- Hey Guys, Migs Here! In today’s video, I take the dirt bike, a 1992 Suzuki RM125, out for it’s first ride on the street! This has never had so much power due to installing the racing carburetor and clutch which made a huge power increase, so this is my first time feeling the pure two stroke powerband! On the ride, I had to test and make sure that it is running and performing right so it’s ready for the track! Thanks for Watching! It’s just because the late model 2 stroke have more bottom end the old ones have no bottom end and it’s all top
Do the old ones have power valves? Because if they dont, it obviosly feels like they hit the powerband harder, theres much less power in the low and mid rpms.

You do idle 2 strokes to warm them up. Dont go riding on them cold. Thats terrible. Can lead to cold seizing. It scores up the 4 "corners" of the piston.

Omg the first person that I've seen that know thing about bike. I have a RM 85 / stroke and I warm it up for a minute and a half and then I'm ready to go. Btw you have to give a 2 stroke bit of a rev or it will stall. I just adjust my idle so it does not stall

I have a business that specializes in 125 idk about 250 that much it seems like u need a clutch kit because it can happened when ur shifting without the clutch and wears out over time
@@taurienhill5355 well see the thing is I had the bikes top end rebuilt, plus they replaced the clutch also, I forgot to mention that my shift lever is lose, i usually tighten it but it always loosens up over time, could it being loose and maybe the engine vibrating so much since it's a 2 stroke cause it to down shifr
@@hunterlamb5086 sounds like the tension spring and part that fits onto the selector drum isnt keeping the selector drum tight its down to the left of your cluch basket
Using 4 fingers for the clutch on a 2 stroke is an illegal offence
If your riding it right you wouldn’t be able to use 4 fingers because the power would pull your hand away from the bars

Don’t split those cases again. Your shifting problem is behind the side cover definitely. It’s probably an easy fix just something out of place

You need to get your facts straight. You should Always let a 2 stroke warm up before you start to ride it. And you should try re packing the expancion chamber and se how that goes(DONT DO IT) And then try to re pack the mufler/silencer and se if that helps any more. If you are taking that bike to the track then you need to fix the clutch and the gears. Taking the bike as it is now is just stupid. Do things the right way. And yea you should absolutly get rid of most of your 4strokes and get a 80/85cc bigwheel bike and start learning on that. The 125 is to tall and to powerfull for being a good starter/learner bike.
supertedogpriken no you don’t let a 2 stroke warm up ? you’re not supposed to really let it idle it builds up oil in your silence and could lead to a fouled plug i usually start my bike put my helmet on and go and it’s fine.
SgtRumer 2021 if you’re fouling plugs on warmup your jetting is wrong and you’re running too rich. 2 strokes should not foul plugs but they get the bad reputation of fouling a lot because of people not properly jetting their carbs and doing a plug chop to confirm.

You should get a graphics kit for it
Take of the right engine cover and look at the shift axel. Common issue is a pin that threads in the case and holds the axle spring. It could have gotten loose
Mabye you have to let the bike warm up and fix THE RETURN SPRING ON THE SHIFT SHAFT THEN IT WILL SHIFT RIGHT REEEEREEEEEERRREEREEEEEEEE

@@supertedogpriken the fact that suzuki hasnt even made a steady podium finish in years, RC and Travis rode suzukis but look at them...they are always working on them and constantly rebuilding them. Roman atwood goes to see travis occasionally and i think every time hes went trav had his suzuki apart. Kawasaki and ktm are so far ahead when it comes to power delivery and speed. It may be a lot of the riders skill and ability but not if the bike doesnt have the ability to go as fast as the rest

The bike deserves a sticker / decal kit migs looks plain without full yellow plastics kit would like great too but personal opinion i guess cant stand black moulds 🤢 get that gearing issue fixed and this bike with be real fun at the next track visit 😎🤞

Guys all cars and motorcycles and trucks and farm equipment along With machinery are the same ALWAYS warm it up weather it be gas or diesel, ALWAYS warm your engine UP this is because an engine wears the MOST when it's cold so to minimise that fact warm it up as soon as the get go you feel me ...👍
My first bike I ever got was an 06 rm 125 big bore to a 144 and still have it awesome bike unreal amount of power but definitely too much at first i hurt myself a lot but now I rip if u ain’t mixing gas u ain’t going fast!

It's not that impressive. You're just not used to being in a power band of a motorbike. Just get used to that rpm range [ powerband ]. It's the basics of accelerating on any motorbike. Some will accelerate sharper and harder than others, it's normal. :)
i cant stand peoples disposition and how people act and talk like thEY know what they are talking about instead of being humble and being inquisitive and asking the right questions instead of insisting they are some kind of 2 stroke guru with all the aanswers that will tell u all the secrets and tips on how to do things the right way....i guess its the arrogance and ignorance of youth, people hear something online and suppose its true without researching then the pass on the ignorance to others tryng to learn and reinforce bad information like its the absolute truth....ughhhh makes me cringe.and 2 stroke or 4 stroke..car or bike..any internal combustion engine has many diffrent metals and different co efficients of thermal expansion such as steel and aluminum and cast iron or alloys...since most motors are made up of diff metals that have to co exist with each other in harmony and diff metals expand at different rates.....the whole business of warming up slowly lets these diff expansion rates thermally harmonize with each other to produce a motor thats efficient and healthy, and any quick rapid change of a metals temp causes a more chAotic expansion EVENT that can cause seizures and other types of malfunctions......and u dont have to sit there and let it idle at 1000 rpm...u can increase rpms to around 3 to 4 thousand (1/16th throttle) to speed up the process. and another reason is when Your bike is COLD.....THE PISTON RING GAP TO CYLINDER WALL CLEARANCE IS WIDER WHEN COLD WHICH A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF BLOW BY TAKES PLACE UNTIL REACHING OPERATING TEMPERATURE AND THE COMBUSTION EVENT HASNT REACHED A HOT ENOUGH TEMP TO EFFICIENTLY BURN THE PREMIX....THATS WHY IT SMOKES ALOT WHEN COLD...THATS UNBURNED HYDROCARBONS AND OIL BEING PISSED OUT UR EXHAUST..AND UNTIL THE SOUNDS WWAVES CAN PROPOGATE AND REVERBERATE AROUND THE INSIDE OF THE HEADER PIPE AND RETRACT BACK TO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER IN EFFECT SUPERCHARGING YOUR CYLINDER AND AFTER WARM NO WASTE AND UNBURNED PREMIX GETS OUT OF ATMOSPHERE SINCE THE REFLECTIVE SOUND WAVE SENDING THE UNBURNED FUEL BACK IN GETS PROPERLY BURNED....WHICH IS WHY WHEN YOUR BIKE IS FULLY WARM..IT SHOULDNT SMOKE AT ALL OR VERY LITTLE SINCE THE WHOLE MOTOR IS TIGHTER AND MORE EFFICIENT WITH MORE COMPRESSION.......U WANT TO MINIMIZE THIS BLOW BY EFFECT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE UNTIL WARM...IF U DONT WARM UP RIGHT AND JUST PIN IT, U ARE CREATING MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF BLOW BY WHICH IN TURN CARBONIZES THE FUCK OUTTA YOUR PISTON AND WEAKENS ITS STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY EVENTUALLY AND CAUSING YOUR TOP END TO WEAR OUT THAT MUCH FASTER .

I just watched a young youtuber who took a project on a test ride and had a terrible crash he was not wearing his seat belt or wearing a helmet....so please please always remember your safety equipment I like watching your vids and would hate to see any miss fortune so again please always remember your safety equipment when riding and or testing. Its because your cables are all routed incorrectly it makes me crings seeing how rough and untidy your bikes are, learn to follow a service manual
2 strokes can be engine braked People think When your not on the throttle the gas is not going through the cylinder to lube it. But the engine is still running when you engine brake so its getting fuel to lube the cylinder. If the engine was getting no fuel it wound not be running.
I would be careful man, the bike definitely sounds like it is running way lean, and there is no smoke even when cold, have a fiddle with that mixture screw...
Thers 2 small flaps on a round cogs behind the gear side casing at the bottom front side wen u tack it off you will see them get 2 nuw ones for it thats what it is as is keeps going up thay not working as thay should be same hapend with my rm there was 2 left ones in my bike should be a left and right in it have a look at them easy fix that will be good luck with it

"2 strokes are not supposed to be engine braked" where is that from? All bikes should be engine braked. Downshifting is gonna do it for you whether you want to or not.

I threw my expansion chamber in the fire for a couple of hrs burnt out all the oil in it cleaned it up repainted it now it really goes hard

Only reason your bike is doing that in first gear is because your not riding the clutch your just using throttle you gotta balance it
