This video is great. I would’ve loved to hear your voice a little bit more, it was hard to hear you at first, but you don’t talk too much in the video so it all worked out. Thank you for demonstrating and posting!
@@mjtfield yeah my earlier videos I still didn’t have sound worked out too well, my more recent videos should be better, I’ll get back to you on your other questions! Thanks for watching !
Don’t push so hard on them when turning, they are essentially clips that can be pressed in without turning during installation. You can probably pry them out by that logic as well, I have personally not tried that but you can, maybe a combination of prying and turning may be required
@@dariusGarageoh - if you know, would you please share the specific model/size of replacement screws I can buy? I don’t want to get the wrong kind and I’m not a gearhead (yet).
@@mjtfield Sounds like you got the typical BMW maintenance experience! (Especially when you’re doing it the first time) You gotta break something to fix something. Sucks but at least they’re replaceable, here’s a link for you www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/expanding-rivet/07149193301/
Usually if it’s flickering you have to replace it. Particularly if it’s LED and not a regular bulb. Either the connection inside has come loose from the vibrations of the trunk slamming, or some moisture got the best of it. Before you replace your tail light make sure that there are no leaks that will damage your new one!
There’s a few different screws bits that you’ll need for the job. For the fabric panel you will need a Phillips for the plastic expansion clips, you’ll also need a T20 for 2 screws. For the light itself I mention that I used a T20 at 3:12
@@ruelbautista9966 there’s a replaceable bulb for 2 stage brake lamp or fog light if I recall correctly, but if the light strips are flickering you’ll need to replace the entire light
But they are so beautiful though it’s like the baddest looking car I’ve owned and I’m 63 so I have seen and owned beautiful cars not all my life but enough cars to say nothing like the 650 i grand coupe
I own this exact model and every time I watch one of these videos it confirms that nothing is simple to fix in these cars
