"Some raiders are giving us trouble" Why?!? How and why would a group of raiders fight their way through the glowing sea just to rob an irradiated hell hole?!? Literally everything else is an easier target with more/better loot!
Huh, neat a sneak preview of Nerbits, "can you survive living out in the glowing sea in a settlement being run by an idiot" can't wait to see the full video on that one
I'd love to see a summary of all the perks you've picked up by the end, and how useful each was, and which order you'd recommend getting them in hindsight
Since I'm only around level 12-13 at the end of this video there weren't too many to cover. Next episode will be the finale and feature large time jumps so I can definitely do this!
I saw that you finally got the Cap Collector perk, better late than never Since you're going to raise Charisma further, maybe the Intimidation perks could be worth investing in? Some extra experience whenever it succeeds, I think it can trigger Idiot Savant too (That would have been a lifesaver for the first 5 levels I reckon)
I think this has to be my favorite in the region locked series. Living in the Glowing Sea presents what I feel should be the quintessential Fallout experience; constant radiation, picking for scraps and meager treasures, desperately clawing for any advantage or boon you need to just barely get by. People with pipe weapons fending off deathclaws, radscorpions, hordes of ghouls, where any day someone might, and most likely will, just die from the next raid. It ain’t just your survival anymore, every settler who joins up is another friend who you can share your everyday with, and another person to bury when a deathclaw gets hungry; I care about these settlers because it feels like they’re suffering with you, unlike Sanctuary that feels like somewhere you can actually settle and have kids and build society back up. Sorry to get all sappy over this, but this series encapsulates what I’ve been missing in the series. I eagerly wait for the next entry
@@teyrnsthat means it should be way earlier in the timeline though, by the time of new Vegas and 4, the radiation is mostly gone outside of some regions, hell, the commonwealth is only devoid of plant life because of a harsh winter(eldrtich horrors caused it)
Yeah, the Ghoulish perk is only useful on the 4th level (you need one of the DLC to get the last perk level). On level 4 radiation slowly dissipates healing you as it does.
@@Joov Common wisdom is that ghoulish is absolute garbage. However, level 4 ghoulish for a person living in the glowing sea is arguably a solid investment since you'll be bombarded by rads at all times. That said, if you can build an arch to cleanse yourself or if you went for solar powered rads probably won't be an issue anyway making ghoulish 4 moot. This is probably the only playthrough where ghoulish isn't an instant "naw" but it still isn't a great choice.
Convincing that Radscorpion to help you take out the Deathclaw, and then once the Deathclaw was dead immediately and wordlessly exploding the scorpion with a single punch was fucking hardcore.
If you're planning on doing more regionlocked fallout 4 at any point after this series is finished, I'd love to see a Nukaworld challenge. Starting off in the main hub, the series might have some kind of way for unlocking different parks through achieving different goals. That said, excellent video as usual Joov, can't wait until the grand finale.
Many a True Nerd has an entertaining series that's kinda like this idea. He heads to Nuka World at level 1 and plays right the way through to the end of the DLC.
The growth of this channel in the past year has blown my mind, you're my favorite video game challenge channel for sure! Can't wait to see what the Solstheim mini-series has to offer since this one was pretty epic

IDK why, but this Glowing Sea series has been the most enduring, and interesting set of videos I've seen so far on your channel. I absolutely love them.
I just wanna point out that if you had used a settler as a distraction, you could have flanked each power armor raider and shot their fusion cores out, leaving the power armor frames intact. Then put new cores in (from trader ogdan :/) when they're too low on charge to be of use to you, and lured an enemy back into town to aggro your settlers with and they would have gotten in the power armor sets, and you would have had a whole village of power armor wearing settlers.
Solar Powered would be more useful than Ghoulish, it reduces rads at only 2 ranks compared to 4, and while ghoulish level 4 is active all the time it’s half the speed of solar powered so solar powered level 2 is the best rad removal perk
This kinda makes me want to make "Can you play Kenshi without leaving the Ashlands?" that is basically the game version of the glowing sea. the ground is acidic, there is gas clouds and the locals can split a new character in two with ease.
Awesome episode as always, this is probably my favorite series, you did a great job at this one. I hope you had as much fun making this as we do watching it ❤

I’m going to attempt a smooth talking wimp who relies almost entirely on my companions and settlements to survive. I foresee a lot of running and hiding in my future since Fo4 doesn’t have many opportunities to settle things peacefully like NV did.
I'm think you should have researched the "Ghoulish" perk more closely - when maxed you slowly shed RADs and gain health when in radioactive areas - it was literally MADE for places like The Glowing Sea....
Hi Joov! I just recently discovered your channel, and I absolutely love it. You have a good sense of timing and humor, fun editing, and some really neat ideas for interesting runs. This is a really good series and I'm enjoying the story and progression. I have subbed so I don't miss the last video. Awesome editing and jokes. You did it in "a cool way". Good luck!
With the Build Anywhere mod, I made the Forgotten Church into a settlement, for personal use for some child of atom RP. Out of curiosity, I spawned in settlers. The regular ones died to radiation eventually, but the ghouls and even a Brahman survived! Sadly, I also had a problem with settlers charging into death. I tried to make the interior of the half submerged Red Rocket into a settlement to stop that but sadly the Build Anywhere mod doesn't like it when you try to do indoor settlements.

I made Virgil wait until I was Lv. 116 before taking the serum to him. This time it was a mythic deathclaw lurking outside his man cave. 1 shot, 1 kill with a violent sniper rifle. Then give Virgil the serum, sit on a stool for 3 days until you're almost dying from thirst and hunger and now I have a nice little base in the glowing sea, complete with chem bench and an actual bed instead of his mutant bed of tyres and re-bar.
