Hard to win or even get nominated when there's about 10 QBs in the same era who could all go down as all-time greats. Being consistently good instead of having peaks and troughs is good for the franchise's performance, but not for setting personal records.
He did it 2 times. #1 was against the Indianapolis Colts & the next week was this game against the Ravens. Ben still holds the record as the only quarterback in the NFL to throw 6 TD Passes 2 games in a row.
Big Ben was absolutely unstoppable! 🔥 That’s the kind of legendary performance fans live for. Hats off to a QB who knows how to deliver when it matters most. 🙌👏

That was a wild-ass two weeks, Ben throwing 6 TDs in back-to-back games. It was fun to watch. Then we face-planted the next week against the Jets, losing 20-13.
@@Kira-zi1qp They kept getting hurt, and the defense was crap cuz they had to pay the offense. They had the worst secondary in the league year after year.
This was his 2nd game in a row that he threw 6 TD’s. The 1st one was against the Colts. Ben is the only QB to throw 6 TD’s in back to back games. Thanks for the memories Ben. ❤❤
Did you not hear the announcers say it was a chilly night in NOVEMBER? Not the first two games. The record is 12 throwing tds in any two game span. Ben also holds the record for most 500 yd passing games, is tied for the most perfect QBR games and has the best outside the pocket career completion percentage (minimum 100 pass attempts).
It's impressive how pedestrian Roethlisberger's numbers look in this game in comparison to what he did to Indianapolis, even though every QB would be dying to have a game like this.
This was the only time from 2011-2016 where the Ravens laid an egg against the Steelers. Everyone talks about how Pittsburgh has had Baltimore's number in the Lamar Era, what they forget was that during the Killer B's Era, it was the other way. From Opening Day 2011 to the Immaculate Extension, the Ravens had won 9 of 12 games against the Steelers, and two of those wins by Pittsburgh were on last second field goals. That to me is why I think this rivalry is crazy. The underdog for the most part prevails because they have either nothing to lose, or its just that feeling of where everything is thrown out the window if not both.
Yeah it's always close and fun to watch. Steelers lead in the win loss category 35-25 (3-1 in the postseason) but the games themselves are always close. There's only like 2 games where it was blowouts basically, when the Steelers won 37 to 0 and also when the Ravens won 35 to 7. Hard to believe the Ravens only have one win against Pittsburgh in the last 8 games, doesn't even seem like it haha
And yeah, those stats Lamar has against Pittsburgh is like his worst ever lol unbelievable amount of turnovers against Pittsburgh in just 4 games. He cleans that up this game, I think they'll dominate the Steelers defense, they've been giving up way too many yards in just a few plays. Which happens like every single game haha 3 or 4 plays and the other team is already In field goal range. I don't trust the Steelers secondary. They give up way too many long plays at crucial moments in almost every game
@@LexyThomas134Lamar sneakily had a very good game vs Pittsburgh his last outing (he was pffs highest graded passer of the week), it was just a ton of drops that ruined the ravens.
Ben may have not been the most consistently great but when he was on, there was literally no one better. He’s up there with perfect passer rating games and most 500 yard games in a win.
I remember this like it was yesterday. I was a sophomore in college and the world was still beautiful and Steelers were the best offensively, just a bit behind on defense. Nonetheless, can’t believe it’s been 10 years! Wow
What a difference a decade makes - nobody really making a fuss over a 1st down, TD celebrations limited to make a fist bump or a high five, and QBs actually getting tackled (although in Ben's case he was such a lump it was like watching people trying to bring down a telegraph pole). Also interesting to see who's still in the game ten years later - Flacco, Heyward, Juszczyk, and that's it I think?
I'd be careful about saying that because this same defense came back to Heinz Field and knocked Pittsburgh out of the playoffs. If you're a Steelers fan, you don't want that to take place again, you know where you dominate them at home, and then come to Baltimore in Week 16 and have everything zapped from you.
This was an interesting year for the Steelers. The offense became truly elite with the Killer B’s but the defense regressed mightily in LeBeau’s final season as DC. They went 11-5 but could have easily went 13-3 and had the #1 seed if they didn’t lose to a 2-14 Bucs team and a 4-12 Jets team
So considering how awful the Ravens pass defense is, I'm hoping to see Russell Wilson put up those kinds of numbers that Big Ben put up 10 years ago (holy shit, 10 years ago?????)

That's one more touchdown in this one game than Justin Fields had in 6 games, yet everyone thought Fields was a starter. And don't start with the "he ran some in, too", ya, he did, but that does not mean that nobody else could have run the ball in, pretty much only the quarterback is going to throw a touchdown.
