She actually sang the chorus part of the song. The gimmick of this challenge is just to sing it in a rising key every time she finishes the chorus and see how far she can go :D
at first, Gigi pranked her band by proceeding to chorus immediately, then the band pranked Gigi by changing keys. :)

That is Tagalog, folks, the main language of the Philippines, fyi (no way close to Chinese or any Asian languages).
On her soinding different coz it’s in an Asian language - not sure about other asian languages, but Filipino in particular has very “full” and “round” or open mouthed vowel sounds

What happened here was that gigi was searching for lyrics but her band started and thats why she was not able to get the que of the bad. Since she only remembered the chorus thats why she started to sing the chorus and then her band decided to mess with her by keeping the key higher and higher- according to gigi 😊

Hahahaha. This is a paid request by the band's online viewers/subscribers as part of the bands gig/job. They challenged Gigi how far could she go with the modulation of the Chorus/Refrain only of the said song. So they do it as art of their job while having fun.
