Spectacular build! Congrats on the cover! The bike looks amazing and holy cow Mark can fly! Super fun to watch, great camera work. Those trails by the freeway also looked awesome. Way to go man! 👍✌️
Yet another sweet build. So pumped to see you grow and be featured on various companies websites and magazines. A true testament to perseverance and persistence! Great job
Yamaha engineers didn't put any thought into the 250x transmission. They literally just pulled existing parts off the shelf from the wr400/ 426 and threw them in. 3-5 are identical parts between the 250x and 426. Guys were doing this mod many years before the 250x was ever released. You can actually fit the entire wr426 trans is you wanted the lower 1st and 2nd
The reason 3rd gear is shorter is because 3rd, 4th and 5th are from the WR400/426 gearbox. Yamaha didn't engineer anything, they just cut and pasted the two boxes together. It's not possible to keep the YZ 3rd and run it with the WR 4th and 5th because the YZ 3rd has three dogs for meshing with 5th. The WR 3rd and 5th have four dog system. The proper way to make this bike an enduro is to put the full WR400/425 gear box in. The WR gearbox is alot more even between all gears and it is amazing offroad! Rado my advice is to pull the engine down and put the WR 1st and 2nd in. It's totally worth it man!!
I have a blown up yz250 2005 I’m going to be using your videos to rebuild going to be a lot of fun from the looks of it thank you so much! Awesome content
Now you need to get with Panthera and bolt on a E start to make it a complete build and would be awesome to do a how to video on the installation and follow up videos
Awesome bike, love the Yamaha yz250, best platform for off road riding. Great rider, now that particular bike is not built for his style of riding, that makes it hard for him to compare. Great built, hope one day I can have one like that 👍 ✌
2021 yz450fx or yz250x , got my 6th yz450f up for sale which is 2017 and I absolutely love the power it has and it's handling is excellent and I haven't had a 2 smoke since my 02 cr250 and I'm 41 now and I've got the 2 stroke itch , 99% of my riding is bush/enduro I'm thinking that the yz450fx will be the better choice , electric start and a 7 1/2 ltr tank .... 😱what to do 🇦🇺🤙
@@dirtniron you know what bloke, was thinking the same thing, might be in the dog house for a few weeks but it'll be worth it , she can build a bridge and get over it 🇦🇺🤙
Looks great but Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to buy a 2016 250x because i know building a bike isnt cheap especially sending of parts but when you come to sell it and people watch this and the dudes saying its really close to the x model there just going to buy the x
@@KB3AOL I talk to this dude all the time and been watching the channel for a few years and every bike his done a build on his sold yes he rides it but at that point it’s going to get scratched up beaten etc so when it comes to selling it he gets a lot less here in the uk you rarely even find a x model and when you do there £4k for a 2016 there’s a ton more in America and there cheaper I know he paid cheap for the bike but his brought a whole new engine send it of to get ported + crank piston seals bearings bolts Plato a graphics all bearings and seals for the bike wheels tires kickstand exhaust protecting items seat cover bars sent the suspension of etc at just a couple of those things his already spent more then buying a x model in really good condition if your buyers know you well then they would know what you have done to the bike but when you have people saying oh it seems pretty close to the x model and he wants 6k hypothetically when you can buy a low hour x model for 4k which are you going to buy because I know I would go with the x model by saving 2k for maintenance or travel or buy some parts because it’s not like your just riding it very smooth all the time you flipping the bike down 20ft drops your dropping the bike constantly so it really doesn’t matter what condition it is in by looking at it
good discussion guys, its true that this isnt the most economical way to get a good bike, definitely not for an average rider, it makes sense for a youtube/magazine build. Lots of custom work, some of it very important some less important and some optional..
Rado, You and Mark Tilley looks pretty serious about twisting the throttle. I'd like to throw a leg over the Yam if you could scare up a set of training wheels for me! Haha! You probably think I'm kidding. Keep the Faith, my Brother. P.S. You did a hell of a job on the bike.....Tom
I have a 2017 YZ250X with a SmartCarb and a Scotts stabilizer. STUPID amounts of fun to ride BRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!

Cody, my vote is that he should pull the engine down and put the full WR trans in.
Yes!!!!
Amazing build, that´s for sure.
Congrats Rado.

Cool bike and looks like a fun build. The 250x is only $7500 new - don't spend too much.
haha, thats right! thanks Bogus!
Great 👍 i love it where was the smart carb ?
half of the riding is with smartcarb and half with the stock Keihin & JD, we did a lot of testing. Comparison video coming out soon
Nice 👌
can you do a video on wiring a dirt bike
I just install the wire harness, its usually very simple.. the only thing is to follow proper cable routing

Hey man I'm building something very similar and I've got a few questions if you could give me a way to contact you
