just like magic...after my last question about lack of access above my ceiling..... Your video pops-up with your video on "How to Install Down Lights with No Access" Thanks again... you're a star.
Brilliant video, every possible question answered without needing to be asked by a DIY'er. I was going to cave and pay £500+ to get mine done but knew I'd be more than capable to do it myself thanks to your video mate. Cheers 👍.
I love way you explained everything , the paper diagram to the actual fitting. super clear and very informative. gives me confidence to tackle this myself.
Just finished installing these today! From start to finish your video’s are full of help, used everything you had, defiantly need more how to video’s 👍🏼 cheers bud!
Great video mate. I've had downlights waiting to be installed for 3 years in an en suite that was done out 3 years ago but never got the lights done. Have managed to do them myself within 2 days of watching your video. Top man.
Again everything explain nice and clear ! I might put spotlights in my hallway now. Easy enough it's just a loop. Brilliant explained it wonderfully. Thanks
Great video many many thanks. Followed your video my room looks so much better now . Really liked the wago box & connectors. Really enjoyed doing the task after getting the confidence from your video. Many thanks again
I absolutely love your channel. Your tutorials are always clear and easy to understand. Thank you for your dedication in putting together quality how to guides and keep up the good work. 💪
Sorry to be one of those people. But i'm upgrading from 6 halogen downlight fittings to G10 led bulbs. Do i need transformers for each fitting? I'm confused from Googling it as some say yes, will need transformers and others say the G10 bulbs have built in transformers. Appreciate any feed back.
Outstanding video, need to do this in my kitchen. I was very unsure how it was done and thought it would be very complicated and expensive but this will save me hundreds of £’s thank you!
Fantastic video as everyone said answered alot of questions. I will be adding 2 more lights to my existing 6 downlights and feel confident to do this myself after watching your video!
Great video. U made what can be a tricky job look easy.I was waiting for all the negative sparkie expert comments 😂. Earth's still have to be connected. Wago box needs sealed with tie wrap. Wago box needs secured to beam.
Hi DIYGUY, just fitted a set of 3 downlights into my bathroom (IP Rated of course) to replace my old ceiling rose. Had a slight bit of figuring out to do when I got to the rose and discovered 5 cables coming out of it. Worked out they were the shaver socket feed and the extractor fan. Couldn’t have done it without your video, saved myself a lot of money and the bathroom looks much better. Thankyou mate 👍🏼
Thank you for the wonderful step by step video. I know nothing about lighting at all. I only know how to change a light bulb 😅 Still, good to know the concept of it. P. S. Love your tat. Super cool.
I did my own kitchen rewire as a sparky. We ripped full kitchen ceiling down and the first joist bay was 300mm then 470mm then 400mm. Safe to say we just marked the top of the walls below ceiling height
You laid the cables over the insulation and moved the insulation from around each light fitting. Is that deliberate? A great video and exactly what I was looking for, thank you.
Firstly it is for the purpose of giving the viewer a good visual representation but also I applied covers over the spotlights so had to do this for that reason too
Hello great video, How long did this take you from start to finish as a professional, say if you wasn't filming content how fast could you get this done. Thanks in advance
As everyone above, greate video! Question of the day is...... What should you do with the blue wire coming out from the light switch ? As my spot lights are like yours (2 in - 2 out).
Great video, really helpful, my only question would be if this is being done downstairs how do you install or change the rose i was under the impression it has to be accessible, this i difficult downstairs due to the available access from above or below? thanks for any help
Really helpful! What if the room I want to fit the spotlights is in the ground floor? Once I open the holes, how do I fit the cables and do the connections at the end?
Hi, thank you for the video! I’m thinking of attempting this soon in my bathroom, I’ve just had a look at the wiring of the current pendant and there is only 1xL 1xN & 1E wire. What is the process? Thanks!
Thank you. I watched your other video (and a few others too) on ring vs radial. How do you know which you have? And why don't you get the overloading possibility of the cable with radial? Especially if you can string no end of sockets end on end. Comments off on that video, I guess it was too busy!
Thanks for the video, it's great. I have question: Is it possible to fit this sort of lighting without having any access to the space above, I live in flat and there is a flat roof above my bedroom ceiling! It sound impossible but I thought I would ask.
This is good vid for a house. What about flat with neighbours above?I need to convert pendant to spot lights. There are wooden joists and no option to fish the cable between holes. What is the best method? Can I cut slots in joists or do I have to dril holes on both sides and joist itself?
HANDY TIP: When cutting holes in ceiling (messy job) attach a plastic tray between hole cutter and drill to collect all the mess! I cut out the bottom of a popcorn bucket about 2” high ! Trust me , you’ll thank me later! 😊
Hi - Really good video. Can I just ask if the same method can be used for 2 way switching of spotlights utilising the Wago boxes (3 plate method with 3 cables coming in to the ceiling rose) - 1.Power, 2. Switch from kitchen back door, 3. Switch at hall entrance to kitchen)? Thanks
Was wondering if this spot lights are any good for kitchen, what sort of brand is this? Was looking for some good quality spot lights any idea? Cheers great video keep up
Brilliant video! Every step mentioned...superb! Any tips to how you would go about if was a flat with no loft? Like how you would find out joist spacing etc
Thanks a lot. Without access above, this job will be a considerable amount more difficult even with cable rods and an inspection camera. Joists can be found with a tool called a stud buddy.
Great Videos easy to follow, Currently installing 2 rows of three downlights in living room and taken the feed from were the old pendent light but now the other half also wants a pendent light bang in centre of room as well as downlights. Lights need to work independently what would be the best way to wire this up
Brilliant video - Thank you! Question, about to fit downlights in a hall with an on/off switch at either end - how will the wiring differ how should it be wired?
Best video by a country mile on how to fit these lights. I feel so much more confident in giving it a go myself. Top job mate
Thanks. Glad it has helped you.
just like magic...after my last question about lack of access above my ceiling..... Your video pops-up with your video on "How to Install Down Lights with No Access" Thanks again... you're a star.

That's great, good luck to you 👍
Did you test Zs and Ze? No good if the automatic disconnection device doesn't work if there's a fault..just 'FYI in' ya..
@@ef7480 - Why would you need an earth loop impedance test for fittings with no earth?
I love way you explained everything , the paper diagram to the actual fitting. super clear and very informative. gives me confidence to tackle this myself.
I could become addicted to your videos. They are so well organised as a step by step guide- thank you!
Glad you like them!
Brilliant vid, just fitted 10 spots and this no nonsense vid was excellent for completing the job.
You no your stuff, I’ve learnt a lot. I’ve wired a new light from a pendant to a new led light.
Great, well done
Might be an older video but this just saved me paying to get this job done! Really clear and straight forward instructions. Thanks!

Just finished installing these today! From start to finish your video’s are full of help, used everything you had, defiantly need more how to video’s 👍🏼 cheers bud!

Really good, mate. Helped a lot..

Firstly it is for the purpose of giving the viewer a good visual representation but also I applied covers over the spotlights so had to do this for that reason too
Thanks a million. Is this wiring "in parallel" that means if one spot does the others keep working? Thanks
Great video, very clear and simple to understand 👏
Thanks 👍
Great video, as always. Can you also daisy chain an extractor fan to this sort of system?
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing!

As everyone above, greate video! Question of the day is...... What should you do with the blue wire coming out from the light switch ? As my spot lights are like yours (2 in - 2 out).
Are there any calcs you can do to work out how many down lights are required for a room? Cheers
Brilliant tutorial
Great video, really helpful, my only question would be if this is being done downstairs how do you install or change the rose i was under the impression it has to be accessible, this i difficult downstairs due to the available access from above or below? thanks for any help
Great Video! Very easily explained, can u add as many spotlights as u want so there is nothing to do with load
What colour is on that wall behind you at the end please? Great video!
Really helpful! What if the room I want to fit the spotlights is in the ground floor? Once I open the holes, how do I fit the cables and do the connections at the end?

Great clear video. But my question is, is this still possible if you have no access from the rooms above, ie the floors?

Thanks for your vid, it's great. Any idea how i would change a pendant light fitting for a single downlight?
Sure, refer to my ceiling light video for help.
Hi, thank you for the video! I’m thinking of attempting this soon in my bathroom, I’ve just had a look at the wiring of the current pendant and there is only 1xL 1xN & 1E wire. What is the process?
Thanks!
Fanstatic video. Cant thank enough.
What is the rule of thumb for number of spotlight you use for a given size room ? (just a rough estimate)
Phenomenal video, everything covered!
Brilliant thanks
Thank you. I watched your other video (and a few others too) on ring vs radial. How do you know which you have? And why don't you get the overloading possibility of the cable with radial? Especially if you can string no end of sockets end on end. Comments off on that video, I guess it was too busy!
Great video with excellent presentation (content and pace)
Subbed
Cheers for the sub
Thanks for the video, it's great. I have question: Is it possible to fit this sort of lighting without having any access to the space above, I live in flat and there is a flat roof above my bedroom ceiling! It sound impossible but I thought I would ask.
Excellent 👌👌👌 what if you wanted to keep the light in the middle, I plan on doing this but want to keep my middle light fixture
This is good vid for a house. What about flat with neighbours above?I need to convert pendant to spot lights. There are wooden joists and no option to fish the cable between holes. What is the best method? Can I cut slots in joists or do I have to dril holes on both sides and joist itself?

Good little tip that
Or use a dade 😜
I wish I had read this comment 10 minutes ago!!! Plasterboard dust everywhere.
That's a brilliant idea ..... Maybe a KFC bucket will work as well 😋
Excellent video buddy
Thanks 👍
Hi - Really good video. Can I just ask if the same method can be used for 2 way switching of spotlights utilising the Wago boxes (3 plate method with 3 cables coming in to the ceiling rose) - 1.Power, 2. Switch from kitchen back door, 3. Switch at hall entrance to kitchen)? Thanks

Thanks a lot 😁
The best onyou tube
Absolute legend 💪👍
Brilliant video! Every step mentioned...superb!
Any tips to how you would go about if was a flat with no loft? Like how you would find out joist spacing etc
Thanks a lot. Without access above, this job will be a considerable amount more difficult even with cable rods and an inspection camera. Joists can be found with a tool called a stud buddy.
I just replaced 2 std light to downlights.Put a dimmer .One is working fine, other warks barely. It’s the same on full dim or low dim.Wiring looks ok..
Really clear and simple 👌
Thanks 👍
Hi how to install spotlights and keep existing lights, and have two switches, one for spotlights and one for existing lights in room?
So cool!In my case, if I can't get inside the loft, how do I put one wire into one hole and get it from another hole?Thank you
It will be difficult. You may be able to use cable pulling rods but it's dependant on some other factors such as joist direction.
Could you use 1.5 flex cable as well for the job ?
Great Videos easy to follow, Currently installing 2 rows of three downlights in living room and taken the feed from were the old pendent light but now the other half also wants a pendent light bang in centre of room as well as downlights. Amazing video / explanation.

Amazing work mate well done
Thanks 👍
Fantastic video thankyou
Glad you enjoyed it
Brilliant video - Thank you! Question, about to fit downlights in a hall with an on/off switch at either end - how will the wiring differ how should it be wired?
