    So in one of the novels, Alpharius essentially gives us his autobiography, saying that originally the 20th Legion only had the one Primarch. Then, when the Primarchs were flung across the galaxy by Chaos, Alpharius landed on Earth and was recovered almost immediately, making him the first Primarch to be found and not Horus, but this was kept a secret from the wider Imperium and Alpharius was raised by the Emperor's right-hand man and Spymaster, Malcador the Sigilite. Alpharius remained incognito as a member of his own Alpha Legion, developing his spy network throughout the Imperium, but always having this gnawing feeling that he was missing something. As the Great Crusade began and had carried on for decades and all the other Primarchs were discovered, the still undercover Alpharius heard tell of a man who matched the description of a Primarch, and upon further investigation found out that he had a twin brother, Omegon. The two discussed the matter and realized that the empty feeling they had felt all of their lives vanished when they were together, and came to the conclusion that they were originally one being that had been somehow split into two, perfectly sound in mind and body, but their soul had been split in two. Omegon's existence was never revealed to the wider Imperium, and to further the deception even more, Alpharius and Omegon swapped identities before they ever returned to their Legion, with Omegon taking the name Alpharius and vice versa, and the twins staged a pirate raid on Horus's fleet to formally introduce 'Alpharius' to the Imperium.
    The only problem with this explanation is two phrases said at the beginning and end of the book:
    _"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."_
    _"...but this is my record. And all records lie."_

    the wolves were sent to capture and bring back magnus only, iirc some word bearer managed to change "arrest and detain" to "seek and destroy", hence it was a battle for literal survival. also iirc it was azek ahriman who struck the deal tha ported everyone to the "planet of the sorcerers" within the eye of terror. that deal also husked a ton of the legion (citation needed)

    • @ironduke5058
      @ironduke5058 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      No it wasn't a Word Bearer who changed the orders, it was Horus himself who was already corrupted at that point. Though unknown by the rest of the Imperium. And from what I know it was Magnus who struck the deal, what Ahriman did was he tried to cast a spell called "The Rubric". The spell was supposed to cure the legion from the flesh change but made them turn to dust inside their armour instead.

    As the Blood Angels are my favorite chapter, let me explain this to you. The Black Rage isn't something that just comes and goes, once a Blood Angel falls to this debilitating disease, because that is what it is, it isn't just that you feel angry, it is that your mind plays tricks on you, convinces you you are back in the Horus Heresy and all you see is Horus, the man responsible for the death of your primarch, your father , the man responsible for the decay and degradation of the Imperium. And then they can no longer tell apart friend from foe. Those Blood Angels are either visited by the executioner of the Blood Angels, Astorath the Grim, and killed. Or they are put in what is called the Death Company, they are then put in black armor with red crosses symbolizing the wounds of Sanguinius and if memory serves, they are frozen and then dropped into enemy positions where they thaw and then slaughter everything in sight, their purpose is to cause as much damage to the enemy as possible before they die, so that they can die in battle and at least serve the Emperor and Sanguinius in that way before they die, so that they can be of use to their battle brothers.

    • @Spacewizzard090
      @Spacewizzard090 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I believe only Lemartes is frozen, as he somehow maintains his mental composure even though he has fallen to the Black Rage. Before each battle, the sanguinary priests and chaplains check on all the Blood Angel warriors for signs of the Black Rage and take them aside to form the Death Company, if there are enough of them. I guess they "Freeze" the Death Company Dreadnoughts, as they are only awake whilst in a chassis. This is 5/6 ed lore, tho, so GW may have changed it since then.

    So since you guys asked here's a compilation of all the interactions involving the 2nd and 11th I know of
    The 1st happens during the early great crusade. Malcador (Emperor's closest companion) is the only one on Terra because the Big E is doing some stuff, so he's automatically in charge. Now the way the Terran palace is built is there is this long ass hall leading to the Imperial Palace with absolutely huge statues of all the Primarchs leading all the way up to the entrance. Now Big E and Malcador have decided to tear down the 2nd and 11th's statues as part of the deletion of all knowledge of the them. At the time Primarch Horus, Jaghtai Khan and Alpharius were also on Terra and Alpharius let the other two know what's happening. Horus burst into the chamber where Malcador was having a meeting and the dude is absolutely livid. He asks wtf Malcador is doing and how he could even dare to do that to a monument of one of his brothers, one which he respected and fought beside. Malcador softly tells Horus to calm down but he doesn't listen. He keeps yelling and he tries to say one of their names, and before he even starts Malcador lifts his arm, utters a few syllables and basically force chokes the crap out of Horus, closing his wind pipe. Jaghtai and Alpharius panic and beg Malcador to stop but he only lets go after looking Horus in the eyes and telling him that he will spank him since his Father isn't here and Horus shouldn't think he's a weak pushover just because he's an old man. He lets him go and Horus is damn near dead at the end of it. The other two Primarchs lift him up and the three of them scurry off.
    Second is a during the Siege of Terra where Dorn is busy planning out his defence and he basically goes "Man, if only I had two more legions to work with". Malcador tells him to not even think about it and Dorn says he knows,but he's curious as to why. So he asks Malcador to break the psychic blocks on his memories and he obliges. Afterwards Dorn says that yeah no, if they were still here everything would've been lost already. It's for the best that they're gone.
    Another small one is from Guilliman and the Lion. During the Heresy he had the Lion on Macragge in some private room of his with a huge dining table. The Lion counted 20 seats total and each of them were designed to the style of each brother. The Lion noticed the 2nd and 11th seat and became kinda sad and basically went "You really did hope that one day we could sit as a family didn't you? Even them?" And Guilliman went "Yeah, even the ones we lost we should never forget. Their seats will remain. They'll be empty and cold, but they'll remain."
    The fourth and final shred I know is that the two of them are called "The lost and the damned". This is probably because something bad happened to one, while the other had to get beaten to a pulp. We don't know. But the theory is supported by the fact that Leeman Russ has referenced to the fact that he's the Emperor's executioner and that though he's already taken down one of his brothers, he doesn't really like to do it. It's just a dirty job to him. Only thing is that at the time he made the reference he hadn't killed any other Primarchs yet so who could he talking about except one of the two?
    All the references are super obscure and from the top of my head, that's all I could remember. Hopefully you found it enlightening or at least interesting.

    Raven guard on tabletop represents stealth by deploying units on the middle of the battlefield before battle even starts, using cover more effectively and being pain in the ass to shoot from far distance. They also get a lot of bonuses when they fire at characters (like captains and warlords). They also have better snipers

    So the blood angels, there are two afflictions that haunt them. The first is the Red Thirst - this was happening before Sanguinius died, and gives them their thirst for blood. This can delay the other, worse affliction.
    The Black Rage - this is caused from Sang’s death. This is when they lose themselves and see Horus as the enemy. They tend to murder non-blood angels allies (usually normal humans), when the Black Rage takes ahold of a BA, they usually succumb wholly to it and are stuck into the Death Company. These are all afflicted with the Black Rage and act as shock troops sent in ahead to decimate the enemy, not a terribly long life after this. There have been angels that have broken out of the rage, it’s very rare, and speaks more to the badass-ness of the one who has broke out of it.
    The missing legions, there is no word of them at all in the hundreds of books. Most believe this is to allow fans to make their own legions for games. There are small hints of them, but it’s no more than “we don’t talk about them” and “the emperor killed them lol”.
    The World Eaters, they were decent dudes until they chose to implant horrific tech into them that forces them to anger, if they feel other emotions than anger, they feel extreme pain. Angron was actually supposed to be the most empathetic primarch, his ability was the ability to absorb negative feelings from others and take them himself. He was the ultimate therapist, until he received his Butchers Nails, the tech to force him angry. Tragic af.
    DeathGuard, if you play Darktide, the enemies in the game are usually alongside Death Guard marines. Infected humans with pestilence that are turned into essentially zombies. Fun fact, in a book about them, a Word Bearer ship and a Death Guard ship go to meet up in space. The Word Bearers could SMELL the Death Guards before the got the ships close enough to ferry the leaders to meet. In space. They could smell them before they got the ships near each other, that’s how unbelievably stinky they are.
    The Word Bearers are the coolest to read about imo for traitor legions. They have this super dark gothic aesthetic and perform blood rituals and sacrifices when they can to summon daemons. Super unique as far as the Chaos Marines go.
    If y’all decide to play, I would suggest starting with a Kill Team game. Less models to assemble and paint, and generally simpler. They have all factions as normal 40k.
    One of us! One of us!

    Angron story = _Spartacus Slave Revolt_
    But at the last battle Angron was set to lead, that could have potentially been won (probably not) and free his people, some random guy came down from space, kidnapped him, and told him he had to fight in this other "wacky" war instead. All Angron could do was look down as his fellow slaves (the brothers he was raised with, bled with, comforted, fought for, and led to victory) all got massacred in this last battle for freedom without him there; being that he was abducted against his will.

    Actually, I do have a few pieces of new, current day lore.
    1. During the Indomitus Era (current times with Bobby G), Chaos is returning as a very present and threatening enemy after the destruction of Cadia.
    2. The Arks of Omen are unveiled as a project accomplished by Abaddon the Despoiler ( Son of Horus who leads a ton of chaos forces) and a new Chaos Demon of Invention Vashtorr the Arkifane. He makes everyone's guns and demon Warp machines. It's surprisingly fair in his deals and is trying to become the 5th Chaos God.
    3. The Tyranids have won a massive war against the Orks across like 15% of the Galaxy and have scattered their empire. This was known as the Octarius War, one of attrition, endless brutalities, and hyper violence. So the Nids are super steroid juiced off Ork meat.
    4. The Black Rage and Red Thirst have been cured by Mephiston, the current like Alpha tier psyker that now houses the entire psychic curse of the Black Rage contained within him. He now wields the Rage of Sanguinius in its totality.

    After the Horus Heresy, many of the Space Marine Chapters were sub-divided into smaller and newer Chapters in accordance with the newly-written Codex Astartes. See, the Chapters at the time of the Horus Heresy were considerably larger than the 1000-man strong they would later be capped at. For example, the White Scars were subdivided into four Chapters: the Destroyers, the Marauders, the Rampagers, and the Storm Lords.
    The Salamanders were one of (if not the only one) the Chapters that were exempted from being subdivided into new Chapters because there simply weren't enough of them left to make multiple Chapters out of. Even back in the Great Crusade, the Salamanders were one of the smallest of the Legions thanks to their near-suicidal dedication to protecting civilians.

    "Most of Warhammer was a lot better than that"
    Bricky is referring to how a lot of wh40k is basically a tragedy story. For example, take Magnus' (primarch 15) fall to chaos. Magnus was a loyalist before the Horus Heresy, but he made several mistakes that kept making the situation worse. He was even offered a chance at redemption and fighting for the Imperium again, but that would mean abandoning his sons as they were too far gone in their chaos corruption. In this particular instance, Magnus was a better father than Emperor and chose to stay with his sons and lasheded against the Emperor. During a fight with best boi primarch, Magnus was about to lose and gave his soul to Tzeentch and became a Demon Primarch.

    So quickly about the Alpha Legion, they do actually have facial reconstruction surgery to look almost identical to their primarchs Alpharius and Omegon because that means they can impersonate them on official business and the primarchs stay safe since no one really knows if it's them or a decoy making them incredibly hard to assassinate or corner.
    And the reason why they're twins is because they got split into two when the primarch were sent scattered through the universe by the warp chaos gods in order to sabotage the Emperors plans, they still share the same soul though so it's two bodies and personalities but the same soul though they do agree on most things together and act basically as one when they're together.
    Also Alpha Legion agents once poisoned a world's water supply that made the psykers on that world hallucinate that it was raining snakes to such an extent that through the psychics warp ability it happened and half the world's population died in the first day from venomous snake bites until all the psykers collapsed into a coma and the legion descended upon the world, claiming all the comatose psykers and left.

They are known as the Forgotten and the Purged. Possibly related to one of the worst campaigns of the Great Crusade called the Rangdan Xenocides. Big Woop From me! always hyped to see a new Warhammer Vid from you guys, I love your discussions about this, and how Jayson has betrayed the good guys! what a character arc haha.
    another recommendation from me actually is another Bricky Video, he goes over all the factions again, but instead of lore, he goes over how each of them generally play, it was made 2 years ago, but I'd like to think it's still adjacently accurate, so you could give that a watch Since you guys plan on getting armies and figuring out which one to pick, but again, it's not all about gameplay, even if they're not the strongest army, buy the faction you enjoy the most!
    Bricky - What's the best Warhammer 40k Faction/Army to start with:
    th-cam.com/video/RlL7SR8hv0Q/w-d-xo.html&t
    Additionally, I have also made my Comment adding additional Info and Answers to your questions, but it became too large, so I had to put the continuation on the replies to that comment.
    For My Top 3 Space Marine Legions I'd have to go:
    1. Ultramarines, It wasn't really explored in the vid, but the Ultramarines are roman themed, and as a fan of Roman culture, I'm down bad for the blue boys.
    2. Alpha Legion, I just love the Espionage thing as well as the ambiguity of their true allegiance, it makes them so interesting.
    3. Thousand Sons, I just feel bad for them, and their aesthetic is just so cool, Sorcerer Space Marines with an army of Living Armor.
    Honorable Mentions: Dark Angels, Blood Angels, and Emperor's Children.
    Excited to see your Top 3's. Love ya Guys!

    _"Does anger give them extra strength?"_ Yes. Quite a lot in fact. It also makes them resistant to people fucking with their minds, grants limited resistance to psychic space magic, and it gives them an insane tolerance for pain and a virtual inability to feel fear or hesitate in the face of things that would even make Space Marines soil themselves. And if you are particularly angry, you can just refuse to die, like the 1st Captain of the World Eaters, Kharne the Betrayer, who died on Terra during the Horus Heresy and rose from the dead because he was just THAT pissed off. Such a swell guy too...

    The alpha legion has two primarchs because when the primarchs were babies still in tubes they got sucked into a warp storm that scattered them across the galaxy. In this process Alpharius got split into two. They share the same soul.
    Alpharius and Omegon are the shortest primarchs and possibly the physically weaker ones individually, but together they are an unstoppable force.
    Alpharius landed on Terra (on earth) and was the first Primarch to be found (thus Alpharius), however the emperor kept his existence a secret even from the other primarchs.
    Eventually Alpharius met Omegon in another planet, and they switched places, Alpharius started calling himself Omegon, and Omegon started calling himself Alpharius.
    They switched places a few times, but eventually Alpharius got killed by Rogal Dorn (primarch of the imperial fists), we dont know if it was actually Alpharius or Omegon pretending to be Alpharius.
    Then Omegon, who might actually be alpharius, took the name of Alpharius in respect to his dead brother Alpharius that couldve been actually Omegon.
    So now there is only one of them, this is certain.
    Another thing about the Alpha legion is that they are officially heretical, however that are things they do that make people believe they are actually double agents.
    Another theory is that one of the twin primarchs was actually heretical and the other twin was actually loyalist, so half the legion could be heretical and the other half loyalist.

    16:40 *Just got done explaining that the World Eaters were once normal space marines that got degraded over time to the point they are more akin to rapid dogs than humans now*
    "What did he mean when he said they were better than they are now"
    "I don't know"
    That actually made me do a comically cartoonish double-take
    Edit: OK I don't know what the point was suppose to he about the salamanders, maybe it's a mixture of me knowing more about them and not fully understanding where he's getting at, but space marines are suppose to protect humans its kinda why they were made in the 1st place. Also they're not a finite resource, you can keep making space marines as long as there is one to extract the geneseed so it's not that much of a loss to have 1 die

      During 30k the World Eaters were noble they still had butchers nails in their head for Angron but they tempered it when the Heresy occurred the World Eaters had the most marines who stood loyal to the Emperor than other traitor legions.

  • @mistabrrrly
    @mistabrrrly ปีที่แล้ว +7

    So for Angron and the World Eaters, the Nails actually took Angron’s psychic abilities. All Primarchs have an aura that they give off that normal humans and space marines react to and urges them to kneel, Angron doesn’t. Angron was also an Empath and used his abilities to ease the pain of his fellow gladiators but once the nails were in his head he lost that ability. His sons, wanted to prove themselves to their father that they like the slaves of Nuceria could get the Nails. Unfortunately Angron’s nails were degrading his brain and by the time of the heresy (I think 100 years after he was found) he was on the verge of death almost dying several times because of the nails. Then Lorgar “saved” him, Best quote to describe Angron’s life is “You didn’t save my life, you ruined my death!”. I ordered Angron’s new model and i look forward to building it
    Best description of the Death Guard’s tactics is “a hand slowly closing around a neck”
    The only Word Bearer I like is Argel Tal, Erebus is a punk and I want him to die.
    It’s currently theorized for Alpharius Omegon is that when their pod was sent through the warp their soul was split into two bodies. Alpharius: Head of the Hydra is a great book about this

    • @satsunada
      @satsunada ปีที่แล้ว

      It also led to a distrust in psykers later. That slowly pushed them either out of the legion entirely (it's theorized some became the first Grey Knights) or were slowly purged for even the smallest slight. The one's that stayed, either through attrition, or getting the nails, were slowly exterminated.

  • @Souledex
    @Souledex ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Your story about Magnus is accurate, except every one of the ones left had a disease that could possibly make them mutate out of control into a horrible monster and Magnus gave his Eye to Tzeentch to save them (and for a degree of sorcerous power). Edit: lol you saved it
    They were down to only 1000 marines, thus the Thousand Sons. Basically they are the only humans we've ever seen study human experience of the warp in an advanced liberal, and brilliant way as they are all natural psykers that value intelligence as compared with the Grey Knights who value physical and mental Purity and literally have their minds erased as part of initiation. Magnus did nothing wrong, he made decent decisions with the information he had at the time (though the rituals used to act on them were probably questionable. like using a thousand thralls and his legions captains to send his mind across the galaxy after stabbing him through the heart).
    But he had the Emperor's spirit to go out there and apply himself to the problems of mankind, and face the threats and knowledge himself so others don't have to - I mean the Emperor literally went on a Hercules style quest for 10,000 years (no time in real world) to get the power and knowledge (and warp god souls - just a theory about primarchs) to create his sons and the Great Crusade. It arguably made him so detatched and inhuman it caused a lot of these problems. So if we praise the Emperor for being forward thinking and bold - its weird to blame him for making the same choices with less information when necessary information that absolutely should have been covered was withheld. It's like pretending that Sex doesn't exist and then acting suprised when your kid got pregnant - if you trust your son's with the human race you should probably trust them with knowledge of chaos (or at least a mindwalled engram that unlocks when they encounter them).

    Angron led a slave rebellion and was holed up on a mountain top with about 1000 of the slaves. The armies of the planets overlords were coming to crush them. On the eve of the battle the Emperor came to Angron and was like, "Yo, i got a legion of space marines for you, lets go save the universe" Angron said no, he wanted to die with his comrades. The Emperor could have ordered the space marines or the custodes to help the slaves, instead he left. Then, as the battle started he teleported Angron out of the battle. The slaves were crushed since their leader vanished. The Emperor told Angron that the slaves didn't matter to him. Then Angron told him, "All you shall have is a husk of a man" and the Emperor replied, "A husk is all i need". So, yeah, the Emperor, kind of a dick.

    Alright I'm back and here's my comment for answering any questions you may have had and adding more fun tidbits for each of the Legions this video! I'm so hyped to see more 40k from you guys! again, if there's any more questions I'd be happy to help, and I'm sure if there's anything wrong here, the other commenters will surely be happy to help.
    So let's go:
    1. Blood Angels - the Blood drinkers of Sanguinius. just to clarify, the Red Thirst doesn't make them need to drink blood, but they have an extremely powerful urge to, and even the most powerful Blood Angels cannot resist it. and for those who suffer the Black Rage, of which only a handful have ever been able to snap out of, they are sent to the Chapter's Death Company, a special unit only filled with those suffering the insanity of the Black Rage and there they'll stay until they're slain in a battle that they are deployed in. Sanguinius is actually the only Primarch out of the 20 of them that all the others liked and/or respected, that's how great Sanguinius is, in fact, if Horus, the most Charismatic of the Primarchs had not been chosen to be the Warmaster of the Imperium before the Horus Heresy, everyone would only have ever agreed to Sanguinius as a substitute choice (fun fact, when Guilliman, and a few other primarchs thought the Emperor was killed at the start of the Heresy, they were ready to proclaim him as his successor). and Sanguinius never let it go to his head, for one simple reason, he thought that he himself was a mutant monster and was deeply ashamed of the fact that he had mutated wings when he first arrived on his homeworld of Baal. Unfortunately he's dead, just like bricky said and he will never have a 40k Miniature due to how important his death is to the setting of 40k, but at least his Chapter survives him with one of the oldest living Space Marines, Chapter Master Dante. his homeworld of Baal is still intact and is currently the homebase of the Main Blood Angels Chapter, but was recently devastated by Tyrannids, despite all Blood Angels Successor Chapters coming to help in it's defense, only surviving due to reinforcements brought by Roboute Guilliman and his Indomitus Crusade.
    2. Iron Hands - the Cyborg Marines of Ferrus Manus (his name is literally Iron Hands). Unfortunately I don't have much to say about the Legion as they really wear their gimmick on their robot sleeves, they replace their bodies with Cybernetics, and they believe the flesh is weak, but largely it's due to their Primarch, Ferrus, who reviled Weakness, and ironically never had any major cybernetic replacements like his Space Marines, why are they the Iron Hands then? you see, when Ferrus lived in his Homeworlds of Medusa, he slew a large beast made out of some sort of living metal that he had to drown in Magma. the Molten Metal from the beast grafted onto his arms, giving Ferrus his Iconic metal Arms, and so when he finally met his Legion, they were in Awe of his Strength (a strength great enough to battle against the emperor) and his adamantine Arms, and so they sought to emulate him by replacing their bodies with cybernetics. Sadly, Ferrus is dead, and by the hands of his closest brother Fulgrim, initially the two disliked each other, for Ferrus created practical things, while Fulgrim liked to create things that exuded beauty and perfection (coming from the culture of his world Chemos). but one day they would challenge each other on who could make a better weapon, with Ferrus creating a blade called Fireblade and Fulgrim creating a warhammer named Forgebreaker, they were so in awe of each other's creations that they granted each other the title of winner and gifted their creation to the other. eventually, when Fulgrim was corrupted and the Horus Heresy started, the two faced each other in war, and during the battle, Fulgrim slew Ferrus by cutting off his head, making Ferrus the first Primarch Casualty of the Horus Heresy. Ferrus' Homeworld of Medusa is still intact and is protected by the Iron Hands.
    3. The Lost Legion - yep another Lost Legion. I'll just put what I put on the last video for the 2nd Legion. No One knows much about this legion and the other lost legion, but it's theorized that they might have sided with Xenos or got corrupted/brainwashed by Xenos. both Lost Legions were removed from all records, apparently to honor their memory, because whatever they did or happened to them was so terrible and may have not been their fault. memories of them were deliberately removed from the other Primarchs minds by the Emperor and his right hand man, Malcador. additionally, Games Workshop likes to keep these mysterious and blank slates to allow players to make their own custom Legions.
    4. World Eaters - the Butchering Berserkers of Angron. First off, What Bricky meant by being better off is how Angron's original Primarch Power was the power to empathize with people, kind of like a support Primarch that could help people, like the Salamanders, but unfortunately, Aeldari forsaw something about Angron and attempted to assassinate him as a Primarch child on his Homeworld of Nuceria, this would leave him exhausted and vulnerable to being enslaved by the Nucerian peoples. and pretty much what Bricky Said: since he didn't want to fight as a gladiator for them, Butcher's nails were implanted on his brain. and like you guys talked about, he attempted to stage a rebellion, but unfortunately his rebellion was not powerful nor large, and instead of dying with the people who raised him in the slave pits of Nuceria and his friends, the Emperor saved him. Currently he's a Daemon Primarch, and he is actually about to get a miniature within the year, images and his stats are already out on the internet so he's one of the 4 primarchs that you can play right now (3 are daemon Primarchs so yeah.) and additionally Nuceria is now wiped clean after being obliterated by the Imperium to remove all traces of the world that created Angron to what he is now.
    5. Ultramarines - the Roman Poster Boys of Guilliman, They are the most Adaptable of the Space Marines, as their specialty amongst the other legions is their tactical flexibility, as well as their mastery of logistics and planning, which they straight up inherited from their father Guilliman. I'm not really sure why their the poster boys, but It may have to do with the old writer of Games Workshop who was so biased for the Ultramarines that the Ultramarines were pretty much just turned into the posterboys of the Setting. currently, they're most of the legion is feeling ultradepressed due to Guillimans return, feeling that they, the most exemplar of the space marines, have failed their Gene-Father, despite the fact that Guilliman doesn't really view them as failures. on top of that, before the Legions were split into Chapters of 1000 Marines, the Ultramarines by far was the largest of the Legions due to Guilliman's logistical skills that he was able to maintain large numbers up to 100,000 or higher Marines unlike the other Legions who were decimated down to only a few thousand which resulted into hundreds of Ultramarine Successor Chapters. Guilliman like Bricky said is the only playable Loyalist Primarch right now, but rumour has it that another one is about to be released, and additionally his Homeworld of Macragge, in the realm of Ultramar is pretty much still intact and that Region is generally one of the best places to live in the Imperium right now.
    6. Death Guard - The Plague Lords of Mortarion. again not really much to say here, Typhus, one of their high ranking Space Marines during the Great Crusade sold out the entire Legion to Nurgle and now their tougher, and cursed with diseases that they feel no pain from. It's actually Ironic that the entire legion and their primarch are now Warp-Touched considering that Mortarion was one of the biggest detractors of Psykers during the Great Crusade that the Emperor actually went back into the field, collected all his sons and held an entire council to talk about Psykers and whether or not the Space Marines should continue to use them. additionally, a big reason why Mortarion hated Psykers was how during his time in his homeworld of Barbaros, his megalomaniac psyker step father was tormenting the people of the planet. Mortarion would try to fight his step-father but unfortunately he was too weak and the Emperor instead stepped in and did the job for him, cementing a certain hatred for the Emperor due to having his chance to put his step-father to justice taken away from him. Currently he's playable and a Daemon Primarch, and Barbaros was destroyed by the Dark Angels during the Horus Heresy in the Lion's Attempt to try and force the Traitor Legion to pull back from the war.
    This Comment Got too Large, and I'll continue the other Legions on a reply to this Comment :D

    • @RaixsOreh
      @RaixsOreh ปีที่แล้ว

      7. Thousand Sons - the Sorcerers of Magnus the Red. Magnus was actually the first Primarch the Emperor was in contact with due to how powerful Magnus was as a Psyker, that the two would be able to converse even before finding each other. and as a Psyker, as a rule of thumb, the Emperor is the most powerful Psyker in the Imperium, with Magnus as the second most powerful. Originally, Magnus was supposed to sit on the Golden Throne as the Webway needed a powerful Psyker to keep open, but just as you guys discussed, Magnus accidentally broke the Webway trying to warn the Emperor of the Horus Heresy. but when this happened the Space Wolves weren't actually supposed to kill them, only to bring them back to the Emperor, but Horus, now a traitor, tricked Leman Russ into slaughtering the Thousand Sons instead. and about the curse they suffer, the Thousand Sons due to their power in the Psychic ways, would often recieve mutations due to the Warp, and so the Chief Librarian (Lead Psyker) of the Thousand Sons, Ahriman tried to cure the Legion of their Mutations, unfortunately resulting in the non-Psykers of the Legion turning into the Rubricae, Living Suits of Space Marine Armor with no Free Will, and during the Annihalation of his legion from the Space Wolves, desperate to save his Legions from being Massacred, He submitted himself to Tzeentch to save his Legion. Magnus is currently playable and is a Daemon Primarch, While Prospero is Magnus' current seat of power.
      8. Sons of Horus/Black Legion - The Dark Traitors of Horus/Abaddon the Despoiler. prior to the Horus Heresy, Abaddon was a high-ranking Space Marine in Horus' Legion, and the one who has taken the place of his failure father as the Leader of the Forces of Chaos. not much to talk about here as well, they're a wholly offensive Space Marine Legion, they were the core part of the Traitor Legions during the Horus Heresy, and now as the Black Legion, Abaddon leads them, as well as any other Chaos Space Marine that would join them, in Black Crusades, Wars that would attempt to break the Imperium and bring about the Rule of Abaddon the Despoiler. Originally, the Reason Horus Rebelled was not because he wanted the chaos gods to win against the emperor, but to replace the Emperor as Horus came to believe after being corrupted, that the Emperor was not worthy of Ruling the imperium anymore, and the Chaos Gods were only tools that he would use to bring about his reign, and in the same manner, Abaddon simply uses the Chaos Gods as tools to achieve Victory against the Imperium, He and Horus would not allow themselves to be manipulated by the dark gods, as they loved the imperium, but hated the Emperor with their corruption being a main reason for it. Well currently Horus is Dead, the Emperor killed him after being brutalized by the Arch-Traitor, and no one in the community believes Horus will ever come back simply due to the fact of how important his death is as well just like Sanguinius. and just like bricky showed, Cthonia has been reduced to dust by the Imperium after the Heresy.
      9. Word Bearers - the Worshippers of Lorgar, Largely agreed upon to be the source of all the Major issues in the current 40k setting, Particularly one of their Space Marines, The First Chaplain Erebus, who worshipped the Dark Gods of Chaos even before becoming a Space Marine, it was he who told Lorgar, the ever faithful servant of the Emperor who had recently just been chastised by the Emperor for his religious ways, that the Chaos Gods exist and that the God Emperor was unworthy of worship. and after Seducing Lorgar to the Worship of the Ruinous Powers, Erebus worked to corrupt the Word Bearers to serve Chaos. and Ultimately, it was Erebus who corrupted Horus by having him stabbed with a blade that made Horus Vulnerable to the corruption of the Dark Gods. Alongside The Sons of Horus and the Iron Warriors of Perturabo, these three Legions were the most instrumental in the success of the Horus Heresy. Currently Lorgar is a Daemon Primarch just like Mortarion, Magnus, and Angron, but currently in hiding as he is being hunted by a Raven-Beast within the Eye of Terror (a region in space where realspace and the warp co-exist), there is no word when he'll be getting a model, while their homeworld of Colchis has been destroyed by the Imperium.
      BTW the Orange guys are Genestealer Cults, humans infected by Tyrannids with Tyrannid DNA that believe Tyrannids are gods.
      Additionally, to answer your question, when a demon possesses you, depending on the strength of the person being possessed they're either in control, or the demon is.
      Also, if you view the setting from a certain point of view, there definitely are no gods in the setting of 40k, not even the Chaos gods or the Old Ones, or the Star Gods of the Necrons, or the Warp Gods that the Aeldari Worshipped, as the Chaos Gods and the Aeldari Gods are simply manifestations of the Warp created by the Psychic power of beings in the Real World. the Chaos Gods are simply that way because the Real world is evil, full of War, Excess, Disease, and Trickery. and so if you think about it, the Chaos Gods are trapped just like the servants they have enslaved to their will, even if the Chaos Gods wanted to do good, they couldn't as they're only manifestations created by the Real World.

      10. Salamanders - the Scorchers of Vulkan. The Irony of the most Humanitarian of the Space Marines, and yet they use flamethrowers and Melta Weapons to reduce their enemies to ash, not much to talk about her again, other than that just like how Vulkan is the Largest of the Primarchs in size and strength, his Space Marines, the Salamanders are by far the largest Standard Space Marines in the Imperium. Even though they're the nicest Space Marines, do not let that fool you, Vulkan cares for humans, but when it comes to Xenos, especially Dark Eldar, who used to raid his home world of Nocturne, he would be Happy to incinerate each and every Aeldari any day of the week. and funnily enough of all of the Primarchs that the Emperor had created, Vulkan was the only Perpetual of the 20. Perpetuals are Powerful Psykers that are immortal. The Emperor is a Perpetual, which is one of the reasons he's lasted so long after being mortally wounded by Horus. Vulkan has already died multiple times, especially during the Horus Heresy, but he's always come back. the last time any one has seen vulkan was during the War of the Beast, a war against one of the most powerful Ork Armies the Galaxy had seen, he did in combat against the Beast and has never been seen since. It is said that he would return when the Salamanders have reclaimed the nine artifacts tof Vulkan. so yeah, he isn't playable and has no miniature as of the moment, and his homeworld of Nocturne is still intact and serves as the main headquarters of the Salamanders.
      11. Raven Guard - the Stealthers of Corvus Corax. once again not much to say about the Raven Guard, they're just really sneaky Space Marines, and since you asked, on the table top, their stealthiness is translated into them becoming harder to hit, and attacks that hit them penetrate their armor less. The biggest win of the Raven Guard during the Horus Heresy is how after they were decimated by the traitor forces during the first battle of the Horus Heresy, their Primarch, Corvus, and the surviving Space Marines were still able to launch a successful Guerrilla war against the Traitors despite being outnumbered for most of the time. and due to his loyalty, the Emperor granted Corvus the key into the Gene-seed Vaults of the Imperial Palace so that he could bring the Raven Guard back to full Strength. unfortunately Corvus was impatient and tried to hasten the creation of new Raven Guard Space Marines, and this caused the new Raven Guard Marines to mutate into Raven Monsters. Ashamed of the terrible things he's caused due to his desparation, Corvus took a ship and left to hunt down the person who started the Horus Heresy and caused the decimation of his legion, Lorgar, into the Eye of Terror and he would return never more. Based on the lore right now, Corvus due to being mutated by the Eye of Terror's Warp energies, has become a sort of Half-Daemon, Half Primarch Raven Monster and has been hunting down Chaos Space Marines all over the Eye of Terror, but has unfortunately still not found Lorgar. his home world of Deliverance is currently the homebase of the Raven Guard, but even though he's clearly not dead in the lore, Corvus Corax doesn't have a miniature yet.
      12. Alpha Legion - The Saboteurs of Alpharius and Omegon. first, to Answer your Question: in their own words, Alpharius and Omegon feel like they're one soul with two bodies. not much is known about the Alpha Legion, that's their entire gimmick, they're so secretive that no one really knows what they're up to or what they're doing, either the information is a mystery that we have no information on, or we have information but it comes from multiple conflicting accounts, just like when Alpharius was found. one source claims that he was the last Primarch to be found by the Emperor, while another Source claims that he was actually the first and kept hidden, and that the one that was last to be found was actually Omegon but was introduced as Alpharius, as none of the other Primarchs actually know that they're twins. they're only aware that the Alpha Legion was lead by the Primarch Alpharius. and I don't know if you heard Bricky, but the Alpha Legion may not even be traitors. Some lore states that they're actually Loyalists that have purposely infiltrated the Traitor Space Marine Legions to sabotage their efforts, while some lore states that they are actually traitors, while other accounts say that they're both! but it is believed that whether or not they are traitors to the Imperium, they are ultimately loyal to the emperor, the biggest issue is that one of the twins believe that Chaos had to win the Horus Heresy so that they would burn themselves out after taking over thet galaxy, and the other believed that their goal wwas simply to keep sabotaging the traitors. But during the Horus Heresy, one of the Twins, supposedly the one named Alpharius died, but it could also have been Omegon pretending to be Alpharius, or it could have been neither of them. majority of the things we know about the Alpha Legion are not 100% cconfirmed, so no one actually knows who's alive, which twin is which, and what's their end goal, The Alpha Legion may not even know themselves.
      We're finally Done, excited to see your next vid!

    The part about the Night Lords v Death Guard is not too far fetched, even though they are both traitors. There are several occasions where, especially between Emperor's Children, Thousand Sons, World Eaters and Death Guard, a simple disagreement over who's to benefit from a claim, would turn into skirmishes or outright war. It might not last long, because there's typically a sorcerer or warlord or champion, who steps in and tells the fighting factions otherwise, but because they serve different ideals of chaos, they can be at odds with one another. Obviously not if an Imperial Guard or Loyalist Space Marine legion appeared, but you get the point.
    The Chaos Undivided legions, so Iron Warriors, Night Lords, Word Bearers, the Black Legion, and the Alpha Legion (maybe), are perhaps less inclined to disagree with the "direct" chaos legions or each other, but if they get different orders from their superiors, these orders can conflict.

    I can tell you a bit on the Alpha Legion primarch. To an extent cause alot of the lore on the legion is hearsay and whispers. When the Primarchs were taken by chaos and scattered it could have been possible the one primarch was split into twins. Or they could have always been twins from the start. Or it could just be one man named Alpharius Omegon who thinks he is two people. One of the twins could be dead. We don't know. Honestly thats what makes this legion so interesting. They could be good guys cause sometimes the attack and destablize Chaos factions. Before they turned traitor Alpharius said this, "Everything I do now, I do for the Emperor." Then they joined the heretics.

    Any flavor.
    Unless you take advantage of those new battle box things, deals are rare.
    eBay and those little random gacha ones that snap together will be your friend.
    $70 USD+ for armor vehicles, $35 USD per squad/1 Elite,
    *OR* go the cheap route
    30k is expensive af too

    Things were better before the Horus Heresy - and the events that lead to it. As a general rule some tech and gear and ideas were made then that are the best we've had in the 10,000 years since. Then again before the Age of Strife and the warp getting fucky Humans were more advanced, and democratic than in recent eras. And much of the tech is based on templates from more than 10000 years ago made by Super AI called STC's that have since all degraded or fallen to chaos. It's also not just one technical thing, it's sort of like saying tech developed based on the "Internet" - its been described a lot of different ways because its very complicated and malleable.

    What he means when he said The world eaters were once better than that is that they were originally called the war hounds and were generally a fairly ordinary chapter a little bit violent even for space marines on occasions but not entirely out of the ordinary either, Angron was the worst thing to happen to the legion what the emperor was doing letting Angron live let alone command an entire legion was one of the emperor's dumbest decisions Angron was clearly a broken man when the emperor found him, he's one of the primarch's who probably would have turned traitor regardless if horus had or not, on a side note makes you wonder what the 2nd and 11th did to be destroyed and all records deleted but angron to be fine

    People try to argue it because of quotes from other Primarchs but yes it is stated in lore by angron and Kharn that the Butcher’s Nails do actually increase strength and speed. It’s kind of argued but since they’re the ones who actually have the nails inside of them and have fought in battle before their nails were implanted and they state this before the full fall to khorne and their total corruption I do take their words as the best evidence

    I’m an ultramarines player the reason they are so liked is they are super competent, tactical and organized. It’s less they are they coolest, they are flexible. You can’t play every model in every army but with Ultramarines you mostly can. They aren’t specialized, they are versatile though.

      They're also one of the most powerful legions and the largest legion ignoring the Alpha Legion. Guilliman is also pretty badass considering he's made to be an administrator yet he has faced off against enemies that are supposed to be more powerful like him. Horus was also jealous of Guilliman.

    The whole point of the 2nd and 11th is for people who make custom Space Marine chapters that are not gene seed related to any of the already know Primarchs because when starting a space marine army your have to choose either to be one of the legions decedents and follow their own specific rules or make a custom chapter and use different rules that fit your own playstyle. if i remember correctly the 2nd legion are for the loyal custom chapters and the 11th is for Traitor custom chapters.

    You forgot the fact that Angron didn’t just wanna die with his people. It’s the fact the Emporer could’ve saved all his men but chose not to and decided not to tell Angron the butchers nails were killing him or even make a genuine attempt to remove the nails to save his mind which was possible as the thousands sons found a way later on and could’ve done it much earlier. So in short emps let his gladiator family die and left nails in his brain while telling him the his gladiator family didn’t matter.

    • @paimonisfood4986
      @paimonisfood4986 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the Emperor had one of the most intelligent tech priests to try and work on the butcher's nails but it couldn't be fixed. When the slavers shoved the nails it wasn't just like that. You see the nails don't normally slowly kill people they can be removed and humans can live even a full life without dying from it. However a Primarch is so above human so the slavers didn't know how to fit it in his brain since it wouldn't fit, so they made it fit and removed parts of his brain which is why he lost his Primarch special abilities in the first place. Angron was lost since the beginning and the Emperor couldn't do anything about it but I still say that him taking Angron away abruptly was just a matter of hurt pride because he refused him. Didn't really help too the fact that the planet Angron grew up in was already in the process of complying so wouldn't make sense for the Emperor to massacre an entire planet over a bunch of crazed gladiators that wouldn't be able to become Space Marines anyway so he just hoped that Angron would do his job well.

      @@paimonisfood4986 come on. If the thousand sons could figure it out. The emperor should’ve been able to. Also I think one planet is not really worth pisssing off a primarch. Because come ON. They blew up planets like it was nothing during the crusade. So if it’s to cement the loyalty of a primarch. I’d say it would’ve been worth it. I just think either Big E wanted him to rebel or is just that damn petty.

    • @paimonisfood4986
      @paimonisfood4986 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bobthejester3105 What? The Thousand Sons issue was them slowly turning into chaos spawn. The World Eaters were going insane of their own volition when they tried to replicate their Primarch. The Butcher's nails on Angron are none of these. He has parts of his brain removed which in turn removed his Primarch abilities and slowly killed him. In fact he died during the Horus Heresy when he was fighting Guilliman and Lorgar "saved" him by ascending him to daemonhood which removed all semblance of sanity within him and he's now a very angry bloodthirster of Khorne. His and his World Eaters have nothing in common with the Thousand Sons so idk why you keep comparing them.
