    I bought a SF7000 to replace a 600w HPS. I'm so far impressed at week 4 of flower. In my 4x8 tent I'm using 1 x 600w hps and 1 x sf7000. The plants under the SF7000 are easily double the size then the ones more exposed to the 600w hps.

      Higher photon efficiency flux means faster growth

      @Asian Beast for what the 2 x 600w or the sf7000? The 2 x 600w was about $80 a month extra and the sf7000 is about $40 a month. I did my first harvest and my buds were way thicker then any of my 2 x 600w grows. I'm gonna get a 2nd sf7000.

      @Asian Beast no its not $300 a month thats a lie. Prob max id say 40$ a month. Yes once in flower i had it at 100% 12/12 for 2 months. It was way cheaper then 1 x 600w hps. If you have it at 100% make sure you have the light like 22inches above the plants.

      @Asian Beast i haven't seen light burn. Keep in mind each strain is different and have its difference tolerance to light burn. With this light i had some really nice purple hues in it.

    I have SF7000. I’m running it in 4x4 at 70% driver mounted outside tent. If I go any higher on the dimmer the heat goes way up. Tent canopy 85 degrees but dimmer at 80% probably 95 degrees too hot!
    Recently I did put ropes along sides (through hooks) this allows me to attach the light much closer to the top of the tent. I do love this light & capabilities but not running c02 and no AC in the tent so I’m running it at my max settings.
    LOVE THE VIDEO! Thanks for the upload!

      If you want to use the plant grow light for a long time, it is recommended that you change to a led grow light. They will not have the problem of excessive heat and are more energy-efficient.

    I'm a little confused; you say that it's not enough for a 5x5, but for a 4x4 you would dial it down to 80%. I won't be dialing it down; I want all the light I can get, so what would be your recommendation for tent size?

    Could you put this in a 32"x32"x64" tent? I know it will fit and will be over kill but could I still use it just not at full power? I'm wanting to get an over powered light for when I get a bigger tent I won't have to upgrade the light again... what would you recommend for light intensity leave it around 60%?

    • @MrMindAce
      @MrMindAce 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got the opposite problem going from a 5x5 and sf 7000 to a 3x3 with the SF7000 so i dont need another light. I would use a lux metre to measure the lux roughly needed for the plants. And what power percentage because it would be over kill

    I think it's not talked about enough that higher hanging height gives much more light to lower parts of the canopy (though with higher power requirement). I know that most array/bar type lights lose their intensity closer to 1/r (an infinite line source) than 1/r² (a point source).
    But still, if estimated that the intensity drop is 1/1,2r (-17% from 1/r and +67% from 1/r²) this means:
    10" hanging height,
    Max. PPFD 1000 μMol/m²/s,
    Distance to lower canopy +12" = 22"
    This gives 380 μMol/m²/s to lower canopy.
    28" hanging height,
    Max. PPFD 1000 μMol/m²/s,
    Distance to lower canopy +12" = 40"
    This gives 580 μMol/m²/s to lower canopy.
    So in theory it seems with higher hanging height (needs more power as well) you don't only get more even spread on horizontal plane but also more even intensity on vertical axis.

    • @tkermi
      @tkermi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, and this should also help to protect against burning the top of the canopy. If you forget to raise the lights and plants stretch 2" here are the results based on the same calculations than earlier:
      10" hanging height,
      Max. PPFD 1000 μMol/m²/s,
      New distance to canopy -2" = 8"
      This gives 1500 μMol/m²/s to the top of the canopy.
      28" hanging height,
      Max. PPFD 1000 μMol/m²/s,
      New distance to canopy -2" = 26"
      This gives 1300 μMol/m²/s to the top of the canopy.

      I personally think that what really affects plant growth is the effective photon, AKA µmol/J.

    • @tkermi
      @tkermi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hishinegrouplimited8020 Hmm 🤔, not quite. You can have a very high µmol/J light but if:
      the total output, PPF (µmol/s)
      or
      the output density PPFD (µmol/s/m2)
      or
      the spread
      isn't sufficient the results will be bad.
      Only thing that the µmol/J (PPE) tells is the light's photosynthetic photon efficacy.

    • @hishinegrouplimited8020
      @hishinegrouplimited8020 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tkermi Yes, both PPE and PPF are important parameters for evaluating a led grow light.

    Why so much blue in the spectrum ? I'm being curious...

    • @hishinegrouplimited8020
      @hishinegrouplimited8020 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The blue spectrum can help plants grow very solid roots and leaves, but if the plants are in the flowering period, they need a red spectrum, so now most of the LED grow light supports full-spectrum lights, if you are interested, you can see Look at our products.
