That is fine. I’m 14 and I’m overweight. At first I had the same mindset as u but I overcame it quite quickly as I’ve been wanting to learn Taekwondo for years alr. You’ll soon see that weight doesn’t matter. It’s more of how u behave and act as a person. U will be better than the skinny ones if u listen carefully and try ur best.

I also wanted to join MMA but it is actually very dangerous cuz there isn’t any guard things to protect ur body esp ur head. If u get hit in the head....u brain gonna be damaged. That’s why I decided to join Taekwondo instead since it’s more about kicks(which is what I wanna learn) and there’s protectors/guards. But since u like MMA more and u sound like someone who is very passionate about it, I’d say u go ahead and do MMA or UFC

I love taekwondo. I’m a red belt testing brown in a week. Was having a lot of trouble perfecting this kick. Thanks so much. Very important tips. Waiting for your body to turn fully before following thru. I’ll finally look like a black belt candidate. Looking forward to seeing your other kick lesson to make sure I’m the best I can be. Thanks for sharing. You’re a really great teacher.

unlike in other tornado kick tutorials wherein you have to take a step forward facing the other way and as you bring the other leg spinning making a jump then the kick. your tutorial is fast not detectable cant be anticipated due to the twisting and not the too obvious chambering prior to the kick. that's what makes it fast and undetectable.

It’s a disguise technique. If you throw a lot of spinning techniques such as the spinning back kick or wheel kick, you can surprise your opponent with the tornado kick. Combat sports is 90% mental game.

hi master woo, im not a taekwondo practitioner but I tried this kick to an intruder and to my surprise the last thing I saw is that hes down holding his right rib cage and grimacing in pain then he ran away. my kick wasn't that high so I got him in his mid section and hit the target, this kick is not only gracefull and beautifull but also effective. this is my favorite kick. thanks for your tutorial master woo.

@henrik salte I am a second degree black belt and have been practicing Tae Kwon Do for 10 years. I just wanted to say that the tornado kick is not ineffective if you know how to do it. It takes a lot of practice to make this kick work. Many fights have ended with a tornado kick to the face. The tornado kick is basically a stronger version of the round kick. The spin and the jump adds extra power. In the TKD school that I go to and teach at, we wait and learn the tornado kick around red belt level. By then, they should know how to do round kicks properly with much power. Adding the "tornado" part should be fairly easy for them by then.

@@loveisrag3 useless.. do the simple push doll yeok in the face. Once your opponent falls. just run. Why run? Cause TKD technique wont work if your opponent know you're TKD practician and the counter of your skill just get close to you and punch you hard.... the answer is just run....

If youre sparring in taekwondo it is hard to land a hit on your opponent with the tornado kick as your opponent is expecting and waiting a kick out of you already is ready to move. But in day to day basis if someone picks on you, they might expect a punch and less of a kick so started it off with a tornado kick could be effective

When i started i was 270 pounds (Answer for the people that are saying they are too fat for that ) . I Dropped 75 pounds and still dropping i'm 195 right now :) . It sounds cheesy but as long as you really want it you can do it :)

@MrEran1996 There is a place for both the inside crescent kick (which I think is what you're suggesting) and the roundhouse with this technique. The crescent is easier for most people to get high, but the roundhouse will have more power. And, generally, if you're doing kicks of this sort, height of the kick should no longer be a problem for you.

If I use this kick in sparring I like to use it right after a back kick where i dont put my foot down but instead transition straight into this kick.

Im 2nd gup too. Start with your right leg back (sparring stance) slowly turn like you are going to do a turning back kick. Stop. Lift up Left knee when you are facing away from your target while turning, when your knee is facing with your target, release the leg to kick, don't forget to jump. Take your time, do it slow and ask your classmates for help.
