- Working more on the shelter for the upcoming cow and steer. More rain and chilly weather. Weeding the garden. Looking at the fruit trees and berry bushes. Mowing.
When you weed the garden you should have a bucket to put the pulled weeds in and give it to your chickens. Just a thought.
“I figure I just need to be faster than you”😂😂😂Still chuckling 🤣🤣🤣
Your never boring Joe.Thank you
Always makes me happy to see a notification of one of your new videos pop up on YT! I hoarded this until today when I could watch it in peace and quiet. I never find anything you and Melissa get into remotely boring! It's just like being at home on our farm, following my husband from task to task. He's like you, Joe....he does not slow down! 😊 Y'all take care and be safe! Eagerly awaiting the next installment of the adventure! 👍👍😊😊❤❤
Garden looks really nice. I give your dad so much credit for the work ethic he instilled in you. See a lot of green in that field. I have been watching you for years and have never seen a boring video thats for sure.
I like when you clean and organize your shops so they are more functional
Been watching you for 4 years Joe, love your videos. Always a great escape. Thanks for sharing.
One hell of a good old school carpenter
You should put some planks on the inside the cows will nock that plywood off in no time.
I definitely will. You are not the first to suggest that and I will do that once I get the roof on. I am still contemplating if I want to put build a wall type feeder in there to throw hay into on real bad winter days, if I do that it would kind of determine where I need to put the inside planks. My first priority is getting a shelter and fenced in area and then I will start doing the smaller details.
Thanks Joe! Everything is looking really good! Thank you!I noticed you cleaned this work shop! Looks good!
That Garden is so sweet, Your The MAN, get some sea grass or straw for the paths and you will not have to weed as much and it keeps the needed nutrients in the ground, I also Know very Much you Know what you are doing, Thanks again!...
Hey Joe, watching you build on the cow enclosure reminded me of master carpenter meets rancher! Kind of best of both worlds. Thanks much for sharing your video.
Gosh, I love that stove.
I love how Beauty always makes an appearance in your videos😊
Hey Joe l’ve been watching you grow gardens for years now and they’re always beautiful and abundant, there’s nothing boring about that. My husband and I made nice gardens in Mississippi but nothing close to yours. Blessings! 👏👏👏🌱🌱🌱🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️
👍👍
Always love watching your videos and always look forward to your next video.. many thanks for your time making them.
How could real life EVER be boring especially when we’d all forget our own damn heads if they weren’t attached ! Every one of us !! 😎
Your grass is so beautiful, so green! I just love it.❤
Joe me personally find nothing boring of your videos.
You had me swatting and scratching at imaginary mosquitoes, Joe! 😅
So many projects started. So many projects to complete.
Never a dull day.
How about a couple of bat houses in the back of property? That would get rid of a few mosquitoes.
Garden looks good! 👌 Comin down for Melissa's breakfast-for-lunch!! 👍🇨🇦😎
Hey Joe. Love all of your videos. I truly get excited every time I log on and see you've posted. You make building projects look so easy. I feel like I could have learned to build stuff it you were my teacher.
I have done it for over 40 years, it comes easy to me now.
Joe, love watching you grow gardens. They are a thing of beauty.
I always use black garden tarp for years in my 1 acre garden and worked great especially come August.
Now there's only two of us and have 4 raised beds.
Your videos are not boring. I love the FB oops videos you do. I would love to see the one where you forgot the battery! You are human too. We all make mistakes.
Love your videos, Joe.
Joe if I was walking in that I would have some knee high rubber boots on.. Snake be ready for you.. 😂
No poison snakes here.
not boring for me, thank you
Good place to dig you a pond for your cattle where the water is standing.... We've not had hardly any rain except small shower just enough to wet the ground here in north Ala. I didnt get to plant a garden this year because of bone on bone hip and knee joints. I did have tomatoes come up from last year in the pots. They were doing great, then it turned off so hot and dry hot wind, went out the other morning on the deck to pick some tommytoes tomatoes and fricking horn worms had just about ate the entire plants. I picked so many of them off and stomped there behind. Those worms give me the creeps for some reason😂. Your garden looks great. Im jealous...
I live in North Alabama, as well. We could use some of his rain and cooler weather!!
@@karencushing2502 yes we could....thought we might get some off that Beryl storm. Now it's shifting going more northerly,
OMG that pizza looked so good I almost started eating my TV.
I ain’t gotta be faster than the bear … just faster than you 😂 CLASSIC 😎
Never boring, Joe. If it were, I would not be watching. Thanks for sharing. PS- I was sort of surprised when you dropped that "I just need to outrun YOU "on Melissa!
Joe; build some bat houses. Bats will eat lots of mosquitoes. So do barn swallows.
You can have all our nasty 90’s and 100’s! Would be thrilled with a nice chilly night to give the AC’s a break and the house to cool down.
Wonderful video...thanks. Wish I could sit at your place, help Melissa and chill out. 72 year old grams from Ohio
thanks for sharing Joe
Did I miss something Joe? I haven’t seen Joanie in the last few videos with the dogs. I don’t think I missed any of your visits but with all my husbands health issues I just might have missed an update on her. I use tide laundry detergent to spray my yard for mosquitoes but I have a Quarter acre at best. Of course this year with all the rain I’m spraying pretty regularly. Me thinks you Minnesotans are sending your weather across Lake Michigan to us here in the middle of the mitten. Rain has my tomatoes reaching 3 plus feet already. What a year it’s been for rain. Looking forward to the cows coming and of course I’m anxious to see what you do with the greenhouse. I’m also awaiting more updates on When the Rooster Crows!!!:):):)
Good show Joe, you got a lot done on this one✌
Really enjoyed watching 👍👍
I believe they are called tomatillos (tomato in the lantern like shell). You are far from boring and I really enjoy watching your channel(s) thank you!
We haven't had a slow rain in northern Illinois. All thunderstorms this year and it has killed a lot of our plants too. I've been watching your area and it's been crazy. I can't believe how many storms you have had.
😅 "I figure that I can run faster than you!" 😂 She should have kicked you out of the cart then. 😂❤ I love this channel. You are so real! The garden looks good but your fruit bushes and trees are awesome.
Put up about 10-15 swallow nest boxes. Once you get some that move in they will take care of your mosquitos.
I am always super happy when I start seeing lots of dragon flies, they eat a ton of them. I have never seen a swallow up here but in the future when I do not have 50 things going at once I will be able to actually get into the work shop and possibly build bird houses.
No! It's not boring. Love your farm! It's fun to see your garden grow and how well you take care of the Farm!
Can't wait for the cows. Would love to see the birds, chicken, ducks, again. Thanks for sharing! 😊😊😊
OBSERVATION
Melissa- Good morning honey. Whatcha going to do today?
Joe-I think i will whip out some condos in the backyard, then build a zoo.
There are alot of things that we eat and use everyday that will kill grass. 😂
Awesome video Man
Dude please send rain to ky like I’ve said we are about a drought I have to water my garden and it’s a half acre
Probably the best thing you could do for the newly planted field would be to fertilize it with something like 19-19-19. That would help it grow and fill in.
G'day Joe. You can let weeds once pulled rot back into the ground, as long as they are not flowering at the time you pull them up. Invasive weeds are a different story of course. G'day from Australia mate.
Does the cold mornings have you thinking “I better start cutting that wood!”
Yes. Less than 4 months until we start the wood boiler again.
Hey bud, I know you hear this a lot, but if you can, put mulch (Leafs anything) in your garden, save hundreds of hours. cheers!
You are a working machine I wish I had some of your motivation
Cows will be here in a little over 5 weeks. We start the wood boiler in less than 4 months. That is all the motivation needed. Lol.
Not at all boring, inspiring is what your weeding the garden is. Such an amazing garden. I cannot believe what you create out in Northern Minnesota! 😊😊😊
BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!
Lavender oil mixed with water is supposed to help against mosquitos too, but it makes my skin itch.
Classic example of a scatter brain. lol. Doing a hundred projects without finishing many.
Another example of another stupid comment.
Tomatillos is the word you're looking for.
Thank you Phillis. Please remind me next time as well, because I know I will forget. Lol.
@@NorthernSeclusion I like your Paper Lantern description.
You need to weed whack the sides and it will look great.
Same here in northern Germany: „Where is summertime😢?
I believe they are called tomatillos
We have that same mosquito trapper thing. We haven't really used it because it's too hot to be outside comfortably.
You have a green thumb Joe to grow all this strawberrys and black berries and other stuff but that grass is so bad hey already seen when you went up to the tent vidio
You and Melissa need Thermacells. They're not as good as deet, but they work pretty good for mosquitos.
5:13 Those are Tomatillos. They have their own little blanket.
Speaking of radishes, have you and Melissa ever tried oven roasting them? They are delicious that way.
you should try a dwarf peach tree we got over 200 peaches one year we had to use hockey sticks to hold up the branches
You should try a spin shovel, makes life so much easier, Love Your Channel and hope if I make a comment it is never meant to be Negative, Thumbs Up!!!...
use skin so soft it keeps the bugs away
Joe you need help get a ranch hand someone to cut the grass while you're pulling weeds taking care of the chickens
We always had the gate swing to the outside once you get frozen snow mixed with cow manure to dig out for the gate swing where as outside once the snow got high we just shoveled the snow to make a path for the gate swing..seemed like frozen snow mixed with cow manure was hard as a rock..
That small gate does swing in, the bigger ones will swing both ways. The only reason I have the one into the shelter swinging in is because the cows will spend more time in there and if a person needs to get out quick, they can not follow behind you and push the gate, it has a stop. Everything I do here I am constantly thinking about the snow. Winter is tough so making that easier is a big priority. I am hoping that since the shelter will be covered not much snow will blow in there even though, we get some big winded snowfalls that can blow and drift it. All that being said, this winter will be a learning experience unless we have another freak winter like last years.
Get you a mosquito net hat
Cant even begin to do that kind of physical work here in Louisiana right now. It was 95 today with high humidity. It will exhaust you just weed eating the yard
watching you organize the shop was refreshing. So excited to see the cows coming. Are the poultry incorporated now without any pecking? Did you and Melissa ever get married?
Tim to mow the trail
I’ll trade you temperatures! Las Vegas broke all records to day at 120 degrees. Henderson NV topped out at only 118 🥵
Maybe you could rob some topsoil from elsewhere to fill in the lake...
That's considerate of you to provide a shelter for your cattle
Winters are brutal up here.
It's weird. I follow a couple in Sweden. They are a sailing channel but are building a new boat. They bought a small farm for the barn to build the boat in. Anyhow, they planted a garden and are already picking things. I'm in upstate NY. Where they are in Sweden the trees and grass greened before it did here.
No bear and especially a cougar will stick around when they hear that machine coming
@@CraigGrant-sh3in where in upstate NY. I come from near Plattsburgh. Now I live in NYC.
Ground cherry is the name you were searching for I think.
Nothing can make you run fast like a big old Bear trying to take a bite out of your backside, lol .
Joe, have you ever considered raised bed gardening?
What would she think about the vinegar, salt, dish soap recipe for weed control? All natural ingredients.
She has used that before in Louisiana. Anything like that is ok.
Joe have you given a thought to getting a farm hand to help with the chores. Just for the summer. Just asking.
We have talked about it but it is not needed yet. If we could get someone part time in the future it could at times be appreciated but for now I have too much to do to think about that. It would be nice if we were going camping or fishing and when it is garden harvest time etc.
Talstar will keep the mosquitoes/bugs down and not kill grass/plants.
Melissa will not let us use that because it may kill bees and other beneficial bugs.
@@NorthernSeclusion understood. Just wanted to give an option! Farm is looking great, look forward to more videos from you.
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. How are the ducks and the new chickens? Did they ever go outside with the rest of the other chickens?
More garlic is supposed too help
5:26 Ground Cherry
Related to the tomatillo...
I here michigan is going to change a lot of deer hunting this year maybe it will help maybe not who knows sounds like they have it messed up big time already now there trying to fix what they caused
Joe curious about how many acres is your land.
37.
Mosquitoes...have you tried Garlic pills for warding off mosquitoes?
I think i can run faster than you!! Good answer
Joe, put up some bat boxes, bats eat thousands of mosquitoes
Use a blower instead of a broom
So the dust can settle on everything else in there? Lol.
Why you getting cows/cattle,Joe??too much work, expensive winter feed etc?
Yes. A pregnant milk cow and a steer that will get butchered in about a year.
I've been curious if there is a fence on the far end of your garden/greenhouse?
I have one panel back there and then those greenhouse table things. It is not fully blocked off but mostly it is. Luckily, the deer have an abundance of food with all the rain this year so they have been staying away from the garden area.
Are or have you put greenhouse material on your setup in the garden yet?or are you?
Yes. We will do that later this year.
Joe, we had a building we have been working on for a long while. It has TYVEK wrap around it and after a year it started shredding. Do you have any issues with the guesthouse wrap shredding?
It has not shredded at all yet.The stuff I have on the tent addition has been there probably 8 years and is still good also.
Thank you.
Tomatillos
