In the mike force game mode I do allot of recovery of downed choppers. You can be in the jungle miles from an AO and in a split second a peaceful jungle turns to the most intense close quarter gunfight you’ve ever had.
I remember my Great uncle telling me stories of Vietnam and of him and his platoon being in the jungle at night listening to the VC talk and move around them. This reminded me of that and actually creeped me out a little knowing he went through this for real. Crazy shit bro
There's a reason they dubbed it "fresh green hell". A family friend of ours was in nam. Dude told me that a full platoon would set out on a week long patrol, and if half made it back, they were considered extremely lucky. MACV SOG would often experience 80 to 90 percent casualties on their deep infiltration missions.
Imagine it being so dark you literally can't see your hand in front of your face. You're overran by the NVA, only to have a Sapper crawl up close enough to touch your boot. They only move with the wind, they are silent, they are trained trackers. These SOG men are truly incredible.

Holy hell. I don't know how you do it. That's intense just watching...can't imagine being there trying to fight in the dark with voices coming out of the bushes at every turn. Yikes. Great video.

@DanielCook it is not against the rules to use white phosphorus. They are used by artillery, mortars and even by the infantry via hand grenades to mark targets or as smoke screen (primarily by artillery). The idea that using white phosphorus being illegal in war is a myth.
