EXACTLY, it was done for fun sticking it out on the chrus part and being sung on a higher key way higher than the original version each time. The original version was popularized by Roselle Nava. BAKIT NGA BA MAHAL KITA is the title.
at first, Gigi pranked her band by proceeding to chorus immediately, then the band pranked Gigi by changing keys. :)
She is actually game enough to risk cracking her voice just to entertain the audience and in one of her interviews she was ready to humiliate herself just to do that for fun. It just proves she's so secure of herself and her singing that she really doesnt care about what happens.

Since she only remembered the chorus thats why she started to sing the chorus and then her band decided to mess with her by keeping the key higher and higher- according to gigi 😊

I could tell you are a very experienced singer/coach. Not too many musicians know who Eva Cassidy is. Years ago Ted Koppel, the host of ABC Nightline, did a whole episode dedicated to the memory of Eva Cassidy.
