    How effective is a soft hyperbaric chamber in the treatment of Parkinson’s? Would using a hard chamber be better? It’s difficult to find a place offering treatment using a hard hyperbaric chamber where we live. Just wondering if we’re wasting time and money using a soft chamber. Thank you so much for your videos. They have been very helpful.

      Parkinson's disease is on the list of "off-label" indications for HBOT. There is scientific evidence that HBOT, when used as an adjunctive therapy, helps slow down progression of Parkinson's. In terms of the chamber, I would look into it in terms of pressure. For a neurodegenerative disease mild pressures ( below 2ATA) are used. 1.3 ATA in a soft chamber falls into this range. Whether or not 1.3 ATA is an optimal pressure, it is determined by carefully examining the whole health situation of the patient. Frequency and number of sessions in the case of neurodegenerative disease like Parkinson's is very important as well. For more questions please send me an email info@drmasha.com

    Just love your podcast... I'm just a little frightened to dive so I'm just having the Oxygen without pressure! Is the actually doing anything at all?

      Hi. oxygen without pressure has benefits, however when we add pressure we get A LOT more oxygen to our cells, since with pressure we are increasing both oxygen and its transport. Being afraid to dive is quite normal. My suggestion, find a clinic/practitioner who will "walk" you though the process, explain everything, etc. Usually by session #3 anxiety will dissipate and you will feel really comfortable.

    I purchased a soft chamber and it goes to 1.5 ATA. I have one hour each morning after 20 minutes full body red/infra red therapy. I am 76 with no medical conditions. I am surprised I have been able to tolerate 1 hour session at 1.5ATA every morning without stopping today is day 17. It feels blissful at times. I know I am on the road to improved healthspan and life span---maybe I am cheating I also use about 1 hour browns gas/hydrogen breathing each day and PEMF, they all work well together, no intolerance or overstimulation

      @@hyperbaric now on day 51...also added some solar therapy to the IR light sessions, managed to find full spectrum sunlight like 300 watt bulbs it gives UVA AND uvb and was used for sun tanning back in the 1960-70's have not been able to find anything modern so far,(all UV tubes only) so fixeed 2 of these on a stand they also give out a lot of far infra red that means I get lovely and hot just like in the sun, it seems to be having significant effect over and above everything else so full spectrum sunlight + IR is the way forward !!

    Can you make a video regarding the best types of Oxygen Masks to wear in the chamber? I use a soft hyperbaric chamber and i use a non rebreather

    Hi Dr Marsha, whay use 1.3 ATA generally for new patients my feeling is to use 1.5 ATA generally with oxygen generator, unless the person is very sensitive/poor anti-oxidant status- what are your thoughts on that ?

    • @hyperbaric
      @hyperbaric  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! I generally start with 1.3ATA. And then depending on a person’s health goals, other therapies that might be using concurrently, frequency pf the sessions and health conditions, I might go higher in pressure. But not always and not for everyone. I guess, key is individual approach

      @@hyperbaricoxygen getting dissolved in to blood plasma

    • @hyperbaric
      @hyperbaric  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@liamc7097 Oxygen dissolves in liquid under pressure. At sea level some portion of oxygen is dissolved in plasma (although a small portion, but still) because of atmospheric pressure. When pressure is increased, more oxygen gets dissolved in plasma. The amount of oxygen that gets dissolved in plasma depends on the amount of pressure. So this effect can be reached in all types of chambers but to a different degree. It depends on the amount of pressure. Hope this helps

      It's Lyme. Go to pressure and come back up. Once you can do that, add another minute. Once you can tolerate that add another minute.

    Hi! Soft chamber @ 1.5 atm, O2 mask, 20 sessions of 60mins each…I definitely have more endurance. HOWEVER, I think I am getting a too much parasympathetic activity (I have some autonomic issues - like I tend to get tachy easy when stressed or under exercise). While I can go longer on the treadmill and my heart rate stays reasonable, it’s kind of low the rest of the time. Eg will be in the 50’s or 60’s hanging around, which makes it tough to get motivated. Have you seen this b4?
