I prefer the Seymour line on a Sprinter, a bit more character than the VLocity and a relatively comfy ride. Surprised they're still being used given the expansion of the VLos fleet - so will be interesting to see how long they last. @ComengProductions Metro are stuck paying to lease the Sprinters until the line becomes electrified (which isn't a big state gov priority). It'll likely be the last line to run them as a revenue service. As for future heritage use and given their economy compared to other heritage locos - they're far from likely to be scrapped
Don't think they'll last long on Seymour line 😮💨 The push to zero emissions and the VLocity taking over will see them parked/heritaged in the next few years
I wonder what is gonna happen to the stony point line when vline decide to remove all the sprinters, my guess is metro might purchase some which would mean we would probably see the metro livery on a sprinter
The plan to electrify Stony Point was over a billion bucks, so the state gov gave it the boot last year. BUT.. the Federal Libs have promised $900mil towards it if they win the upcoming election.
I really like sprinters, I think the extra seats are good, but if they had better comfort, braking and acceleration they would be much better than Vlocity trains. From a railfan’s perspective they are one of the best V/line trains because of the horn and seat to window views.
@@thirtytwobananas I thought N set seats were better because you get a much better window view, especially in economy. If you are talking about the longitudinal seats, then I get it. Those would have been nice to sit on.

I'd say the Sprinters are heaps comfier compared to the VLos seat wise, or are you talking about the ride?
