mm) and f23 internals. You can go that route. Just remove the oil squirters and plug the port

    they are compatible the F series block with the H series head like a f20z1 block with a h22 head
    ?

      I'm not too sure if it can be couple together like the usdm F22 and F23 series block. I googled searched it and f20z1 has 85mmx88mm. I think your best bet will be to check out F20B cyl head and it's basically same head like H22 except H22 has bigger valves. Headgasket are the key, make sure to try out the head gasket (youll use the f20z1 headgasket) on either cyl head you have and start from there. Pay attention on the thin side space of the gasket at oil drain port and copper seal. I think this will give you a idea if it's possible. Thanks mate.

    Lol yeah its understandable why this combination exist however the stroke of this motor added too 8k+ rpm is hell on piston and cylinder walls, unless long-term durability and reliability isnt a concern, if this is a requirement h23 crank probably be a better choice for high revving as the f23 is more of a torque monster than anything else, but probably still cheaper either route than a k swap 😉
