I would have went with a 63.5 add on. New compressor housing & wheel. Rebuild kit Cleaned the VGT plunger cartridge. Got the tunes from blessed...with the SOTF using cruise control.
Smedging also required PCM tuning. If you plan on towing regularly smedging was probably not the best choice. Those are more for competition and drag pulls. I pull regularly. I would stay with the vgt. You are quite off. Eco tune 20hp, atlas 40 tow tune. Street tune around 100 give or take. Eco beast is 190 up.
Well your a bigger turbo and non vgt with no added fuel so it’s gonna be laggier. Also I would not run blessed performance custom tuning we put there tuning on my uncles 6.0 with his upgrades and his transmission hasn’t been shifting worth a damn and he did a fluid flush on it and it had crazy amounts of clutch material in it. I would find someone else.
The Tow Boss says 30-50 hp, the Ecobeast street says 90-130hp and the Blessed Extreme Performance says 140-190hp. The EcoBeast tune is the one I was referring to when I said eco tune.
lil bro discovered turbo lag. you need fuel down low. it generally wont ever be as powerful down low with nonvgt. unless you put some really big sticks in to overcompensate. it should definatly be fine going on a hill down the highway though. drive it with tow haul mode. dont be afraid of RPM. higher RPM = more power.
😅lol I like your honesty about not using the material from your cylinder head job.I hope you can trust your own work though lol.On a serious note, I would want to know WHY the turbo failed
What are you running for fuel? Thinking of throwing a smeding drop-in into my 6.0 but I’ve heard from several diesel performance shops around me to spend the money on a T4 S400 kit due to the smeding drop in turbos blowing. Update on how it holds up
I’ve never heard of that, oil will be running through the turbo in a few seconds after starting the truck. But maybe you’re right I’ve just never heard of that.
I’m not a non-vgt turbo fan, especially if you plan on continuing to work and tow with the truck and I’m especially not a fan smedding turbos. I just discovered the channel but I hope yall put some more research into your larger purchases for this truck or your problems will just keep coming.
How does one not have sct tuning in 2024 on their 6.0 😂 like cmon thats step one with a 6.0
You gotta get in it and not shy away from higher rpm brother.
A kc turbo would probably have been a good option
If that turbo doesn't end up working out, go with a KC vgt. They're amazing turbos.
Borg warner S369SXE...........
@@justnsaliga8518 that’s non vgt…
He doesn’t want to swap to a non vgt……..
@@jamesryplewski2860 the smeding he swapped in IS non-vgt 😂
So damn easy to get those out my lb7 will take me all day to get it out

These are the tunes they gave me “Tow Boss, EcoBeast Street, Blessed Xtreme Performance.”

The old oil feed tube probably had something to do with the possible turbo failure the flex hose part breaks down and causes issues

Non VGT is always goung to be laggy. Especially with no tuning. You won’t get around it not being laggy with a non vgt.
I have the same truck but mine is the biggest one and I have more power then I had

So I took the old turbo apart and the unison ring was seized to the turbo housing

I’m running stock injectors and I don’t know about longevity cause I’ve only had it for a month

Not pre oiling the turbo is a great way to ruin your new turbo!
I’ve never heard of that, oil will be running through the turbo in a few seconds after starting the truck. But maybe you’re right I’ve just never heard of that.
@@plastic_strider8156definitely pre oil your turbo
But that means it will be dry for a few seconds
The only reason I wanted the non vgt is because I got sick of the the vanes sticking in the vgt turbo
If the turbo is fairly new you shouldn’t have problems might have been a wiring issue
