    I just bought a renegade enduro 900ace (no turbo) and I love it. Its quite and burns very little gas and should last many years without a rebuild. Too often are people talking about a rebuilt motor on a sled that's just 2 or 3 years old. Put a turbo on the 900ace and it must be ridiculously fast and hopefully the reliability is not sacrificed. Now I want to buy a SxS maverick with a 900ace turbo, that would be a really fun machine. BRP is on top of its game for sure and leading the industry on many fronts.

    Any idea how long the turbo would last on the skidoo? I find it hard to give up the 1200 for 15 hp but wont have a choice when I'm done with it and dont want to go down to an ace non turbo.

    I always enjoy Mark's commentary and perspective. Keep up the great work!
    I would like to offer a few corrections:
    1. Rotax "ACE " is an acronym for "Advanced Combustion Efficiency", not "Engine".
    2. The Sea-Doo Spark is NOT offered with the 600 ACE twin, but rather a "detuned" (de-mapped) 60 HP version of the 900 ACE triple cylinder, and a 90 HP version identified as the 900 HO ACE.

    Does Suzuki still make snowmobile engines for ArcticCat ?

    • @actZR900
      @actZR900 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. I know im late here but cat builds there own 2 strokes. And use Yamaha 4 strokes

  • @LouCFur90
    @LouCFur90 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pretty sure Yamaha has their genesis triple base in all powersport applications in one form or another. I would also go as far to say, they own the four stroke market. Hell, they even have their engines in other manufactures sleds. (arctic cat obviously) I appreciate what skidoo is doing just as much as the next guy, but we all know who rules the roost.

  • @yokieshine6266
    @yokieshine6266 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    These 4 stroke turbos are awsome, endless amounts of power and reliability. I have over 9000 miles on my 1100 turbo cat and it is indestructible. Unfortunately, the industry still treats a high mileage 4 stroke the same as a high mileage 2 stroke, financially. But if you plan to keep her long term and love speed and reliability, 4 stroke rules.

    Ski doo is ahead of ths curve. When emissions laws tighten,they will be ahesd of their competition. Time will show the wisdom of Ski Doo four stroke technology. 29 on the gallon with ever rising fuel prices is certsinly a positive for the trail rider and family who ones a fleet of sleds.

  • @michellatour150
    @michellatour150 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Instead of always 'bigger and faster', a reasonably priced no frills basic entry level sled, say equipped with a single cylinder 300cc ACE (25-30HP) in my opinion would be a great way to attract new people into the sport. What the previous generation Tundra were up to 2009.
    IMO Polaris is on the right track with their Indy 'Evo' model but a quieter and more efficient 4-stroke would be a better seller.

    • @oldwrench4213
      @oldwrench4213 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree. The lower end market is where you find your future customers. A 45 to 50 mph 300 single is a great way to get new people involved in the sport. Low cost, easy maintenance certainly will help in the allure of snowmobiling.

      High hp sleds don't sell well after the first year. Ski Doo doesn't want to repeat that.

    • @THEAVERAGEGAMER13
      @THEAVERAGEGAMER13 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Manna42 - in theory, more reliable more efficient cleaner smoother quieter dont have to fill the oil although you do have to change it and they deliver power a little different. But honestly it’s preference theyre both fast as stink but one will have one or two things an individual would like more than the other

    I spotted an inaccuracy in your video.
    60HP Sparks have the same 3 cylinder 900 ACE engine as the 90HP version. Literally the only difference is the ECU tune.
    I say this as someone who bought a 60HP Spark and had it upgraded to 90HP for $100.
    There are no Sparks with the 600 ACE. I don't even see a marine version of it on Rotax's site.

    900 HP? Seriously, edit. Cold side plumbing on this setup is the first thing I'd change. What is the displacement for the 900? Seems low on power, not impressed after 20 years of Yamaha 4-stroke dominance in this class of engines.
