Hey Van Roon, it's been 2 years since this upload. I started taekwondo in November 2021 and I am currently a full yellow belt. Your videos are helping my perfection of techniques and I'm sad that you've stopped making these gems of videos.
Why unlike to this full documentary explanation...? This generous man has master degree in sport science as well...! Should be respected...!! Congratulations from Srilanka 🇱🇰. Be safe be healthy and be happy sifu Van Roon...!!!
Brilliantly explained. I hadn't heard before cutting directly underneath, almost like one is faking a back kick. Thank you for also explaining the front foot - the stable leg holding you up (so many people seem to completely ignore that and only focus on the leg that's moving). Maybe a 4th option would be for breaking / power, when one might want to spin their bent leg a bit more around to generate more mass + momentum. Thanks again!
This is one of my favorite techniques. Before the quarantine, I began to carry it out correctly, quickly and with power, without losing my balance. But at home I don't have much space and I wasn't practicing it either, so I lose my balance. This video is very useful to me, I really appreciate your advices. Thank you for your effort!
As if this was your last video mate, 6 months ago. You've got some really good content here. Keep going. Even as more of a Dutch Kickboxer I've learned quite a few alterations to my techniques from your channel I wouldn't have previously thought of.
Awesome kick sir, Been looking for a tutorial with step by step and yours is great!! As a Taekwondo blackbelt with aspergers I sometimes need to over study a technique so i can perfect it and this was the best explanation I’ve seen Thank You so much!!!
Another really good video. Your ability to explain in detail the mechanics of a technique, whilst keeping it easy to understand is the best on TH-cam. 👍
My god!!!! What a powerful kick you did!!!! I really love it!!!! I'm very impressed!!!! I wish to do that kick... Woooow!!!! I'm watching over and over and over again that kick... 😳😳😳😳😳👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🥋🥋🥋
Good skill. This kick is called dolgaechagi in korean. Don't use the word "Naraebang" in South Korea. Maybe use in north. I appreciate your passion and love of tkd.
Fun fact... Tatsumaki geri is one of Ryu and Ken´s signature moves in street fighter... also, I learned the tornado kick as Dolgae chagi... never heard it call ¨naraban¨ chagi.
Thank you for this video! One of the best explanations I've seen from an incredibly technical fighter. I have a request for you. I can take a small fragment of your video with this kick for my video for the Russian analytical channel. How to do a proper tornado?
My right is my dominant leg, the only spinning kicks I can do on my left is the Turning Hook and Turning Wheel Kick. I'll try applying your method so that I can do the Tornado Kick with my left leg. Thanks for uploading Sensei. Stay Healthy. Osu!! ♥️🇵🇭
I`m right handed, but I do the same. I prefer southpaw stance, kicking all types of kicks both with my right and left leg. It`s not so hard, as looking from a first glance. Good luck in training!
@@andrejlykov6408 Thank you. I used to train religioisly when I still had better vision in my left eye, My right eye's had no vision since birth. But since my retina partially collapsed, I had to stop for almost 2 years. *sigh* I used to be able to throw 3000 kicks a day on each leg, and was able to do 50 'bullet kicks' no problem. Well that's life I suppose. Anyways... Thanks for the encouragement, my friend. Good luck training to you as well. *OSU!!* 🇵🇭
Thank you sir. I learned a lot. But can you do some tutorials on hammer kick in a practical combating. Like how it works during the sparring or about executing the kick for best outcome. 😉😊
Great video!! Thank you. My challenge sometimes is the end of the kick, controlling the landing leg so I am not hurting the knee. Would love some tips on developing this a bit more🙏🏻
Sensei, thank you for the tips in tornado kick,I watched your other videos..But How did you get so flexible?do you mind making a video showing tips and exercises on how to be more flexible to how to have high kicks like yours..can't wait to watch it.
Very good tutorial, thanks a lot. Especially the pulling back part is cool! I know it is not very important, but I think I know the Japanese fighter, but I am not really sure. I used to train under him for 2 years in Kyoto (if it is the same guy) and it kinda bothers me that I can't tell for sure from this video. Is there a full video of this fight?
Hi Van Roon :) I have an idea: do you think would it be possible to make a playlist of your videos where one can start right from the beginning - for example, warm up, body fitness, the first and simplest kicks, and the right way to execute them, and then the sparring techniques, and then the right way to stretch - because for someone who is at the beginning in TKD is hard to search for the right videos on your channel. Thank you.
Hello Roon i want to learn entire tkd online from white to black belt level,i dont need any belt or certificate. And i am looking for low cost and one time payment .Is there any such program on the internet? Thank you
Hi Carl I just wanted to say I really appreciate the tutorials you have on youtube ...... I am 43 years old and I am learning karate at this age with my son who is 7 .... we also both practice BJJ .... I see that you have a lot of experience as a stricker do you also practice BJJ? And what is your opinion that BJJ is the most effective martial art ... I think it is very good but for example but I would not have a chance against a bjj black belt as I could not beat a karate black belt or taekwon-do ... but now the narrative is that it is the only one that works is bjj...

Thank you Mr Horton! Appreciate your comment! Yes, totally agree with you on the mass / momentum side of things 🙏😁
Thank you Mr. Roon, Sir, Master.
My pleasure!!

한국인으로서 그리고 격투기 팬으로써 매우 존경합니다.
Sweet jesus! That k.o in that small clip was brutal!

Great explanation, however you could ad a last part where you explain how to counter this kick or times where using this kick is not worthy.
Nice one! Good point for the next video!!
really well done here, I honoured you by using your example in my class today, was very well received,
well done. /respect.
Another really good video. Your ability to explain in detail the mechanics of a technique, whilst keeping it easy to understand is the best on TH-cam. 👍
Thank you so much! I appreciate you saying that
Thorough explanation of the technique, as always - but to see it as a full contact knockout is great.
Amazing kick and explanation as always sir!
Thank you for tuning in!
You make it look so easy so hard to get the jump and spin right and not lose balance
Enjoyed the video, but way to advanced for this yellow belt! ✊🥋
You'll be a blackbelt soon my friend 👍
Wow, we practiced it yesterday during Kickboxing, you are explaining in a great way so I will be able to practice during holidays :)
Great explanation, my kicks are better now. I have subscribed to your channel.
Great to hear! Keep it up!!

Put the training in my friend and you'll have it in no time!
Best instructions, maybe the best ever ❤️👍
May you show us how to do that step forward reverse spinning jump back kick?
Good skill. This kick is called dolgaechagi in korean. Don't use the word "Naraebang" in South Korea. Maybe use in north. I appreciate your passion and love of tkd.
Thank you! I've added 돌개차기 to the title!

Could you do a tutorial on 540 hook kick? Regards from Argentina
Ah,, the tatsumaki. My fav
Tatsumaki senpuu kyaku geri!!! 😂
Street Fighter lol!
Are you going to try to watch Taekwondo in the Olympics
Have you heard of Taido, kuntao, Kudo, Chun Kuk do, Hema
Muito bom.
Obrigado!
They use this kick in street fighter assassin's fist (Tatsumaki)
Why in TKD they don’t use head gear with face shield to prevent possible injury to the eyes or nose, also why not wear knee and elbow pads
Olympic TKD uses headgear.
Knees and elbows are not allowed in TKD competition, so protection is not required there.
Would it be ok to use ankle and wrist weights when doing a TKD class or could that possibly hurt your joints
Pliss make a video for endurance
Minimum effort maximum effect
I heard Taekwondo is a mix of Taekkyon and karate
Yes, Taekwon-Do was influenced by General Choi's backgrounds in Taekkyon and Shotokan Karate (which he learned in the military).
How could a shorter person succeed against a taller opponent in sparring, tournaments, or self defense street fight
I like how you move after ko him 😑❤
Wow
Why do you think some people quit martial arts after getting a black belt
I see you on Instagram ❤🌹
Thanks for following!
