The problem is we have an 11 personnel OC trying to run an offense with a 12 personnel roster. Once we go down he gets into this tunnel vision thing where he gets away from what this team is built to be.
Well, Harbs still factors in the decision-making when it comes to offensive plays. Since the JK Dobbins controversy a while back, he knows that the Ravens needed a solid running game, yet Henry got zero production in the second half from both Harbs and Monken. Harbs always goes to his stupid analytic bible while Mike Tomlin plays 4D chess against him.
this is simply not true. was the playcalling perfect? no but this team beat themselves with stupid penalties, turnovers and missed FGs. we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot because this team lacks discipline.
There are problems with play calling, and personnel usage, but I don't think it's because Monken doesn't know how to call plays for the personnel that we have. There is an element of impatience, in our offense, we fall in love with explosive passes and get off schedule, and then get even more desperate to hit a big play.
like the idea that our OC is the problem is utter insanity. up until yesterday we have been the top offense all year by most metrics and quite literally the #2 offense ALL TIME by DVOA. this isn't a Monken issue. it's a lack of discipline.
@@hamsandwich123 Nobody is saying that the offense can't be or hasn't been great. What I(and others) are observing is that Monken has not really figured out how to merge the strengths of the best QB in the league and the best RB in the league. We almost have two distinct offense, when Henry is out there we play more 12 21 or 22 personnel ,run and pass effectively. If we get down 10 points, we take Henry off of the field and aren't nearly as effective running the ball(with the rb running game). I'm not saying it happens every game, or that it results in a loss every time it happens, but it gives teams a chance to stop our offense when they really shouldn't be able to. Our 12 personnel with Henry in the backfield is a personnel group that defenses have to over commit to stop, but our two tightends are Likely and a healthy(finally) Mark Andrews there is no way that those guys can't get open on playaction against teams that are selling out to stopping the run. Instead we have been replacing Henry with Justice Hill, who defenses don't respect as a runner(respectfully), and trying to win a shootout. Sometimes we win those sometimes we don't.
And no one wants to say it but the Ravens are being out coached on every level. And players situational awareness is poor like Fields being able to run that zone read and almost get a first down.
@@theintamindude well that usually comes down to how much Harbs depends on his analytic bible. Ever since the JK Dobbins playoff controversy, many fans have noticed this disturbing trend by Harbs when he doesn't adjust Monken's game plan. Tomlin played 4D Chess against Harbs, showing that since 2019, the Steelers have won 8 games out of 9 against the Ravens.
@SolidAvenger1290 I agree with your sentiment on the matter. Harbaugh is notorious for his in-game adjustments (or lack thereof) questionable challenges, clock management; overall, I just feel like his teams don't have the mental edge/toughness teams like PIT and KC have. I'm just growing incredibly fatigued of seeing this song and dance every year, show promise during the season but get outclassed and out-coached when it matters most. Just feels like purgatory atp.
@ I definitely agree with that. And the reason why I say it’s coaching because they don’t understand the situation and why they doing things which is coaching. Coaches put you in these situations in practice so you know why everything has purpose. For example, that 2pt conversion. Likely didn’t understand he need to change position with Nelson because a WR couldn’t crack an edge and if that defender got penetration the play was over. Or on defense when Fields came in the game not knowing that he in there to run the ball with a Qb option play that the Ravens run. And I could write a book on the penalties
What was the purpose of getting DERRICK HENRY??? MONKEN and Harbaugh are not getting it-every game this season in which the RAVENS have lost they threw the ball more than they run it.
These are the _right_ questions. I have answers, but you probably won't like them. You know how Andy Reid watches opposing defenses & adjusts to call great plays? Harbaugh & Monken are both 100% incapable of doing this. If the plays they call don't work, they just stop using them & call other ones from their playbook. But they Do Not Adjust/look at what the other team is doing & adjust. This should have been obvious when they 100% hung Lamar out to dry against the Chiefs in the playoffs. Can you _believe_ this? They said that "We called nothing but RPOs leaving All Decision-Making to Lamar Jackson. So it's _HIS FAULT_ that we lost." Wtf? "My dog ate my homework?" Why _DID YOU_ not call plays? Because they tried to think of some to work against the Chiefs & came up with none. They didn't want to lose with their plays so they didn't call any. Monken forgets Henry *exists* for large chunks of almost every game because he didn't have him last year. & honestly, that's not *all* he forgets for large chunks of games. He often gets stuck on 2-4 plays & repeats them until the opposing defense can read them a mile off. Week 1 he had Lamar throw to Likely on the Exact Same Play 3 times in a row with Justice Hill blocking *Chris Jones* all 3 times giving the Chiefs the opportunity to get better at defending it. I can't blame him for Lamar badly missing on the first try, but you see? Monken gets so focused on the One Play he drew up In Advance that he can't look at the rest of the playbook. I noticed this last season. Around week 13 he stopped this for about 3 weeks but returned to doing it. This came up again week 1 when he only ran almost only designed QB rushes for the 2nd & 3rd quarters, like he couldn't shift from one rusher to another. Honestly, he's exhibiting signs of early-onset dementia & this isn't a criticism or me being mean. He _forgets the playbook on a regular basis._
If we were to run Henry up the middle behind Ricard on that two point and get stuffed I could deal with that but taking Henry AND Ricard off the field in that situation makes NO sense. Ravens have now GIFT WRAPPED two wins for division opponents. Something gotta give with these peewee league coaching decision or we just gonna be one an done I the playoffs
They didn't even have to do that-they could use him as a decoy to set up a passing TD or make it easier or LAMAR to run in for a TD. Ravens fans who attend home games need to start to vent their feelings against Harbaugh.
@@agro-valleyfarm7217 I agree. First, bad play call. Second, why doesn't Harbs over-ride that with seconds left and game on the line? SMH. Third, what the hell were Likely and Nelly doing!!!??? We're dang lucky LJ didn't get hurt on that one.
BS. Steelers blew 5 red zone opportunities. To include as bad an Int as I can remember. If PS take two of those chances? This game isn't close. Ravens fans need to stop with this "Ravens lost rather than team X won," nonsense. Lamar had 3 passes batted in the air and 3 fell to the ground on most days at least one of those is picked off. Wilson missed wide open receivers on two of those RZ trips because he got to hung up on fling it to Pickens. You can't ignore things because they don't suit your narrative. Bottom line here Steelers on the day were the better team: deserved the win. Ravens will have a chance to correct that. I suggest Monken does so by using the MOF. PS have struggled covering MOF all season. Likely/Andrews would feast and? Far easier throws for Lamar plus routes take less time to develop so pass rush would be mitigated as well. Was shocked Ravens didn't pepper MOF with Andrews, Likely and Hill out of the backfield.
@@jlm4455ohh shut the hell up.... I don't wanna see that bullshit guy!!!! Your just being a frontrunner with your stupid explanations, just give Baltimore's defense it's due credit, Russell Wilson no your boy najee Harris or anyone on that team score a single goddamn touchdown!!!! Just admit your arch rival played a hard fought game as sloppy as it could get too not to mention and somehow fell short.... If you or anyone were telling me the Steelers weren't gonna score a TD plus throw just 1 pick, this should a been a complete utter blowout, they just find creative ways to lose to them, just stop about the not be close game it's crap....
As a Ravens fan witnessing the way these games go in Pittsburgh it honestly feels inexplicable how we lose these games. It happens in ways that just dont seem possible. Last year it was 7 ridiculous drops. This year its the most perfectly timed fumble rips and a spectacular interception. Not to mention Boswell hitting every single field goal and Tucker missing two. All of that for us just to lose by 2. Cole, why does everyting seem to go wrong for us vs this team? Its like a mental block on the entire team that we just cant beat them. We play them like theyre some world beating team and we get out of our element and make multiple mistakes trying to press for the win while they just sit back and let us implode. Tomlin absolutely owns Harbaugh in this rivalry. Winning the division would be nice but at this point it feels so much more important that we do not let this team sweep us in Baltimore because...were both making the playoffs either way and theres a good chance were going to see them a 3rd time in the postseason. FIND A WAY TO WIN!!!!
@Macheako that's what I'm saying lol that's what I was referring to with the spectacular INT. It's insane. That felt like the Chiefs punch out fumble in the championship game last year all over again
@@Macheako Yeah man it's rough. The Raven's fan experience is watching them play fantastic for 75% of the season but in the other 25% we look like a completely different squad and drop losses to teams we have no business losing to. Then we get to the playoffs and get away from what we do best and crumble. John Harbaughs time in Baltimore is quickly coming to an end. I think not winning a playoff game this year would solidify that
Raven's coaching is what happened, they gave up too soon on running Henry. I'm a steelers fan and i say if they would have stayed running Henry they would have won.
I want to trust this team against either the steelers or chiefs in the playoffs but I don't they havent showed that they can handle those two stages...We bully good teams, play down to bad teams, and cant beat two teams. IDK what the solution is...
Ravens have lost EVERY game where they gave 👑Derrick Henry LESS than 15 carries. Orr & Defense stepped up, just gotta keep Physical, go after the Ball, play more Man, replace BS w White, keep the rest of the current starters + Rotational players (Adisa, Tavius, Beau) and they’ll steadily improve. 🚨The OFFENSE struggles due to PANIC, LACK OF DISCIPLINE & loss of IDENTITY - Abandoning The Run. Every time. Beat themselves by losing themselves. 🚨 Harb & Monken played right into Tomlin’s hands. Maybe stop trying to prove something, and just use the formula thats been getting you WINS. Nothing else matters end of the day. Everyone knows Lamar is an MV3 QB. 🐐He can do it all. Now get to the Superbowl by sticking to your STRENGTHS. THEY must dictate the Game, Stop getting Scared Off so easily against better Defenses & at the first hint of Adversity 1. Harb & Todd Monken do everyone a favor & give the King the ball. 20+ a game. Thats why you got him contrary to your comments. Swallow the Fear & Pride. Esp shouldve on the 2 pt Conv which everyone knew the Play for, & you had a chance to change it. Bad Coaching 2. Devise more CREATIVE schemes to optimize & revolve around the Run and the Threat of it. Again with HENRY as your Base. Justice & Keaton are additional fuel to that fire. Swear Monken called the same run to the left 5x, cant be lazy with it. Have a habit of getting too cute as well 3. Wear teams down with that & Raven physicality. Make them fear it, control time of possession, and give our Defense less time on the Field 3. Let Lamar light up the field once the RUN IS ESTABLISHED, and opens things up like PLAY ACTION. So many players can create Separation, but Lamar can only capitalize CONSISTENTLY if he has LESS pressure & MORE time. Thats another thing the Run does. 4. You also CANNOT RELY on drop back, scrambling, long yardage plays to save you. Take what their Defense gives. More Quick, Short passes. ⭐️Be PATIENT & METHODICAL. ⭐️Fight for every yard. Even Lamar cannot be Superman the whole game. Some of it is on him but he was constantly put in horrible positions either by Play-calling or Self-Inflicted Wounds 5. Go train the *Oline*, & all our Weapons (WRs, TEs, FBs, RBs) to protect & execute that system. Unselfish Football, everyone can eat once the Table (Run) is set. Imagine leaving TJ Watt unblocked btw. Oline esp needs to focus against better DLines & point 6 6. CLEAN UP THE PENALTIES PLS. Multiple Drives killed off them alone. Bench repeat offenders (like Mekari). DISCIPLINE & FOCUSED AGGRESSION 7. Aside from that Stay Healthy, Execute Fundamentals (secure the ball, catching, KICKING??) & Show Out. Justin Tucker esp you buddy. Cost us the game twice. ‼️‼️ When the pieces come together, that method never fails until you lose your nerve, like they did with the Chiefs 2x, Raiders, Browns, and Steelers. The Playoffs will be the same story as last year otherwise ‼️‼️
John the tool man Haughbaugh. Bro I was about to retire being a fan of this team. This is ridiculous how this team gets outcoached and biscotti just becomes blind. This is every year we can’t beat teams. EDC deserves blame to for his inability to get Lamar receivers and an oline.
@ you will when this has happened over and over and over and over and over again. I’ve been with this team since 2005 and it’s been downhill since so miss me
Such a frustrating game. Limit penalties = win. Get the FGs = win. No turnovers = win (though that one on Hill was bizarre, I thought he was down). Put DH & Ricard in 2 pt conversion = probable tie. It was embarrassing. We were out-coached IMO.
That play at the end of the half, had the Ravens on their own 9 with 38 seconds left. You either take a knee, or a safe run up the middle. Ball security. Instead, Likely coughs it up to Queen. Monken cost the Ravens 3 points. They lost by 2.
@@bcamm3100 no, it was a superb play by Queen. A gift was Russell Wilson's terrible Int on 3rd n goal. Ravens have been aggressive on offense all year, yet now you want them to start taking a knee? I've seen Ravens in similar spots go right down the field and score. Why stop playing that way all of a sudden.
@@jlm4455a superb play that should not have happened. The offense was struggling all first half. Ur playing against ur nemesis on the road who has a very good D. Backed up with 40 seconds. Take the lead into half feeling good knowing ur not playing Raven football but are winning. The likely hood of scoring on that D at that time was slim. I could see if they moved the ball well, then be aggressive, but if not, be smart..
As I'm now practically vomiting all over this page, You Are Correct: Monken can design plays. But he has no improvisational skills. He can't *disguise* plays, he doesn't decide in advance to construct drives with an idea of which ones should follow 1st & short as opposed to 3rd & 20. Remember week 1 where Lamar connected with Likely (but his toe was out)? He ran that play *with the same blocking **_three straight times!!!_* He had Justice Hill blocking *Chris Jones **_three straight times!!!_* He can't improvise so he just got stuck on repeat.
I'm convinced that Agholor blew his assignment. I think he was supposed to chip 51 and leak out into the end zone and then let Mekari pick up 51, which would then force 24 to either drop back into coverage on Nelly and give Lamar space to turn the corner and run it in, or crash down on Lamar and leave Nelly open for an easy toss. That explains Ronnie and Likely's double, as it not only stops their man from getting into the backfield early, but also stops him from getting to the running lane after.
Hebrig is way too fast for Mekari to get to him even with a chip from NA. That would not have worked. You're asking an OG to pull and block an Edge player that would be a rapid moving target. Even if that OG is Yanda or Faneca in their prime they would've struggled to make that play. Thing that is missed from this analysis is really simple. Cam Heyward draws attention on defense. Very similar to the way Lamar does with a defense that opens up running lanes for others. I've lost count number of times defenders have over-committed to Lamar and RB has reaped the benefits. Plus this analysis assumes a double by a lightweight WR and not great blocking TE would nullify Herbig. I bet it wouldn't have, if anything I could see Herbig shoving Likely right into the path of the pullers.
@@jlm4455 I think you're missing my point. Agholor was supposed to chip and release on Herbig. That disrupts Herbig's rush enough to allow the lead blocker -- in this case Mekari -- to engage and block. Likely and Agholor were not supposed to double anyone together, Likely's assignment was to double with Stanley and allow both pulling OL a clear path along the bootleg. If Agholor chips and leaks into the endzone, and Mekari picks up the block, that leaves 1 on 1 on the outside for Linderbaum to block and Lamar a clear path to the endzone. If that happens, the ONLY defender that is in a position to make a play to prevent the 2 point conversion is JPJ. That creates a giant mismatch, though -- JPJ has to choose to stay in coverage on Agholor and defend the pass, or crash toward the goal line to defend the run. Regardless of which one he chooses, he's leaving one player wide open for an easy conversion. Unfortunately Agholor fully engages the block and gets pushed directly into both pulling linemen and blows up the entire play.
@@gregthomas9153 I *hope* you're right because damn, I _LOVE_ hearing people capable of analysis point this stuff out. It did seem clear that something had _seriously_ gone wrong. But I don't have any of the NFL's bonus features or even access to see full games, so I can't see this stuff myself. I was gonna pay for that stuff but I find that even analysis channels' content creators seem averse to discussing play-calling with others. To me, the Main Problem is that Monken seems capable of designing plays, but not calling games. He doesn't plan for any specific opponent. & if things don't go right, he allows Lamar less & less leeway to call audibles, but also looks at fewer plays. He can't improvise. Not only that, even when they're winning, he often gets these 'senior moments' where he forgets 90%+ of the playbook, or even that he has Derrick Henry. The Steelers have their own albatross at OC. For whatever reason he seems to be doing to Fields what he did to Bijan last year, reducing his capacity to move the ball downfield. Have you heard anything about _that?_
Henry got zero carries in the 4th qtr. One of those could have been a big 1 for a TD. You never know. How do you have derrick freakin henry and he doesn't get the ball in thr 4th qtr? I could see if we were getting blown out and had to pass. The game was tight all game long. I could even understand if they was juat flat out stopping him. He averaged 5 yrds per carry. How do he not get the ball in the most important Qtr of a close game? Its mind boggling to me. Its a trend. Every single game we lose, they stop going to henry. You would think they'd learn.
This has been regular for Monken. I actually believe he is exhibiting signs of dementia. He forgets large sections of the playbook for large chunks of games. Week 1 he forgot Henry existed for the 2nd & 3rd quarters. He also called the same play 3 times in a row at the end of the game. He can't think quickly, or improvise, & can't shift his focus _in _*_good_*_ moments._ So he gets worse when stressed.
@ChewsCarefully i agree. I've been saying ppl give him more credit than he deserves. Lamar makes most of those plays work because of his talent and abilities. Give lamar any competent OC, and he'll win games. Remember when he kept doing screen plays with zay? He acts like other teams don't watch film.
That play by Peyton Wilson is just elite elite shit. Justice Hill flat out runs away from most LBs in this league especially with the nice rub. To say nothing of the actual play swiping the ball.
If you ask me, that play will never be rated properly. Even now, because most of these infotainment NFL channels love to focus on offense, they're under-stating how amazing a play this was. He *ripped the ball out of the defender's hands as he was falling to the ground.* When was the last time we saw that, never? My hatred of what Arthur Smith has done to Fields makes me like the entire team that much less (because Tomlin is either Too Stupid to see it or *is **_okay with it_* & neither of those options is good) & I still think this is a top-3 play in the entire NFL so far this year.
No, it comes down the Steelers having a fast, physical and smart defense that makes Lamar & Co struggle. There were plenty of plays when PS were on the field that had bad calls, missed assignments & bad mistakes by the Steelers. The difference here? Is Steelers overcome those mistakes and Ravens do not. That is why 8 of the last 9 contests went to the Steelers.
FAILURE is path of the journey to success. LOSS means lessons to be learnt-This film highlights what LAMAR needs to do better in future games-TH-cam: WHY did the BALTIMORE RAVENS LOSE to the Steelers!? (A22 Film Breakdown) Road Graders w/Cole Jackson
It's a bit ironic that Patrick Queen had his revenge against the Ravens, seeing that Harbs & Co didn't have enough to desire him back, and this game was karma for Baltimore for letting Queen go to the Steelers, seeing how the Ravens' defense has struggled without him in a purple jersey.
I don't wanna hear that.... Fuck that..... He can stay TF over there, dissing his former team because we couldn't pay him..... Funny you mentioned that the defense struggled with out him, does queen play safety?! No... Ravens defense did not allow a single TD!!!! They even gave them 5 short fields lol!!! Didn't look like they missed him
@@RobertCrouse-d2h Correct. Also, I've seen videos pointing out his weaknesses. He can be fooled to running away from where the ball is going quite easily. The problem is, the Ravens don't _do_ that. Neither Harbaugh nor Monken have any ability to disguise plays or build them on each other. Honestly, they've been bailed out by roster about as many times as Nick Sirianni who is also incapable of those things.
Likely and Agholor could've came off of their blocks and flooded JPJ's side. He was the only one over there. Or at least Likely could have shed his block and gave Lamar a target when Porter broke inward. On the Henry fumble, Faalele should've picked up Herbig. He was wide open and came in untouched. Just like when Henry got blown up by Watt. Rosengarten did pick him up.
The issue of PENALTIES is due to coaching. A coach with a "nice guy" personality is NOT going to get the BEST out of a team of adult men. Harbaugh MUST adopt a tougher approach with players that are NOT doing their job. BILL BELICHICK rule is: "Do your job or go"
Joey Porter, aka, the Lamar stopper 😂...last year, he picked off that sorry, inept forced pass to OBJ in the endzone and this year, stops him on a sorry, inept 2pt rush attempt...meanwhile, Mark Andrews was WIDE open in the endzone to receive a pass on the play.
Joey Porter is trash bro chill, he was holding Zay flowers the whole game. Probably will be a Different game when they come to Baltimore.. refs were like the chiefs refs in this game
@@GMoney88-x2don’t worry… this guy is a known Lamar hater… he’s been quiet this whole season becuz Lamar been ballin out. He hasn’t given Lamar praise at all but his whole season. @bcamm3100 Lol...yet, I repeat YET...he ended up "throwing" the football, to no one in particular as nothing but linemen were around him as he PANICKED...as if it were, "backyard football gee." 😆🤣
This is why doing your 1/11th is important Justice is suppose to block Patrick Queen he doesn’t even come close and he’s the one who’s ripping the ball out.
Herbig made a great play x 2 Queen made a great play Wilson made a great play I 100% guarantee had Roquan, Oweh and Simpson made those plays? You'd be raving non-stop about them. Take off the purple kool aid glasses. The biggest gift turnover in the game? Russell Wilson's terrible interception. Plus, the complaining about the Ref (again) is so predictable. Bet you had zero issues with Flowers pushing off to create separation for his TD catch or a ticky/tacky hold down field that wiped out a sack on Lamar. Not to mention Rosengarten even with chip help having to grab TJ Watt continually. Yet a hold that gets called on Heyward that looks fairly obvious is ticky tack because Heyward wouldn't have made a play...if he isn't held, he at least slows Henry down and help gets there to limit the gain. "Mekari just need to drive that outside shoulder," sounds nice but that is Cam Heyward. He is kinda good and if Mekari does try to drive at that shoulder Heyward has the strength/feet to get off that block and clog up the play. On that screen, that is what Watt does. He changes plays because of his athleticism & quickness. He bats down passes at least once a game and sometimes more. If Lamar throws that and Watt gets a hand on it? You're risking a deflected pass deep in your own territory. Perfectly understandable why Lamar hesitated. You cannot simply go over a play and say that "edge guy" or that "defensive lineman" when it is TJ Watt and Heyward. Steelers despite offense shooting itself in the foot in red zone won this game. Why? Defense does not over commit like so many teams do with Lamar. Which then gives him opportunity to run for chunks or step up and make plays in pocket. Steelers D also plays man fairly well and that allowed them to blitz on 1st/2nd down to force Ravens into 3rd n longs. Here is the thing, this isn't one game. Ravens' offense struggling happens every time they play the Steelers. At what point does it become obvious that the Steelers D is forcing mistakes, and you stop leading with Ravens "shoot themselves in the foot?" Take the ineligible calls. If a pocket is collapsing on the regular and Lamar is forced to scramble around to make a play? Chances are a lineman will be too far down the field. These are the type of situations an aggressive defense with playmakers puts another team in. The evidence is there. It keeps happening. That is a trend. Ravens when they face a fast, athletic and strong defense tend to struggle.
@@RoadGradersFB thing is I wasn't blaming the Refs. Bad calls happen all the time. I've seen Pickens get away with a push off and get called for non-existent push off. The team that overcomes bad calls: wins. Ravens routinely when they lose, you and fans like you moan about the Refs. I saw it clear as day last season in AFCCG. You whined about DPI that TBF should've been called. Then of course ignored Chris Jones being blatantly tripped in the EZ or WTF hold call on Rice TD before the half. Chiefs overcame that, Ravens didn't. It is ongoing theme and maybe one day when you stop upselling Ravens draft picks as the next superstar you will figure that out. BTW Ravens message board you inhabit is so laden with Kool aid it is downright comical. That board creates a bubble, a bubble that you happily reside in. Problem is that bubble rarely allows you critically think beyond your bias. It means you have endless excuses for why Ravens lost and rarely if ever acknowledge the other team was just better.
I’ve acknowledge the stuff the Steelers did including getting in passing lanes lmao. I acknowledged numerous times they won the trenches over the years and that they win by being more physical and more in the mold of the 00’s AFC North battles. I don’t think any of these calls were that bad. A little ticky tacky which is the words I said. The reality is in this video I positioned that “you can’t turn the ball over 3 times, have 12 penalties and miss 3 field goals and win” I didn’t say the Steelers didn’t do Anything to earn those lol. You know damn well that Queen strip and Wilson strip were not normal plays lol.
@@RoadGradersFB*The Queen and Wilson strip were not normal no, not for most Defenses. But in Pittsburgh, yes it's 100% normal. The Tomlin/Austin Defense is predicated off of the aggressive QB pressures, ball hunting philosophy that makes opposing Offenses adjust to the Steelers D by takjng away there 1st option and their best player. The Ravens want to run the ball and feature TE Andrews in passing game. The Steelers take away RB Henry and force Lamar to throw the ball to anyone other than TE Andrews. They also confuse Lamar b/c the Steelers have played a 34 Fire Zone Defense since the Cowher 90's Blitzburgh teams that both Dick LeBeau and Dom Capers invented. Tomlin had Dick LeBeau as his DC until 2016 but took his 43 Tampa2 stuff and mixed it with the LeBeau 34 Fire Zone. It's confuses Lamar. Watt is best NFL Defensive player in game. Cam Heyward is future HOF load for any OLine and Minka will roam Centerfield like Ed Reed and force the Ravens and Lamar to adjust. But they can't*
@RoadGradersFB Obviously the Steelers weren't playing "normal" ball. I seem to remember a time when the Ravens defense weren't normal either. You got bullied pal, face it.
On that 2pt conversion I think Nelly was trying to tell Likely they should be switched. But like you said the scheme is bad. This was a very poor game from Monken. I think we hit the ceiling with this o line. Anytime we play physical d lines it’s a flag feast and Monken stop running the ball. Give me Jones and Ben at guards any day of the week
The 2 point conv play would have worked if likely did his job! He screwed everything up! He was supposed #51 with Agholor! And linderbaum and the other pulling lineman would have cleared #24 and it would have scored to tie and go to overtime
I'm going to tell you what it is. The coach. The Officials and the players. 12 penalties. 2 fumbles a BS interception and 2 missed field goals. 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♀️
I see and does that apply when Flowers clearly pushes off to gain separation for his TD or does it only apply when fits what delusional tin foil hatted BS you believe. I saw Ravens whining non-stop after the AFCCG and I shook my head. Yes, the DPI was a bad no call but guess what? The tripping on Chris Jones in the EZ that should've been a safety was equally bad. As was the phantom hold call on Rice's TD before the half. Yet I bet you ignored both of those moments because you were too busy smothering yourself in tinfoil.
@jlm4455 oh that's right, you think I'm a fan of fake phony football. Come on bro, you and I both know that no one was beating Taylor Swift on her way to the Superbowl. Not when she helped pull in $330 million due to record-breaking views.
They lost because Justin Tucker can't kick field goals straight and Todd Monken forgets he has Derrick Henry in the backfield in the fourth quarter he had no rushing attempts best insane it's the same thing he did in the AFC championship game last year calling only six running plays Todd monken is there to sabotage the Baltimore Ravens season but you have to blame John harbaugh too he's standing there watching it
In the words of the late great Kobe Bryant “soft” the steelers were the aggressor the Ravens were being attacked and never fought back. The offense I’m speaking of.
Let me say something obvious about sports. You don't know your team's or your players true strengths or weaknesses until you get on the court or the field against them. When the whistle blows, it's only then do you know how fast or strong they are. Harbaugh doesn't understand this. He thinks PRACTICE is the determining factor. But you NEVER practice against the opponent. PRACTICE is something he can control. The game isn't a controlled environment. He is a seriously incompetent coach.
I like the other sides perspective..your good .but Steelers stripped both fumbles..there's a diff between sloppy fumbles and nice defensive plays..same with the interceptions..pgh took the ball .while Russ gifted the Ravens..
It's not hard to figure out. John "NEPOTISM" HARBUM hires fallguys as coordinators. So that we don't point the finger at him. Mike MacDonald would never hire a Monken. We have always been Ray's & Ed's team. HARBUM never liked that.

As John Gruden said, the 6'5 320lb load with "bulldozer traits" Sorry but nobody on Ravens OLine is stopping Cam Heyward. Do you realize the Steelers Defense has 3 All-Pro future HOF players in Cam, Watt, and Minka that have ayed together for 5+ years. But those 3 Hall of Famers now add another All-Pro, former Ravens ILB Queen, and SS Elliott who fit in the Steelers D perfectly in that they are playing roles that fit their traits or play styles and let the 3 originals play more free. Add a 6'3 Corner with the longest arms in the NFL to play "press man coverage" vs Offense WR1 and the QB is limited to what he can do vs Steelers D*
@@natetewkesbury You're running a sweep counter outside the WR. Ronnie Stanley needs to stalemate, which he does a ton on any power or IZ concept. You can't help him on every snap. This take is beyond silly lmao. The Ravens have run this play numerous times and they double the outside EDGE because that's the force point. Doesn't take shit away from Cam Heyward lmfao
Come on now pls make sure you have the facts for stats correct bcuz Henry fumbled in the end zone the game where pat ricard recovered it for the td I think it was the cowboys game
@ I know and he knew what you meant he just moist because we lost. They even showed the stat you mentioned during the game when Henry was punching his pads I believe. This team has a long way to go as far as beating themselves and it’s frustrating.
@julianotis4236 you can't blame 100% of your loss on tucker man. Boz didn't do good in 2017 or 18 as well. Your team had alot of other chances. 12Penalties. 2 fumbles and 1int isn't tuckers fault. I mean Lamar went like 16-33 or somethin like that. Our defense just shut ya down. Yall only gave Henry the ball 13 times. Many, many others to blame..
You mentioned all the problems but the biggest is the Steelers D is damn good and fast.
Things like that tend to happen whenever they face well coached teams like PIT, KC, etc. Always unprepared more often than not.
@ it’s a trend.
Or on defense when
Fields came in the game not knowing that he in there to run the ball with a Qb option play that the Ravens run.
And I could write a book on the penalties
What was the purpose of getting DERRICK HENRY??? MONKEN and Harbaugh are not getting it-every game this season in which the RAVENS have lost they threw the ball more than they run it.
Easy way to rig games, "bad coaching decisions."
They gonna run the ball 6 times again with Henry in the Championship if they make it there atp
Sadly, rinse and repeat he needed more touches and they were in the game no excuse for not getting him more involved
So it's _HIS FAULT_ that we lost."
Wtf?
We will be 1 and done. Nothing has or will change. Maybe next year.

Running MORE on 3rd and 5+ is an insane ask lol. Have you played football ? WHY WOULD WE RUN ON 3RD AND LONG WITH A 2X MVP QB
What about the Hill catch turned to interception late in the game!! 😂😂😂 wtf even was that lol

There isn't one. What you've seen is what you'll get.
Fired the Coaches next year.😂
Ravens have lost EVERY game where they gave 👑Derrick Henry LESS than 15 carries.
Harb & Monken played right into Tomlin’s hands. Maybe stop trying to prove something, and just use the formula thats been getting you WINS. Nothing else matters end of the day.
Everyone knows Lamar is an MV3 QB. 🐐He can do it all.
Now get to the Superbowl by sticking to your STRENGTHS. THEY must dictate the Game, Stop getting Scared Off so easily against better Defenses & at the first hint of Adversity
1. Harb & Todd Monken do everyone a favor & give the King the ball. 20+ a game. Thats why you got him contrary to your comments. Swallow the Fear & Pride. Esp shouldve on the 2 pt Conv which everyone knew the Play for, & you had a chance to change it. Bad Coaching
2. Devise more CREATIVE schemes to optimize & revolve around the Run and the Threat of it. Again with HENRY as your Base. Justice & Keaton are additional fuel to that fire. Swear Monken called the same run to the left 5x, cant be lazy with it. Have a habit of getting too cute as well
3. Wear teams down with that & Raven physicality. Make them fear it, control time of possession, and give our Defense less time on the Field
Some of it is on him but he was constantly put in horrible positions either by Play-calling or Self-Inflicted Wounds
5. Go train the *Oline*, & all our Weapons (WRs, TEs, FBs, RBs) to protect & execute that system. Unselfish Football, everyone can eat once the Table (Run) is set.
Imagine leaving TJ Watt unblocked btw. Oline esp needs to focus against better DLines & point 6
6. CLEAN UP THE PENALTIES PLS. Multiple Drives killed off them alone. Bench repeat offenders (like Mekari). DISCIPLINE & FOCUSED AGGRESSION
Real fans don't "retire" as fans.
@ you will when this has happened over and over and over and over and over again. I’ve been with this team since 2005 and it’s been downhill since so miss me
On the top of the 3rd and longs: I feel like we ran the ball on 2nd down 3 times maybe. Terrible playcalling in this game.
WHY IT'S GOTTA B HOLDER WHY CANT B WE HOLD ON TUCKER TWO YEARS TOO MUCH BEEN MISSING SINCE 2021 look it up
Such a frustrating game. Limit penalties = win. Get the FGs = win. No turnovers = win (though that one on Hill was bizarre, I thought he was down). Put DH & Ricard in 2 pt conversion = probable tie. It was embarrassing. We were out-coached IMO.
Not even out coached, just blatant distrust of your team, and not even picking obvious stuff to succeed. Brain rot for no reason.
That play at the end of the half, had the Ravens on their own 9 with 38 seconds left. You either take a knee, or a safe run up the middle. Ball security. Instead, Likely coughs it up to Queen. Monken cost the Ravens 3 points. They lost by 2.
That was a 🎁 for the Steelers..
Every team in the nfl knows how to use their RBs except the ravens. Its ridiculous
@ what has he done to Fields that your so upset about?
HERE WE GO
It all comes down to poor coaching and bad play calling at times.

The problem is, the Ravens don't _do_ that. Neither Harbaugh nor Monken have any ability to disguise plays or build them on each other. Honestly, they've been bailed out by roster about as many times as Nick Sirianni who is also incapable of those things.

This team sucks too bad on defense and is far too inconsistent on offense to make a run. Save your money folks, it’s not worth it this season.
What’s up with the O lineman getting called for illegal blocking down field?
Likely and Agholor could've came off of their blocks and flooded JPJ's side. He was the only one over there. Or at least Likely could have shed his block and gave Lamar a target when Porter broke inward.
On the Henry fumble, Faalele should've picked up Herbig. He was wide open and came in untouched. Just like when Henry got blown up by Watt. Rosengarten did pick him up.

1 out of the past 9. What do you mean why? The better question is why do people seem to think the Ravens are more likely to beat the Steelers?
Mike Tomlin told us one of the reasons why we lost the game.

Herbig made a great play x 2
Queen made a great play
Wilson made a great play
I 100% guarantee had Roquan, Oweh and Simpson made those plays?
At what point does it become obvious that the Steelers D is forcing mistakes, and you stop leading with Ravens "shoot themselves in the foot?"
Take the ineligible calls.
You calling me a complainer and then complaining was objectively hilarious
The reality is in this video I positioned that “you can’t turn the ball over 3 times, have 12 penalties and miss 3 field goals and win”
I didn’t say the Steelers didn’t do Anything to earn those lol.
#51 is Nick Herbig, running all over the offense. Get used to it...
Would have been just a little smarter to call QB Power Pass if in that formation.
The 2 point conv play would have worked if likely did his job! He screwed everything up! He was supposed #51 with Agholor! And linderbaum and the other pulling lineman would have cleared #24 and it would have scored to tie and go to overtime
Hey pgh had a lot of penalties negating big plays too..sack Lamar for yard loss..and defensive holding .then bal zips right down field..
2 missed f g.three fumbles. Penalties
I'm going to tell you what it is. The coach. The Officials and the players. 12 penalties. 2 fumbles a BS interception and 2 missed field goals. 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♀️
Simple answer, the National Fixed League is owned by Vegas sports bookies and the house never loses.
@@jlm4455 and where did I say anything about penalties? Move on bro
Those aren't turnovers they're takeaways
WHY did the BALTIMORE RAVENS LOSE to the Steelers!? Because the Steelers scored more points. Simple!
It's not hard to figure out. John "NEPOTISM" HARBUM hires fallguys as coordinators. So that we don't point the finger at him. Mike MacDonald would never hire a Monken. We have always been Ray's & Ed's team. HARBUM never liked that.
Same reason that they always lose to most beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, duh,,,,
Sorry, man, but that is a ridiculous take regarding not double teaming 97. Cam Heyward would have blown up the Ravens pullers instead of 51.
@@jdmiller24 Stanley can handle Hayward to clear out a pulling path.
@@RoadGradersFB*Cam Heyward is about to be named 1st team All-Pro for the 5th time and is bound for Canton.
Justin Tucker is a liability. We have to stop being so nice to him. He’s been pretty inconsistent since 2021.
11:50 Also Chiefs neither can win in normal fair ref games
Come on now pls make sure you have the facts for stats correct bcuz Henry fumbled in the end zone the game where pat ricard recovered it for the td I think it was the cowboys game
He probably meant fumbles lost
Lost fumble. I did forget to say the word lost. Fair enough.
@@RoadGradersFB I knew what you were saying
Definitely didn’t intend to be misleading lol
@ I know and he knew what you meant he just moist because we lost. They even showed the stat you mentioned during the game when Henry was punching his pads I believe.
This team has a long way to go as far as beating themselves and it’s frustrating.
The Ravens lost to the Steelers because........ready?
Steelers are better!
Lamar cant thro kids we been known this only ever beat the texans in playoffs 😂 😂
Lamar cant throw
lamar has the most perfect passer ratings lol Lamar is the best pocket passer in the league.
DEFENCE WINS GAMES.
Yall will figure it out someday, might be after coach T retires tho.
⬛️🟨⬛️🟨
*DEFENSE*. Yep, THE Steelers BLOCKED THOSE 2 TUCKER FGS, AND I JUST MISSED THAT PART. 🙄😳🙄
