Thanks Cole after watching this I want to formally apologize to Lamar today bc he was frustrating the heck out of me yesterday but at the same time his OLine was getting Dogwalked the entire game. Hard to win that way

I been saying that bro. Every game Lamar looks “bad” it’s literally the line getting dogwalked every play damn near. I’m telling people y’all want Lamar to walk on water sometimes and he still just a player. He’s amazing but he can’t overcome his teammates not doing their job

Big props for apologizing, man. I was legit arguing with people all day just trying to point out how Lamar had very little time to react with that line collapsing on him, but everyone told me the O-line played just fine and that this was Lamar's fault entirely.

Lamar's stats have been amazing all year and are still better than Mahomes. He was leading the league in every single passing stat up until this week. Mahomes has the most interceptions and hasn't looked right at all this year although he's starting to turn that around. But my point is, the Chiefs weren't winning games this year because of Patrick Mahomes. They were winning in spite of Patrick Mahomes.

Lamar had a bad game and the O line couldn’t hold up, but you know what made this even worse? The play calling on offense what’s up with these deep pass plays? O line can’t hold up long enough for the routes to develop why hasn’t Todd or John notice that? What happened to short passes to get the 1st and wear the defense down! The team is out of sync consistently and calling those types of deep pass plays only kills momentum. For one majority of the time the WR aren’t open which leads to an incomplete pass or a sack. I don’t understand why the coaching staff hasn’t made adjustments to compensate. I started watching football about three years ago because of Lamar but I see a lot of silly play calling and management of our ravens! And yes Lamar should run when the opportunity presents itself, but as a QB that’s not his job that’s why we have Hill/Henry we are accustomed to it because he does it effortlessly.

Anything less than a typical lamar game is considered bad. Despite his mis-throws, Lamar did enough to help his team win. Lamar played better than hurts statistically.

It does seem strange doesn't it? Sign Derrick Henry.. then completely dismantle OL so there is no continuity. The OL play has been a problem all season. People were calling for Ben Cleveland in the pre season. Their pass blocking and run blocking is terrible. Lamar's playstyle is good for 10-13 wins. So we always seem competitive, and Ravens can still make tons of money.

@@michaellee-kz5rw first off you’re not getting Vorhees at the bye week. In previous years after wayyy too much time and an injury we saw other guys get a shot, for the better, and for which the end of the bar had been calling for. I’m talking the shuffle in 2020 that got Ben powers in there to be the guy after being like 4th on the depth chart for RG. James Hurst and Orlando. How long we kept seeing the team basically insisting that Tyree Phillips start somewhere on the line no matter how much he floundered.
Second of all Zietler was way better than all these dudes if we’re talking overall. You think our OL won’t get handled in the playoffs? I hope yours right

    • @joshhoffman5233
      @joshhoffman5233 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@gregorylturnerjr6197 I really think Lamar and Henry together makes them think they can or need to skimp on OL. They won’t skimp on defense. So I look at the history. Joe flacco gets paid, Boldin with modest contract has to be traded for peanuts. We never get Joe another legit set of weapons except arguably 2014 bc we lucked into SSS wanting to do a final year somewhere to win. They get Lamar and the first thing they think is great now we can skimp on OL and WR. Draft but don’t pay. Particularly G. Also notice how we typically have somebody starting at G like Tyre Phillips and now Falaale while there’s depth there that prob should be starting. Remember Ben powers became the clear starter but only bc of injury apocalypse in 2020? We always are running some silly nonsense with who starts at OL. I don’t know if it’s who is in the harbaugh group chat or what

The guards are below average NFL starting guards. I believe it affects Monken’s play calling, it affect the rhythm of the offense, the belief in each other. Lamar can be spectacular but relying on him to be that way for the offense to consistently win does not and will not ever work. We had some nice runs and then were throwing it deep 1st and 2nd down, just not a plan for success especially with our limitations at the offensive line

Every time we get down in points we start playing like we are down by 21 points in the 4th quarter. I believe the defensive struggles and lack of fundamentals makes this team emotional and they ride momentum too much. The last few games I have watch the offense go from consistently driving it with penalties like crazy, to trying to tie the score on every play. My point being. We run the ball and convert a 3rd down, then throw 2 deep balls, end up in 3rd and long and expect a bad o-line to hold up. The defense is finally holding and we don’t need to play these games as if “we need 40 to win.” The best thing we can do for our O-line is to run the ball consistently

Jones doesn't offer any push in run blocking at the guard position to where at least mekari actually understands all of his assignments but both of them are tackles not guards nimble with their feet but weak at the point of attack at least vs any solid defensive front 4 at least with Andrew Voorhees you get a decisive mauler on the o-line and Ben Cleveland's preseason film says he lost the RG role rather than Faalele winning it that's for sure

The organization didn't do a good job with the O line but what is criminal is the inability to admit mistakes and play better players. It's frustrating trying to be smarter than everyone is more important than winning. I think this offense can be better against better teams by doing play action on 1st down and staying out of 2nd and 3rd and long. our run game is much better when its 2nd and short and our pass game is much better when we pass on traditional run downs

Literally can't get worse than this. Harbs always puts talent in the dog house and thats why guys leave and spite him

  • @cmcgccjsl

The issue is that the Ravens have a solid offensive line, but not a great one. Neither the interior or the tackles can hold up against elite talent. The Eagles, Chiefs, Steelers, and Browns all have dominant players on the defensive line, and the Ravens can't block those guys. They lose the physical battle every time. Lamar is dodging multiple pass rushers up the middle and on the edge, not just one pass rusher like Hurts was yesterday against the Ravens. Ravens just aren't good enough up front on either side of the ball. The Eagles dominated them. And considering the Eagles have All pro offensive and defensive linemen in spades and the Ravens don't, they should. 🤷

Our offense also needs to adjust to the days of us having a field goal kicker accurate from 45+ are over.

Did you think it was gonna be easy?!! That Old OC could’ve adjusted his play Calling as well knowing who he’s got out there.
Let’s hope the O-Line learned from this BEATDOWN ha ha lol 😂!

Crazy in an amazing year with Lamar we STILL have the same Harbaugh problem. His pride & ego ruin things for everybody. He REFUSES to put the best 11 on the field. Its clear as day...and he's been doing this forever. Whether it be his ego-drive famous "doghouse" or him having favorites...he puts himself over putting our team in the best position to win.
Lamar covers up so much of it...but it becomes super crystal clear when we are losing just how much dysfunctional roster choices are.
Like WHY THE F is Mekari still starting? He is a backup at best that is a good piece when filling in short periods when someone goes down but he has NEVER been starting material. He is average at everything and great at nothing and becomes a liability anytime there is above average talent on the opposing side. He completely makes it impossible to run to the left because his run blocking is abysmal due to him not being nowhere near strong enough.
Then there is the grand failure experiment of Faalele. You were WRONG coach...and he can't admit it, so he keeps playing a guy who is out of position, is a liability on every snap and ends up blocking nothing but air on half his snaps. Too slow, lacks short area quickness and is a massively slow processor. By the time he recognizes a stunt Lamar is already either running for his life or on the ground...
What makes this a big deal is it would be one thing if we had nobody of good talent to replace them...but the problem is WE DO. We have much more talented guys just riding the bench all season and everyone knows it. You have Mekari who is literally the MOST penalized O-lineman in the league...and you still haven't benched him for Vorhees? Why? Isn't Vorhees supposed to be the guy we want to be the future LG...so why is he on the bench while Mr. hold every play keeps ruining half our offensive drives. Then we have Cleavland who we have ON TAPE being a much better guard than Faalele has shown in 13 weeks...yet we are all just having to sit back and watch Lamar running for his life knowing we have way better blockers on the bench. This season has been insane to watch. I've never been a guy to jump to the "Harbaugh needs to be fired" takes...but for the first time I'm there now...I'm all the way there. Yikes...

Watching the eagles d line work is a thing of beauty. They set a trap with the ends force qbs to step up and defensive tackles just gobble them up. Now with that being said both our starting guards are tackles 😂. Faalele would be fine being slower if he had the strength and is physicality of a 6’7 370 pound guard blowing people off the ball and killing people on pull plays but he doesn’t. He is to slow and soft. Patrick has the speed but can’t keep his feet under him. They should really let Ben and Voorhees start and see how they do. Dexter Lawrence is a Maneater, the best defense tackle in football.

eagles fan as well..the Ravens on both sides of the ball got whipped on the line. Lamar had to make superhero plays. Jalen Hurts played like D- level and we won anyway. The Ravens need to give Lamar better pass catchers that can beat man coverage faster and a better interior o line. Lamar wasnt good but he wasnt the reason they lost either.

The play by the Of line is horrendous. Jackson is not to blame as a QB on the field but organizationally his mama had to warn him about his( elite) Flacco contract and it's impact. Cole you basically ripped them for not improving in the trenches and letting people walk. This is the result. Jackson had no idea his line was weak. Bs... The GM knew it too. I hope Henry does not sue Jackson if he gets injured cause of this crap. Lol. The GM and Harbs are both ridiculous. E.D. is an arrogant idiot. The soft lineman are laughable.

Fixing the Ravens' Offensive Line Woes
    J
Write me a good response to this transcript indicating none of this will be fixed until the off season
    ## The OFFENSIVE LINE LET LAMAR JACKSON DOWN (Baltimore Ravens A22 Film Breakdown)
    ### Chapter
The article critiques the Baltimore Ravens' offensive line performance during a recent game, highlighting it as the primary reason for their loss. The breakdown details various plays, emphasizing consistent pressure faced by quarterback Lamar Jackson, which hindered his ability to step up and make accurate throws. The author discusses specific instances of poor blocking by guards Patrick McCary and Daniel Faalele, leading to sacks and disrupted plays. Concerns are raised about the effectiveness of the current lineup, suggesting the need for potential changes or alternatives. The analysis stresses that the offensive line's failure to create a stable pocket resulted in Jackson feeling compelled to drift back and make difficult throws. The commentary reflects frustration over the offensive line's inability to perform, suggesting it is a recurring issue in the Ravens' big games, ultimately placing blame on the line's poor play rather than on Jackson's capabilities.
The offensive line issues you're seeing with the Ravens are deeply structural and won't see meaningful fixes until the offseason. While Lamar Jackson is one of the most electric quarterbacks in the league, even his exceptional mobility can't consistently compensate for the fundamental protection breakdowns, especially from McCary and Faalele's positions. The interior pressure is particularly concerning since it prevents Jackson from stepping up in the pocket - a crucial mechanic for any quarterback's success.
These aren't just technique issues that can be coached up mid-season. They reflect roster construction problems that can only be properly addressed through free agency and the draft. While the coaching staff might make minor adjustments with personnel groupings or protection schemes, the core problems with individual matchups and talent deficiencies will persist through the season.
What's most frustrating is that this has been a recurring theme in crucial games. For a team with Super Bowl aspirations, having your franchise quarterback under constant duress is a serious liability. The Ravens will need to prioritize offensive line upgrades in the offseason - particularly at guard - if they want to maximize Jackson's prime years. Until then, they'll have to scheme around these protection weaknesses as best they can.

I haven't even watched this video and ima say how dare you play with the Oline . First off everybody went into this season with low expectations for the OLine but they been beyond great. Lamar is never under constant pressure and Lamar have time. The oline is one of the strengths. Look at their sacks allowed . They are elite.

      @DorkJelly 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

Lol somebody on the O-line gotta be your cousin or something because this is a historically bad take. Your QB being under 35%+ pressure is the very opposite of an "oline is one of the strengths".
And you ended up saying something that makes me think its not just this video you are not watching....because no way you can watch the ravens play and think we have "low sacks allowed" because of the oline...instead of the fact that Lamar prevents them. In this video alone you can see multiple would-be sacks for most QBs being prevented because of Lamars ability to get out of them.
