Lovely looking boat. So.... pot noodle for lunch it is! In 1978 I went to the Sydney Boat Show in Australia. They had one of the biggest "consumer" model yachts there. A Compass 32. It was the biggest yacht at the show, truly a world cruiser. So what you have is a world cruising boat. It will go anywhere.

Thanks for this - very enjoyable. I know you are a long keeled boat so maybe you tried and failed but a stern spring set to slip would have been useful for that departure.

Nice boat, I near.y bought one myself but couldn’t quite stretch to one at the time and I bought a Rival 32 of similar vintage. Enjoy your sailing, I’m based at Emsworth so may see you out there one day. Andy UK

Thanks for watching, yes great boats, Rival also one of those really great seaworthy boats, they done build them like this anymore.

The situation you had leaving the dock at Brighton looked frustrating! Did you think about trying a bow spring to kick the stern out and then reversing? I get why you'd be reluctant to reverse in a long keeled boat in limited space but generally it's the thing to do when you've got a beam wind or tide pushing you back onto the dock.
