Like a lot of people on this post, I was not aware that Collins had ever indulged in anything like this, I cannot abide his work with Genesis after 77, but as a drummer in the Gabriel era he was superb - kudos to him for participating. He has risen in my expectations.
Phil was born with incredible talent and an amazing voice. Been with him since 1973 ..... was fed "Going Back" the other day, a Carole King cover. Nobody but Phil could do it like that. Only negative thing I can say about him...... MISUNDERSTANDING
Phil was a brilliant drummer, one of my favourite in fact, I remember the early days when they got started around Guildford when you could see them at the College or the University for about a £1, Phil used to a do backing vocals for Peter. He had a boom mic and after he finished singing he would swing the mic out of the way and get down to business on the drum kit, and what a drummer he was.

I can see it is hard for Phil playing those old songs again. They are quite complicated to say the least. Phil said already in 1987 that he couldn't play like he did in the 70's. That may have to do with not playing that music regulary though.

The singer in _Can Utility And the Coastliners_ could well be cast as a psycho killer in a thriller movie, but the voice similarity is indisputable.
