    Thanks bro you saved me hundreds. I also find it ridiculous that Canon is charging 400$ for the complete set and a little over 200 for a drop in filter... I love canon but they are repeated offenders when it comes to over pricing their products. UPDATE: After picking up this adapter and doing some test in lightroom I noticed that the filters do affect sharpness in your images so keep that in mind.

    Why do they have Glass in the Clear? Why don't they just use a blank frame to put a slug into the opening and plug it from light coming in? Seems like not needed to have any glass in there at all that could cause any reflections or dust, etc.

    • @FulaanCreative
      @FulaanCreative  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, I don't know why they did it like that. I heard that if the clear isn't in there it will have a hard time focusing so I tested it to see and for me it focused fine so not sure what's the point of the clear.

    Hey, thanks for putting the time and effort into making this video. Meike (mikey), is a great brand. I'd be really interested to see your style of review on one of their lenses on the EOS R.
    I wasn't sure if something would be amiss between the Canon and Meike drop in ring, but based on your review, I'd be a madman to buy the Canon one. I've got my eye on the Tamron 15-30mm 2.8. This filter ring and that lens combo would blow up my wide shots.
    Anyway, I smashed the like button. This is quality content.
    Where are you shooting this video. It looks mad equatorial outside. 🙂

    • @FulaanCreative
      @FulaanCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Theorn! Actualy I'm in Turkey. I did a review on the EOS R and pretty much all the outdoor footage was shot using the Meike drop in ND filter on the Tamron 15-30. It has Luts applied but I didn't have to color correct any of it due to any color shift from the ND so that video should give you an idea what to expect from the R and this ND filter. @@FulaanCreative The E-mount lock is pretty solid so that's a great news to know! I was thinking of PL to E-mount but seems to have some play and not as clicky as the EF nor E mount. The PL mount might be overrated or something wrong with that adapter. Thanks a lot for the feedback!

    I've never heard you mention losing an f stop with the Meike adapter. But you did mention you covered a speed booster in the video link at the end. Followed the link but it wasn't a speedbooster in that one either. The variable ND filter version is in that video. This is a sudden issue for me. I bought the Meike adapter (w/o the var ND filter) to use my R10 with a telescope. I just had a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 delivered. But with my adapter, I'm only getting f3.5. Probably safe to assume it's due to not using a speedbooster?

    • @FulaanCreative
      @FulaanCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure I understand your question. The ND filter adapter should not have any effect whatsoever on your aperture. If it's a 3.5 lens it should give you 3.5 fstop. Seems like the adapter might be malfunctioning.

    • @MO-ss7qt
      @MO-ss7qt ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FulaanCreative Thank you so much for taking the time to address my question. I've got the Meike ef/rf adapter without the ND filter. Using it, my Sigma f2.8 lens only opens to f3.5. I assume since the adapter moves the lens away from the sensor it causes a loss of about an fstop and that's what the speedbooster fixes. But you're saying, I shouldn't be losing an fstop using the adapter. I'm going to order the Meike with the variable ND filter and give it a shot. Thanks again for taking time out to help! Your videos have already been immensely helpful and to get personal attention is over the top!

      @@MO-ss7qt No prob. Thanks for watching and commenting. Regarding your adapter, it still sounds like 1 of 2 things. Either the lens or adapter is malfunctioning or the camera is showing you f3.5 on the screen but it's really f2.8 and the communication is just bad between the lens and adapter for some reason. The distance you mentioned has no bearing on the fstop. I have a bunch of plain ef/rf adapters and none of them have an issue like that.

    • @MO-ss7qt
      @MO-ss7qt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FulaanCreative Immediately after posting my last comment I pulled the lens out and connected it again. The R10 showed f3.5 and when I rolled the aperture dial it went right down to f2.8. I don't know why it wouldn't move before but I know it didn't. I think we can both safely assume it was some kind of cockpit error. Short story, it has healed. I'm sorry for wasting your time. But not sorry to learn you ain't no diva and what at a cool dude you really are! You usually don't hear jack from popular creators. Being able to bounce this off someone else was huge! It has an ever so slight give to it. Nothing really noticeable unless you twist it with your hands. I never used the lens you are referencing but I use it with no problems with my tamron 15-30 which is an extremely large and heavy lens. Check the dimensions and weight of the tamron compared to the lens you are referencing. That should give you an idea.

    Help me out here.. why cant I just get a built in ND Filter to use with my EF-M Lenses that isnt a damn Adapter? Just EF-M to EF-M please? Massive opening in the market, all these built ins are Adapater. Huge oversight by Manufacturers

    • @FulaanCreative
      @FulaanCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol. I know what you mean. The reason is actually simple. It's not possible natively because it's a mirrorless camera with lenses designed for mirrorless cameras. The EF lenses are lenses designed for DSLR cameras not mirrorless and because of that there is extra flange space between the mount and the Lens so there is space for a filter. With native mirrorless lenses like EF-m or RF there is no physical space for a filter. This results in the possiblity of smaller cameras and lenses which is one of the appeals of mirrorless systems. So yeah that's why there isn't any non adapter filters of this type..

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't believe it would work on the sl3 as it is for RF mount cameras.
